spekySquarehead, you are not alone, l think we are all a bit guilty of this.
Murie so glad the graduation was all and more than you hoped for.
Dribs and drabs of presents being organised here, had a brainwave for DS2 and got him breakdown recovery cover, as his car is 5 years old now.
DS1 is getting a subscription to the online Guardian, his preferred newspaper. DDIL asked for a deep fat fryer, and DD ...no idea!
Off to York tomorrow hope this blasted rain stops, York has a habit of becoming sub aqua and my car is not amphibious.
Right, off to read 'Bear Hunt' to DGN again.(and again)0 -
I don't really have a colour scheme. Nothing I have matches, I just get the kids to chuck it all on. It's a mix of handmade decs by the kids, old decs ive had for years, some nice glass ones my mum gave me, and ones ive picked up over the last couple of years. I love individual baubles that have caught my eye or have a special meaning to me. The only thing that matches is the white/silver Tinsel I have on it that is also on my pictures in the living room etc.
My tree is a bit tacky, but it makes me feel good every year to see it all there. As we unwrap each bauble we usually have a wee chat about where we got it fom, or who gave us it, or when they made it etc.
That's pretty much our tree too, though we've only had a tree for 5 years so there isn't much heritage yet.
I love the Elf being called Elvis!
I've made some progress, I've got all the big presents now and just need the small ones. And I've cleaned out the fridge and defrosted the ice box, which really needed doing and was part of my pre-Christmas cleaning plans.
My other half got me a really cute badge/pin, it's an RSPB one that's a robin in a hat and scarf:) I have it on my coat and it makes me smile every time I look at it.0 -
Speky we save a set amount every month for Christmas ...need to increase it as I always end up spending more. I start with good intentions and make a budget for everyone but it's my favourite time of year and I am always over budget (but not so that I can't pay for what needs paying)£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120

Specky- I think we have all gone over our budget at some point, especially when we see the offers that come out in the last few days before Christmas (or is that just me lol?).lovin' this site!

If you look on the Freebies section of mse there is a link for a free Hive hub and 2 free bulbs if you are a British Gas Rewards member ( just a quick sign up if you are a BG customer). I have just signed up for mine, although we have Amazon Echo tech throughout the house (that Im not sure Hive is compatible with so I will have to check that out). Its worth pointing out that its not Hive Heating- only lighting. It only needs a broadband connection.
I thought it might be a 'techy' present for kids or OH's etc, or just a good freebie! Its apparently worth £118lovin' this site!

Thanks Murie,
Hope some folks can benefit. We aren't with British Gas but appreciate you linking - not sure if my Mum uses them so will send it her anyway in case
Had a bit of a sad morning as kept thinking about my nan - hasn't helped being home on. Thursday as that's the day I used to go round every week to do all her cleaning/shopping etc and I've worked a lot of Thursdays since she died so not thought of it as much as today.
Took my mind off it a bit by making a couple of cards that needed doing.
Hope no one got flooded last night - seems to have been bad in parts. We have had lots of wind but little rain so far. Had to chase the recycling bins down the street though haha
Nipping to the local shopping centre once other half is home from work - need to collect a parcel from Debenhams and also want to see if Primark have the tiny baubles I want for my new LED branch tree.£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120 -
Afternoon everyone,
STOKIEBECKS glad you found your friends present. Sorry you have had a rough day thinking about your nan, they do have a special place in our hearts don't they? My nan died in 2000 but I still miss her even now, especially at Christmas because she always spent it with us. Your baskets look great btw
JAKESMUM I hope you haven't succumbed to the lurgy and hope DD is completely better now
MRSINVISIBLE hope you have a great time in York
MURIE ooh I'm a rewards member I wonder if it would benefit me, worth a try isn't it? Thankyou
