Belated birthday wishes, mothernerd
Small spend at Tesc0 yesterday - needed milk, grapes, greens (for guinea pigs) and a couple of other things - also managed to pick up some YS items inc some bargain chicken (whole one for £1.50, 2 breasts for 57p, 4 breasts for £1.20) just by being at the reduced chill cabinet as the man came out with things and was putting them on the shelf :T
DD and bf went back at pm yesterday and are back at Uni - first time we've met him and he is lovelyI have to post a parcel off to her today though - she's left her hairbrush & a key to the postbox. Am posting off a couple of books to her as well as they are ok in the same price/ weight. She is off to his parents' house next weekend
Yesterday's thankfulness:
* simple pleasures - we spent part of the morning and the afternoon playing board games as a family - good fun
* unexpected YS bargains of things we buy/ eat
* easy food options

Good morning everyone,
Yesterday was a planned spend day so made the most of it and bought a few things I needed.
Today will too be a spend day as I need to ship my old laptop off which I sold on ebay plus I forgot my water for the gym and needed to buy a drink.
The week ahead should be a good one though.0 -

NST - Ninja Saving Turtle - people in this threadwho have NSDs - no spend days or SFDs - spend free days
DS3 - Dear son no 3 (so I also have DS1 and DS2 - and a DD - dear daughter) I think sister is DSis?
YS - yellow sticker - so reduced items in the supermarket (although some have orange stickers!)
MFW - mortgage free wannabe - whole board of diaries of people trying to repay their mortgages - so similar to the DFW board
Feel free to jump in and read/ quote/ comment/ ask questions as you see fit

saveforbetterlife , I meant to say you can buy both day AND night cream for less than a fiver , Its the best stuff out there , I read an article in one of the womens mags , where about 6 women had done trials on face creams etc , ranging from VERY VERY expensive stuff, and all the usual , Clarins. Loreal etc , ( No one knew which was which ) and Aldi beat the lot , I expected it to jump in price after that, but they kept it to under £2. I use it every day0

Thankyou greent . don't laugh whats DFW , I assume debt free but whats the W ?
I used to be on here many years ago , and have to say its saved me THOUSANDS of pounds over the years following advice , My friends often say , you always get a bargain , or how do you do that , I cant ,
The answer , I listen to people on here , not afraid to try something new or offer advice if I can , and not be like them , chucking stuff away and keeping up with the jones's . we all need to help each other , I used to tell my children , theres no shame in decent second hand stuff, but we don't do worn out . Im the queen of recycling and frugal , so hopefully ill be able to help others a little along the way x.Thanks for having me x x0 -

Hi All...
Welcome Moll - great to have you here cheering us on, and yes - it runs every month!
Today I am grateful for:
I) A quiet day to clear my desk at work
ii) My brother - for always being there!
iii) A freezing cold, but beautiful morning and drive into work
Today = NSD number 13
Today felt really positive - one of those days when you tie up lots of loose ends and clear the decks. I'm trying to find it in me today to forgive... It's something that comes up again and again - certainly the last few years have seen some big changes in the relationships I had in my life. I have tried to take ownership for my part in their breakdown - but find it hard to truly 'forgive' and 'let go'. I'm told it's the route to healing past hurts but it's seems harder to put into practice... I want to - to not waste any more energy on the past - it's just tricky. If anyone has found a way to do this - please feel free to suggest away what worked for you!... Then I can free up that energy and use it to fuel something more positive in my life...⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

My life is full of abundance and prosperity

Ah, abundant - if only I had the answer
x I know I am holding onto past events and should 'let them go' but that's easier said than done
Today I nipped to A5da for some bits which they don't sell in Ald1 nor in our local Tesc0. I also filled my car with diesel and posted a parcel to my DD at uni - last item didn't cost me anything though, as I used stamps rec'd from RM surveys
Chilly one here and I ended up putting the heating on part way through the day, even though it was only me at home. But as I was wearing a tshirt, a jumper, a scarf, jeans, thick socks and fluffy slippers and had a wheat bag on my lap and was still cold I gave in. It was mainly because I was sat down all day sorting paperwork for the accountant, so I wasn't moving about at all.
Tonight is the best schoolnight of the week - only activities are directly after school for DS1, so after he is home and the guinea pigs have gone away we can lock up and hunker down. We have later activities on Tues, Weds and Turs, involving trips out. Not so bad in the nicer weather, but not so much fun when it's dark and cold and maybe wet. Warming food of pasta/ chilli tonight
Jan objectives - food from stores (items from A5da not required today (will be later in week) but I was heading that way anyway so made sense. Have now finished the 20p YS crumpets from last JuneLunch was a hotch-potch affair of bits n pieces - few nacho chips (about 8 in the bottom of a pack) with a tiny smidge of salsa (last of it from the weekend), a small slice of lo pizza and about 10 pieces of cold, plain pasta and half an apple:) Got rid of some odds from my fridge, so I was happy enough
Spends - as noted above. Sig has been updated for grocery spends.
Today I am grateful for:
* time out spent watching a robin hop in and around the bushes in the front garden
* the bank reconciliation (12 months' worth!) for the accountant being *relatively* easy
* enough food from odds and ends to not waste anything and also be satisfied
