Glad you had a lovely time for DD2's birthday. Yes it'll make things tighter this week but the memories will last longer than the 'tight week' will. Positive steps with the ex too.

Thank you SH, Spendless & Cherryfudge...you are right, the memories will last much longer than the tight week! Just having my children in the same place at the same time is wonderful. Funny how something that I took for granted as everyday, changes as they get older and these moments are so precious now.

Today has been a fairly relaxed day. Got quite a bit of work done for Job 1 for next week. Met up with SO and went swimming with my youngest 2 and his children. They all got on well and enjoyed the time in the water 🙂. 

Quite a full on week next week, despite having tomorrow off. Meetings seem to fill Tuesday and Thursday and have 3 evenings in a row at Job 2 which will be interesting. The hours will start to reduce soon as we head deeper into Autumn so am grateful for the shifts thus far.

Still can’t quite comprehend the Queen being gone. She has been a wonderful constant in the changing times in which we live. Will have to find someone with a TV tomorrow to be able to watch the funeral.

Hope you got to see the funeral. I understand what you mean about having all your brood together. Mine are all here today, first time for ages and first time in the new house.

I got to see parts of the Queen’s funeral as WiFi would allow ( we live in a very slow broadband  area.)  I was intrigued as to how they managed to keep the orb from rolling off when they mounted the steps. The bearers were absolutely amazing. What an incredibly tough job to do in front of millions of people.

Life remains busy! Ended up doing 4 evenings last week and have 4 to do this week coming. I wish I could say that I’m saving lots but I’m not. It just seems to go out on the weekly food shop and petrol to get to job 1  although I’m being very careful with both food and journeys. 

The house situation seems to be going from bad to worse. The bathroom is being fitted shortly but have the leaking shower ( and by now rotting floorboards ) to sort and to top it all the boiler was condemned this week. The engineer came to service it and found it was too dangerous to use 😳😳😳😳. We have the wood burner in the living room and a collection of plug in oil radiators but now needing to get quotes for a replacement boiler 😞😞😞. It seems I can’t earn the money fast enough before it flies out again on repairs.

On a more positive note, SO has been amazing at helping me to clear some of the clutter that has been overwhelming me for years. Things that  the ex left here and hasn’t removed and I’ve just not known what to do with it or in some cases even known what it is. I’ve lost count of the bags of rubbish we have to take to the tip but I think it’s topping 30 😳. It is amazing though, as stuff is leaving the house, there is more room to arrange what is left, which in turn is making it seem more organised.

Mortgage paperwork is going through, thankfully the application was in before the government financial statement and subsequent mortgage chaos. Hoping it will all be ok.

Oh no! to the boiler and oh yes! to the decluttering. It sounds like a huge job, but you are claiming your home as your own.

30 bags of 'stuff'. Wow. No wonder you were feeling overwhelmed with it all. When you don't understand what an object is and it's purpose and it's not yours, it makes it difficult to deal with.  It'' ll be so much better for you once exes stuff has gone, both emotionally and in creating the space for you.

Totally understand the feeling of getting nowhere before the next bill hits!  Hope the boiler replacement isn't too expensive. It's frustrating but you're in a better place financially now after making all the inroads into your debt.

I'd not thought about the mortgage chaos and how it could affect you. Pleased to hear it was already going through.
