Before my DDs started work they knew that they were expected to give me a certain %age of their take home pay up to a max amount for board and lodgings so I definitely think it's what you should do. I think it was probably easier because they knew even before they started work that they would have to pay towards their keep.2

Another week has flown by. I’ve had a lovely week at Job 1 using a set of picture books that broach the concept of war and remembrance in a child friendly way.
The mortgage is bewildering me in the paperwork sense. I thought I had named my solicitor as representing me and another company was representing the bank. I’ve had multiple forms to fill in but all on an online platform. I must be getting old! I much prefer paper forms when dealing with officialdom! I have filled in many forms wondering why the bank needed so much information and then wondering why my solicitor hasn’t had a copy of the offer letter and it turns out that the banks legal company are also doing my conveyancing. It has taken 3 phone calls during 3 lunch breaks to solve the mystery as to why my solicitor hadn’t heard anything. She will still do the transfer of equity stuff but it means 2 lots of legal bills. I have built up some money via the monthly standing order with my solicitor so hopefully there will be enough for one bill.
I’m thankful that today looks to be a dry day that will allow for drying washing and getting out for a walk.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Beautiful day here as well and washing on the line. That always feels like a win at this time of the year.

It's dry here but very grey and cloudy. Glad I got my washing done yesterday when it was very blowy - only one thing didn't dry and that was a very thick bathmat so not really surprised about that.

Yesterday worked out a little differently to how I’d planned - took DD4 to see another college but this one is closer to home and newer but doesn’t have quite the range of courses that the other college has. The course that excited her the most is at the first college so it’s made the decision quite easy for her, but will mean a long commute for 2 years.
SO helped me to get some flooring for the bathroom so it’s all starting to take shape 🙂.
A friend’s husband runs a gardening business and came to give me a quote for cutting a hedge. I’ve tried to keep it in trim vertically but the height is a problem. I’ve stood on a stool with a hedge-cutter to try and cut it, but I simply don’t have the ladders to get it done. I’m learning that it’s ok to ask for help if you need it - a lesson I struggle with because I’ve tried to get on and do things myself and be as independent as possible so have hated the thought of asking or seeking help. My friend’s husband is coming round whenever he can fit it in, which will help with the light levels n the kitchen and one of the bedrooms.
Got a fair amount of planning done for Job 1, but more to do later. Hoping to be able to get outside today as much as possible. Have a good Sunday everyone.paydbx2025 #26 £890/£5000 . Mortgage start £148k June 23 - now £138k.

Good that DD4 has found the college for her. Well done asking for help, it’s not easy and it sounds like it’ll make a huge difference when it’s done.LTotal Debt Dec 07 £59875.83 Overdrafts £2900,New Debt Figure ZERO !!!!!!:j 08/06/2013
