I've started on the Christmas Heroesreally fancied chocolate and didn't want to go to the shop. I'm so weak.
Our chocolates have been and gone Peppa - don't worry! We snaffled two tubs in our house within about a week of bringing them home. Will wait to see if they go on offer again - if not I will buy the one box.
Welcome NargleBlast - love the name.
Vintage - I agree. Use the baubles for different rooms. I'm trying to keep a theme for each room this year. Living room this year will be black, silver, white......hallway is whatever goes.......and kitchen is green, red, gold. :-)
Well sister arrived with the TV so my little minx is 100% done now. Now I can start focusing on my boy Ben.
Another one who sat and watched an Xmas movie yesterday - I cant remember the name of it but she was told to shut down a company and instead brought it back to life selling jumpers.was quite good. I have Operation Christmas to watch now though and I think I taped that Heavenly Christmas yesterday. :rotfl:
Time to find me again0 -
I've not yet managed to find a personalised book for the little 'un, but I have had a rather productive and festive weekend so far. I went into Birmingham with my MIL again, as she was desperate to try and find me something for my Christmas present. We stopped off in the new Hotel Chocolat caf! first, which I had discovered quite by chance on my half day earlier in the week. I had a clementine and salted caramel hot chocolate, which looked absolutely gorgeous, and tasted good, if rather rich, but was quite messy to drink. MIL brought me a really cute festive jumper with 2 deer kissing under the mistletoe, and we had a lovely morning together.
When I got home, I had some lunch then popped to a craft centre with my mum. There, I finally managed to get my secret santa present sorted! Initially, I was considering getting a miniature bottle of Chase gin or vodka for my secret Santa, but later found a cute little reindeer tealight holder with a handmade chocolate in the hollow where the tealight goes. (Thinking about it, I could even have made that a part of my best friend's present as well- I'm still not sure what to get her).
When I got home, I was feeling in a very festive mood, so put some Christmas music on and started writing my Christmas cards. I was somewhat interrupted when hubby came home from work hungry, but will probably write more today after doing the food shop.0 -
And the winner of the 'who will put their tree up first?' competition is NIC
. I must admit I nearly put mine together this week because I wasn't sure if I had all the bits for the second tree but I didn't do it because I knew I wouldn't bear to take it apart again and the house isn't ready for the tree to go up yet.
Welcome to the thread NARGLEBLAST.

Lol, well it's up but not up up. If you know what I mean? Just can't be bothered to take it down again and put it back up. It's sitting all bare in the corner.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Hi,recent posts have got me thinking. What colour schemes do you all have for Christmas? I love it all so much that I have different trees in different colours where ever I can squeeze them.Multi coloured in the porch, gold in the hall, red in the sittingroom and a silver tree and a scandi tree in the kitchen diner. I had navy and silver at my last house too but not enough room here.

I only usually have one tree but this year we're having two so I'm going for vintage in the front room (7ft tree, vintage glass style baubles in all different colours) and in the back room (living room at one end of the kitchen leading into the garden) I'm going traditional red, green and gold. Mainly really because they're the decs I've got but this year can be the trial run for future years. I'm very excited about having two trees - next year I might even have one in the entrance but it would have to be either a flat back one or a thin one.
Does anyone decorate outside? I did the wooden rustic reindeer last year but I'm not really feeling them now we're in a more modern house. I haven't got an outside plug socket so I'm a bit limited with lighting. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Afternoon everyone, I only have one tree now and its decorated with Red, Bright Green and White, but I am a bit bored this year and was thinking the Frozen colours (the film) of a pale blue, a dark blue and pink and white (I know totally bonkers I don't know where it came from) but anyway I cant find anything so will probably end up with the usual. I used to decorate my conservatory as an ice palace with a white tree and everything white and silver and really decorate it to the nines, but now just put icy decs up on the ceiling. We babysat Thumper last night he made me giggle, so grown up, he said 'would you like to sit next to me Nana?' We had great fun including playing with bath crayons in the bath then DD1 and I panicked thinking it wouldn't come off the bath :rotfl: the more we tried to scrub the more Thumper drew and of course the dark blue was the most fun!! Does anyone know how I can watch Christmas films as my sky box isn't working does anyone watch any on Nowtv, Amazon Prime, or Netflix?
WELL DONE NIC BEING OUR NO 1 :rotfl:
PEPPAPIG I used to decorate outside we had some beautiful reindeer with white lights that moved, people used to come by in cars to watch them. I think I mentioned last week to someone that I took them all to the tip when exH left, which now I regret that I didn't offer them free to someone!!
CREATIVEGAL ooh that hot chocolate sounds gorgeous, I had the Salted Caramel Cappucino yesterday from Costa#103 1p Saving Challenge Back to Front 293.94/665.95Currently Reading: Christmas at Cedarwood Lodge - Rebecca Raisin Debt Free thanks to MSE0 -

VULPIX my colour scheme is blue, silver and purple as they're my favourite colours but I have various shades of each on the tree so everything from lilac to bright purple and light blue to navy.
Our tree growing up was always multicoloured (including the lights) which is some ways is easier because if things break etc then whatever you have left still 'matches'. I still am tempted to go back to multicoloured one day as it looks so cheerful to me!
I do only decorate the living room at the moment but I would like to branch out into maybe the kitchen or the hall because everywhere else seems bare in comparison!0 -
We only have a little house so just one tree for us...last three years we had burgundy, goldy orange and lime green. Decided to have a change this year and have gone for red, green and white. Hopefully will look ok once it's all up on the tree. Will try and find a photo of our old decorations to post. It sounds a lot worse than it was :rotfl:
Had a nice day with my other half, mum and her partner yesterday. Went to a little local craft fair and the local garden centre to browse their Christmas decorations. I also picked up a 2ft LED branch tree in Dunelm and then we watched the light switch on where we live and they had a great fireworks display.
I now only have 9 days off work until Christmas (if I end up doing the same amount of hours as the past few weeks) so much to do haha and 9 days off seems like barely anything£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120 -
Working shifts means I don’t often get an extended break over Christmas, but this year I am off 24, 25, 26 and 27 December, working New Year instead. I always have a week’s annual leave at the beginning of December and I use that week to get ahead with cards and presents. Mid December (around 15th/16th) I will put the decs up. Friday 22nd my OH will take our son to collect the keys of his new flat while I pick up the Christmas food order from Sainsbury’s then crack on with cleaning, tidying and cooking for when our neighbours come round that evening for our Solstice meal. Saturday 23 I am working a 12 hour shift and at midday Christmas Eve I will declare Sod It Point. If I haven’t got it or done it by then - Sod it. Christmas starts at that point! One life - your life - live it!0
