  • I initially thought I wouldn't get anywhere near a target of 2017 items, but I'm going to go for it! :D I thought I did a good job last year of ridding myself of unnecessary stuff, but I just keep finding more. Last night I came across a big pile of catalogues, brochures and datasheets from an old job where the company closed down nearly ten years ago. Really is mad that I've kept them this long, but they are no more!

    73-74. Storage boxes x 2
    75-106. Text books x 32
    107-108. DVDs x 2
    109-178. Catalogues/brochures/datasheets x 70

I've got my eye on a few more things to go this weekend.

    Afternoon all

DDS bedroom is now done. I have found a plastic storage box with a cracked bottom and filled it with odd glasses, ornaments and mugs. I also have a mattress topper, Candlewick bedspread, and bath mat to donate and a pair of PJs to recycle.

I also polished off the last of the gluwein last night so bottle recycled.

    Today's so far

    31. Finished deodorant so new one from stock pile. (No more stock piling this year, going to use all the free samples and back log)
    32. Sons football got the bag of sausage rolls heated this morning

Went through emails and unsubscribed to the 20 junk emails I seem to have attracted

I have deleted candy crush off of my iPad. To help with time wasting and get organised and fit this year Also so I read my stash off books so I can pass them on and get rid

    33. 34. Returned slippers to Costco and cardigan. Didn't really need them

Oooohhh,I am soooo thrilled with my "outages"today :j:j.
After having the extension done, all our kitchen whitegoods were integrated. It meant we were left with the problem of disposing of a large fridge. Our council charge £25 for collection of 1-3 items, and I really didn't want to pay that.So a non-working fridge has been sitting at our front door, unused, but on view for all in the street to see, since about Dec 2015 ,and we moved back into the house May 2016 :o.
Today,it went!!So thrilled with the space that has cleared.

Driven to the tip from house today:
    68: fridge-freezer :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:D
69: glass casserole dish (missing lid)

Also to the tip, from the loft:
26:non-working plasma ball (thoughOH was determined to keep electricity cable to it icon_rolleyes.gif)
27:light with light-shade,removed from front room when decorated about 4 years ago. There is another one up there somewhere
    28:small clock from old kitchen
    29:very old fire-guard
    30:electric kettle
    31:dust buster
    32:children's hair-dryer
    33:extremely old alarm clock
    34:carseat.
    35:toy pushchair
    36:small tv
37:pop-up tent, played with by my nearly 15yo when she was little, but now gone mouldy in storage.:(
38:piece of wood, which I think was part of a sideboard.Same nearly15yo used to put stickers al over this sideboard, which was in her room.WHen we got rid of the sideboard, she would not let go of the sticekrs. So for a long time this piece of board with stickers stayed in her bedroom. Then it was eventually transferred to the loft, and forgotten about. Now gone.

Did I mention I finally got rid of a fridge?:D

If you remember I was doing time rather than number of items. I am just checking in to say that this weeks has been done.

I have sorted through one of the tubs with material etc. in and thrown out projects I am unlikely to finish and the cross stitch that the instructions are nowhere to be seen. I have put some larger pieces of material on eBay. I have actually done it now and not just put on the side to do later. I am sure that if i did not do it now then it would gather dust!

I have also used the paint that was in another tub to paint dd1 notice board... it has been sat there since before Xmas and fixed the key ring and given it her back. I am also going to sort out her tea light holder once i get myself a glass of wine!

I have done more than my allotted time but it is nice to get some 'small' bits done even if the impact is not as noticeable as the material!.
Don’t put it down - put it away!

Am now up to 28 items, so a little short of where I *should* be to achieve 2017 items. I do have bids on 2 fleabay items, so they should hopefully go (along with some packaging) and I have also priced up a lot of items for a local NNS next month - and am hoping that min 50 items / bundles of items go then (hopefully more). Am looking to post my lists of what has gone and where at month ends (ish) :D

    22. Used up sticker book
    23. Salad tongs
    24. Recipe book

I do the same if its 'rubbish' that hasn't been thrown out straight away then as I see it, it becomes part of the house so goes on the list when it has been de-cluttered.

Did you not get on with the soap nuts? I keep thinking about using them.

I love reading everyones lists (is that perverse? :rotfl:) gives me inspiration.

Regarding the soap nuts, I just forgot about them and when I found them they were falling apart so I decided to throw them.

I like reading everyone's lists too - today's list follows this post.

I'm exhausted now as I've got a bad knee, and that doesn't help my back which is painful now. At one point I was sitting on the floor and wasn't sure how I could get up. It took a few attempts - I finally pulled myself up by grabbing the sofa bed which has metal sides as I couldn't go onto my knees. I feel I am falling apart some days.

    258-259 old wallpaper
    260-265 booklets
    266-267 envelopes
    268-272 glue sticks
    269-276 craft books
    277-278 folders
    278-279 puzzles
    280-284 key rings
    285-304 miscellaneous bits and bobs
    305-311 stickers
    312-351 buttons
    352-392 leaflets
    393-420 craft items
    421-475 pieces of card
    476-548 paperwork

I have lots of paperwork sitting by me which I will go through later.

Some of this is poetry. I have a lot of poems and other writings sorted into different folders, plus a copy of each one in a box - I would hate for any of these to go missing although now with everything on my computer too I think I am safe.

Several years ago, before computers, a friend and fellow poet told me that when she fell out with her boyfriend he threw all of her poems onto the fire. What a terrible thing to do to someone - I know I would be devastated at the loss.

In 2015 I typed up my oldest poems which I wrote all through my childhood but still have the originals. I think it is time to let the originals go - I have held onto them for decades.

I also have works in progress that will need to be finished, typed up, and printed out but as my printer no longer works it may not be any time soon

My printer will appear on the list soon when I have decided how I can dispose of it.
