I went to the charity shop today but forgot to write down what I took so here are the things I remember

    1723 - a flower pot, pretty, but I don't use it anymore
    1724 - ornament, sand castle
    1725 - ornament, pot
    1726 - ornament, turtle
    1727 - ornament, apple
    1726 - 1728 books
    1729 - 1730 keyrings
    1731 - 1739 ceramic pots
    1740 - dvd

I also sorted out postcards, photos, slides and negatives today

    1741 - 1798 - photos/slides
    1799 - 1924 - postcards
    1925 - 2005 - negative folders
    2006 - 2591 - strips of negatives

    other items from previous days

2592 -2603 newspapers, finally read them all
2604 -2605 2 videos - I bought these via ebay, and expensive. They were recorded from the TV years ago. Finally have been put on sale for the first time on dvd, so I bought them.

    2606 - cassette case

    list completed for today.

One of my rooms is completely empty for re-decoration. Once I have a new carpet down, I will be very careful what goes back in, even though most things in there had been checked recently

  • Was talking to mum yesterday, and we have agreed that all the stuff we don't want I will list on the facebook selling sites as a massive car boot job lot.

Not only do we have the few bags for the charity shop but we have even more bags out in the shed where we went through the house a few times and anything we deemed as useless to us went into a bag for us to take to a car boot to sell, but we have got so much going on this year now that we just aren't going to have the time to do a car boot.

Most of the stuff we don't want any more is lovely stuff - branded clothes, ornate glassware, unused car bits, kitchen items, but we are happy with what we have right now so this stuff is not needed by us :o

    Another very productive day today.
I spent about three hours today, sorting through papers.Dear,I am a bower bird when it comes to papers :o.

719:First I sorted out a plastic box full of papers: old brochures, old circulars from an agency I used to work for, brochures for banking, brochures for children's activities, forms for passport and visa applications, tax credit notifications, empty envelopes, gift tags for easter eggs (from the easter bunny) with the children's names written in disguised handwriting :D .............I shredded some stuff, recycled some, kept some to file, and kept some because I am not sure what to do with it yet :o

720:this job I have been itching to do for a week!Within the plastic box, there was an expanding folder which is nearly 17 years old.It was falling apart, stuff was spilling out through the split sides. It was filled to the brim with rubbish, that hadn't been added to,or looked at, for about 15 years .There were statements from an account with NSI that was closed in 2004.FOr now I have kept those, but only because they need to go through the shredder, and I didn't have that set up (was just cutting out personal info using "shredding scissors" (saw them called herb scissors on another thread-I had bought them to shred personal info with).
There was also lots of gumph to do with the government Child Trust Funds, more to do with work,banking,childcare,pre-schools,hobbies,advertising,household budget..................
(I really think taking an hour to empty an expanding folder like that deserves more than "1" on my tally today, but if I were to count every paper on its own,I would have already have decluttered enough paper on its own to complete the "10,000 items in 10,000AD" challenge, never mind 2017 items in 2017 .)
I will, however, add another point for the expanding folder itself (cos it is big and bulky),so that is 721.

722:tonight I continued the Great Paper Declutter. That was quite easy because it was about 3 collections of 3 different types of papers, and for now I have kept most of it :o.But I think some more of it will go when I actually get around to coralling all the "keep" papers and putting them in a proper filing box.

Got a busy weekend,so not sure how much decluttering I will get done this weekend.

feeling positive today so once the chores are done I might see if the old laptop will boot up as i want to start going through the cds. In my youth i bought loads and can't remember when i last listened to them. We are talking 20 years plus! I am hoping to 'burn' the songs i like onto an ipod and copy on a usb stick as well. Then sell the rest as job lot on ebay.

My grandads possessions have been put in the places we wanted them in our house and the old furniture is sitting around while we decide what to do with it :o

And last night i made good work of the 8 leftover from new year beers i had in my room :D :rotfl:

Even though they weren't taking up much space, I'm certainly glad to be rid of them because i hardly drink anymore now.

Also, a tiny handbag, a pair of cheapo dolly shoes and a shirt all in the bin as i was sick all over them...

I have got a day off tomorrow, and one thing I thought I might start then,is decluttering the cupboard of doom in my son's bedroom. In preparation, today I pulled everything out of there to see what I will be dealing with .Mostly clothes and toys I would like to try and sell.So far in this declutter,I have only sold one item. The rest has been donated/given away.

So this afternoon I photographed a few items to sell, and tonight I started listing stuff on Facebook. But that has been a protracted affair because the wifi signal keeps dropping off of my phone.I have been jumping up every few minutes to reset the internet.I guess this is the sort of thing people are talking about when they say they dont need the hassle of trying to sell stuff-easier to give it away.I will give selling a chance.then will probably end up donating anyway.

Only a couple of odd-bods out of the cupboard this afternoon:
    Binned:
    723:old,thinned out pillow

    Recycled:
724:box for dust-buster (which I think went to the tip a few months ago)
    725:Argos catalogue
    726:empty body-scrub tube

727:Yesterday,I had also binned an old Tangle-teaser brush.
