Mothernerd Hope you manage to 'reset yourself'
Tonisfriend It's ok to just do nothing every so often. You've had a lot on. Hope you enjoyed the takeaway?
Speky half your wages to savings? That's incredible. Well done.
Well I am scraping the barrel at the moment so no money stuff going on. Not long till payday though, (next Wednesday)
Working off and on all weekend, so that will keep me out of trouble.
My gratitudes:
1. My son having a good day. He's been put up to the top group for swimming & completed 1.5 lengths of an Olympic length pool today. He was very proud of himself.
2. A lovely walk with my daughter, seeing how she reacted to being surrounded by birds of varying sizes at the duck pond. Amazing how many turned up to be fed.
3. Winter sunshine, cheers everything up." Your vibe attracts your tribe":D

Greent What sort of volunteering do you do if you don't mind me being nosy?
Hi Bob - I volunteer for a local baby bank - https://www.gloucestershirebundles.org - we work similar to food banks in that we operate on a referral only basis. We help local families in crisis, covering maternity clothes, toiletries for mums, baby clothes up to age 13 , baby/ child toiletries and nappies, moses baskets, cots, mattresses, stairgates, sterilisers, bedding etc. We have referrals for refugees, domestic abuse families, teenage parents, benefit issues, loss of job etc
Not NSD today =- trip to Tesc0 this morning. DD home for weekend with boyf so a few extra things bought. DS1's gf also staying. AFter a tiring week (OH started new job working away and I've not slept well) we also went for easy option of a takeawayWill update sig tomorrow with spends

Today I am grateful
I am not in America,
that the doors have all been turned by the carpenter, and the light switches are finally on the correct side of the door,
that DH made a lovely chilli for supper so that I could keep an eye on Donald and listen to his nasty little speech on tv,
and that it was crisp but sunny today with blue skies and not a hint of cloud, fog or rain.
A lot to be thankful for today.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Morning,
I'm working today which means I should get another NSD. Pleased to say that yesterday was too!0 -
Morning all, yay it's the weekend
It's looking decidedly murky again though today, really foggy and grey, but it's still the weekend! Thursday was a spendy day and Friday a SFD, think that means I'm at 11 but will double check.
Plan for the weekend is shopping with my mum, she offered to take me shopping for my Christmas and birthday presents so I can buy some new items without actually spendingNeed to do lots of walking and eat well as want to keep up with my weight loss
Did two exercise classes this week so I'm feeling proud

Morning all :coffee:
Oz - sorry to hear that you're a tenner down. That happened to me at work a few weeks ago and although they caught the kid that did it, it still isn't a nice experience and the money is still gone.
It's been a tough week in terms of bad news for a lot of my work friends, which has left me quite drained emotionally. I'm determined this weekend to have some good rest and relaxation and pull myself together a bit. I am very grateful for the things I do have.
Yesterday's gratitudes:
My lovely comfy purple sofa
snuggles with the cats
Mine and my family's health
I'm still totally broke and ticking down the days until payday (10 to go). I have tutoring this afternoon but other than that there are no plans...Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Yesterday was a NSD - wasnt feeling great - crampy and the onset of a cold so I didn't leave the house. I'm now at 9/15 and this actually feels doable!
Hopefully today will also be a NSD and perhaps even Sunday. We have food in so we are not going to starve!
1) I'm grateful that I checked my bank balance last and totalled up what still needs to come out of the account. It came to roughly £250. Tom wanted a takeaway and i was tempted but after totalling it all up I knew a takeaway would not leave us with an extra £100 to go in emergency savings pot so I said no and cooked some chicken fajitas
2) I'm grateful that we have a full fridge/freezer because I hate shopping on a weekend
3) I'm grateful that I cleaned *most* of the house this week so I don't have to face the mammoth task of cleaning the whole houseFebruary Grocery Budget: £190.75/£350.00

No more NSD's since Thurs unfortunately so still sitting at 10.
Thurs was the spa afternoon which was fab.
Fri I had to get loo roll and honey and lemon for DH as he has a cough and sore throat. Was hoping it was winter virus but he has been to the doctors and he has a chest infection - the problem is that DH had pneumonia 13 years ago and it damaged one of his lungs so he has only 1 working lung and this infection is on the side that he had pneumonia on so we have to be so careful.
Today has been a spend day as found a 2nd hand fold down table (like the one we currently have but ours is about 20 yrs old and damaged) for only £30 so have been to collect that.
Also stopped off at a garage along the way for Lucozade and bread.
I am grateful for:
1. A fab doctors surgery that actually allow on the day appointments and all the staff are lovely which is a bonus.
2. Finding a lovely table which will make family meals a lot easier.
3. Lovely weather - I have been outside and done some gardening (filled 1 of the brown garden bins)
Have a fab weekend everyone!!0 -
