It feel like I have spent a whole lot of time getting nothing done today.Parts of the house are a mess (partly because, with it being Mother's day,I didn't get my Sunday to blitz the house like I normally do),so that is getting on my nerves. On top of that,I seem to have spent an inordinate amount of time listing stuff for sale.If I was to count up the hours I have spent listing the couple of items I have (with photographing, uploading, internet dropping out, etc),it really is not a very good hourly rate I am getting.Yet,I persist
.
So,during the school day today I have:
728:emptied another plastic box, mostly cook-books.I browsed through each one. Some of the recipes I have never, and probably will never, want to cook.I did find my Home Economics cookbook, with my hand-written recipes, dated 1983 (:eek:),so had to keep that
729:emptied another plastic box of mostly kid's drawings, but also a box containing my Mother's day cards and drawings from 2014-keep!
Spent just over an hour sorting/photographing a large bag of clothes to sell, and then just under another hour listing thr infernal stuff. It should be easy to list, especially when you do it on a smart-phone.Can sort of list on multiple sites at once, but that just means I get in trouble multiple times:rotfl:.At one stage I had just finished listing an item one 10 different facebook selling sites.About 5 minutes later I got a message asking what size a dress was-doh!Couldn't see how to correct all 10 listings with price simultaneously,so had to go to each selling manually and edit.
I only ended up listing 2 different items in all that time
Before collecting kids from school,I donated 22 books to the charity shop,so they were items 730-751.

All rubbish and recycling out, apart from the box to the new monitor I bought a few weeks back doh! :rotfl:
A massive lot of stuff will be taken away as we have somehow used a lot of things lately. The glass recycling box is full as we have glass jars from prepping food and the glass alcohol bottles form mums birthday and mothers day.
All recycling bags full to bursting.
I have already put the feelers out on the selling sites to see if anyone would want to buy our car boot job lot rather than trying to list each item individually or get rid of it at charity shop/tip/in the bin, and a few have asked for a picture. I mean, there is way too much to list individually so it would just be one picture of all the items piled up on top of each other just for the picture's sake, but then we have to conform to peoples needs and wants if we ever stand a chance of shifting our wares, right? :lipsrseal  :rotfl:0 -

Hi Trendyjenny, welcome to our lovely friendly thread.
30 years of stuff is a challenge, but you will get there-slow and steady and all that.
Previously I had seen a couple of references on here and other threads about the Toothbrush Principle, and I had to google it.The TP is that a person never loses their toothbrush because it has a place,(usually in or close to the bathroom) to be stored,we always put it back there,so it can always be found.I think the theory is that if we applied that logic to everything we own (everything having a place to be stored, close to where it is used, and always being returned there),then life runs alot more smoothly.
There is a book, will see if I can find the link:
