SFD number 9 today. Been to an exercise class which gas made me feel virtuous. Need to check back in my targets but generally doing well. Saving instead of spending and losing weight
Thanks for the advice and input everyone.
ccl I just feel burnt out all the time. I haven't worked at home except a few hour on Sunday, since the start of term and I'm still exhausted. I wish I didn't want to be a teacher.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Evening All
Today spent a large amount of time out walking and flyering. Got wet but worthwhile. Spent an hour cleaning at the business. Had some lovely time with DD as well. At the library and walking through the park. Found £5.18 roadkill today.
Grateful for
1. A nice Mum at the library complimenting my daughter's name.
2. My Christmas gift flask. I filled it at 9.30 this morning and it had only just gone tepid by 4pm. It sounds silly but it is such a delight to me being able to have a hot drink wherever I feel like it.
3. My son being pleased with his role in the class play, he's really looking forward to it.

Hi everyone
I had a fabulous birthday yesterday but now it's back to it. Sunday on the other hand ended up being a NSD I didn't bother getting a card and Tom brought my drink when we went to the pub. So, my NSD are now at 7/15. Hopefully today will also be a NSD - I have a few chores to do (cleaning kitchen/dining room and visiting grandmother) - we were thinking of going for a nice walk today with the dog - just hope it doesn't rain too much! It might affect where we decide to go!
Edit: so, we went for a lovely walk around Rufford Park today. Today was also another NSD so I'm now at 8/15!
Mid Month Review
So, I'm just about on target for grocery budget. My limit was £300 but my target for this month was to keep it under £270. I'm on track with that - will just need to top up on perishables now.
My 2017 goal is to save, save, save! Every penny that can go towards the wedding fund will result in less credit - this can only be a good thing! I'm above 'target' at the moment which is good. I've nearly paid off my credit card too so when that is finished the extra money will go straight in the wedding fund.
1) Grateful for my fianc! taking me out for dinner last night at our wedding venue
2) My family
3) The butchers - they had chicken deals in (£10 for 10 chicken breast) so I stocked up on them! Normality can resume as can tasty dinners.February Grocery Budget: £190.75/£350.00

Not feeling great tonight - I didn't sleep well last night so haven't been brilliant today. I've just kind of survived at work. But I couldn't be bothered with the behaviour of a lot of the kids to be honest and I have been more than a little bit grumpy. Definitely looking forward to an early night tonight.
As for working from home, FMess, I try and be quite militant about it. I stay at work every night until 5pm and I don't do more than 4 hours over the weekend at home. The only other work stuff I do at home is looking for resources online and emailing photocopying. It's really tough because I'm never, ever done, but I'm entitled to as much of a life as anyone else.
Today I am grateful for:
The prospect of an early night
Being able to have a cuddle with the kids
Resisting the temptation of a takeaway, even though I'm shattered.
I know there is a lot said about teachers hours but I am interested to know how it stacks up against a job outside of education. If a regular full time job is 8.30-5.30pm on average now with 20 days holiday plus 8 stats, how does that stack up against a teaching job for hours and pay?Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler

Took back even more doorknobs, couldn't find the receipt anywhere so got the refund on a gift card. Came home to log it in my diary so I don't forget, stupid receipt fell out. Grr, could have had the cash. Slightly annoyed, but it is a shop I shop in monthly anyway but still, the money would have been nice.
Have worked out grocery shopping so far this month is £154.75 for the six of us. So about £70 a week, including the new white school shirts for DS2 in there somewhere.
Not too shoddy eh? Just under £10 a day for all meals x 6. Those YS bargains really help.
Soup made in the stockpot ready for tonight - 3 kids at after school clubs plus a parents' evening. But it does mean I will be able to do a YS swoop on the way home.
Today I am grateful for:
1 having a hot meal ready for tonight - no rushing here.
2 YS bargains - 2 freezer drawers are full of bread and it goes a long way to filling up 4 hungry boys with hollow legs.
3 Kids who read. Admittedly they would choose computer games over reading every single time, but when I tell them no more, they go pick up a book. Both DS3 and 4 are Harry Pottering and I love that they want to read books so much more advanced than the tosh they get from school as homework. Not teacher bashing in any way shape or form, just the range of books in the primary school library is dire.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

I listen to Tim Ferris' podcast and he refers to a diary called the 5 Minutre Journal. I believe the idea is you take 5 mins in the morning and 5 mins in the night to plan, reflect and be grateful on your day. Then once you've done this for an extended period of time, you notice patterns. Say adventure or seeing a certain cousin.
I looked to buy the journal however IIRC it was around £20, and I grudge paying that for a notebook however it's on my list and could be swayed.
Thought I'd bring it to your attention.
Yesterday I decided I would walk to work and run home on my lates. (weather dependant!) So that's what I did. If there were showers at work I'd run both ways. Its only 2 miles each way, so will save on petrol and keep me fit. The only thing I dont like about where we live is having to drive to work.
NSD no. 9 achieved today.
Today I am grateful for:
1) So far beating my brother at our step challenge on fitbit. He invited his friend and my bf too. I don't care about winning, as long as I'm agead of my bro!
2) Duncan managed a full lap of the park and walked really nicely on the lead most of the way.
3) Had a talk with the boss, I'm not losing hours in the big office shake-up.

Happy Tuesday even though the weather is so depressing, so grey everywhere.
Today Spendy day, paid off 38 pounds off my cards - means reached 20% of my debt gone, not bad in less than 2 months. Treated myself to favourite hair product, as a reward. Did have second thoughts but hey ho been so good last 2 months. Next treat at 40% so going to be going full steam ahead.
Bought some veg and some bath towels fell into my basket at 2 for fiver, wasn't leaving them in Morrisons - only trouble white. - Kept away from my hair dyes. Total spend 6.97 so I will take that from my food budget.
Grateful for.
Backlog of work seems to be easing.
