Been trying really hard to get rid of stuff, sold some more of mums/nanas ornaments etc, think weve kept them long enough and didnt get any joy from them so theyve gone to good homes, also donated more clothes to the elderly patients at work who dont have family/money , so many books to go, ive found a charity shop whose happy to take them so many of them have signs up saying "No books please" whats that all about surely if they sold them cheaply enough they wouls sell I know im always buying them:rotfl:

    Last 2 weeks:

    To chazza shop -
    2 x small CD racks
    canvas bag
    handbag
various toys [found in boxes in shed]
    corner cupboard
    roughly 20 books
    fabric remnants
    rug
    wooden drawer divider
    nice wicker shopping basket
bag of surplus crockery that I 'rested' in the shed about 4 months ago - hadn't missed them, bye

    Recycled-
Bag of DH's tshirts & trousers
Empty bottles & boxes from the bathroom

    Burned-
    Paperwork
    Cardboard boxes
    Bathroom wall cabinet
    Old ruined shelves
5 mouldy t-shirts found in shed
Annoying shiny wicker baskets that were once drawers in an old thingy

    Binned/chucked -
Various bathroom stuff - old shower head, gone off moisturiser, old insect repellent, old suncream, dead razors etc.

    Tip-
    Old chicken wire
    2 kids bikes
    Bike wheel
    Broken scooter
    Ruined drawing board

    Found whilst decluttering -
'New' sun block from last year, no idea we had it.
    Pine jewelery box/stand & mirror for upcycling/selling
Concertina peg rack, will revamp and either use in the house or sell
Wool winder - will probably go on ebay

    Upcycled-
Ive actually started using a lot of the stuff Ive kept 'incase I need it'. Now is that time. I gutted the bathroom and needed new shelves etc to replace what I took out.
Ive made: 2 shelves, a 5 hook towel rack with shelf and a framed mirror out of old pine furniture slats and drawer fronts, and used up shelf brackets/screws/paint/hooks etc from my DIY stash

    Sold -
    Art book
    CD's

Now Ive typed it all up I can see Ive done quite a lot, though it doesnt feel like it :o

I am a late starter. Haven't been on here for a very long time. I hope to buy a new house in 12 months and need to make the most of current one. Decluttering and beautifying are my goals. So target of a few items a day will motivate me to keep going.
Will make a start in the morning.

I have had a very productive day off today. In general, the house doesn't look too bad. This morning I was able to tidy, dust and vacuum downstairs easily, then sat down and started sorting through papers-I will be decluttering these for yeeeeeears to come .
This afternoon, desperate to add to the numbers leaving the house,I opened a wooden chest at the top of the stairs. It is hardly ever used, and holds all sorts of random treasures ;).I was able to easily find a few never-watched,still in packaging DVD's.I only own about 7 DVD's,and I think I have just donated the majority of them :D.Can't remember the last time I watched a DVD that was not belonging to the kids.
    Out of the house today:

    Donated:
761-762:2 jumpers, still with tags. They were gifts, but I was never going to wear them, and they were just making me feel guilty
    763:teddy bear
    764:cross-stitch magazine,still in plastic wrap
765:fleece that I don't know where it came from.
    766:another fleece
    767-777:11 books
    778-782:5 DVD's

    Donated for rags:
783-810:assortment of trousers bleached through work, torn clothes, old underwear, fabric scraps, and a canvas bag which I had stained with tea on the day I thought I would be very MSE and smuggle home-made cup of tea into the cinema.Twas never going to end well

    Recycled:
811:box from Build-a-bear Workshop, found while I was rummaging for clothes to donate
812:bundle of papers,as a result of sorting papers this afternoon.
    SPC #36 :staradminx 8.SPC7=£751.10 SPC8=£651.04 SPC9=£843.00 SPC10=£872.76
    Pinecone £301,Valued Opinions £10.50

Ok here goes. Hard to know where to start.
Desk in the dining room seemed a good idea. Smallish space and no distractions.

    1 Old paperwork - recycling
2 Christmas cards. Addresses noted - recycling
3 Pens. Dead ones - bin

4 Couple of magazines - take to local hospital next time I am passing. Not gone but in the departure lounge.

Tomorrow the under stairs cupboard is the target. Numbers should shoot up then!!
