Morning all,
It was me that was looking online at jewellery at work (tut tut). Hope you found something nice. My order is on it's way which is exciting.
My Boots order is in store now, so I will go collect it tomorrow as I have the rest of the week off work.
Picked up the two tea advent calendars from Waitrose last night. Will wrap my sisters one - we don't do gifts but thought this would be something nice for her.
Will talk to DH tonight about his side of the family and their gifts. I think it's high time he took a part in choosing and buying, so will give him the budget and let him decide. He has Mum and Dad, Brother and SIL, Sister and BIL plus 3 nieces (13,10,9) and 3 nephews (17,10,18months). We have already got the 18 month old something.
I've not been feeling too great lately and the added pressure of thinking what to buy (when you rarely get an acknowledgement) is getting to me. Was originally thinking of a firepit for BIL and SIL and an Echo dot for SIL and BIL. These are in our Amazon basket but it's quite a chunk of money. Every year without fail BIL gets DH a bottle of whiskey and SIL gets DH a bottle of port, both of which are well received but when it's every year without fail.... If I could I would scrap buying for adults (like DSis and I have done) but DH doesn't want to.
Cattycat - I agree that the presents sound lovely x
Have a good day all,

Oooo DH is getting narky
door keeps going with my christmas deliveries :rotfl:
Yesterday saw all of MIL's wool turn up, its lovely and softand today BIL and sis' special hot chocolate arrived! looks yummy but i can't smell it through the wrapping  (yes I tried
) think they will be happy with that. Will get it all wrapped and give it too them in 2 weeks when they come down for dad's big 70 so i don't have to post it (can maybe chuck a bottle of wine in it as well if I can be bothered to go stand in that god forsaken aisle looking at bottles of things I know nothing about).

Snorkypants - this is what we have each year. Its a boned and rolled turkey. We used to get ours from the local butcher and I would pick it up on Christmas Eve early morning and pay cash. The last time I did this (about 5 years ago) it came to £61 for a 8-10lb turkey. Luckily I had just enough cash on me, but I vowed not to go there again. Waitrose do one which we've had before, but it's smaller. About £45?? It's an indulgence compared to a regular turkey but it does take up less fridge space and is easier to carve.
HTH

I hadn't even thought about fridge space! Thanks Coxy, that's really helpful:)freespirit66 wrote: »Afternoon everyone,

Bought other half a coat yesterday go into Sainsbugs today and it is 25% off all clothes! Didn't have it in our local store so had to have it refunded (she wouldn't let me refund and buy same one back) and then ordered one online to click and collect. Hi everyone,
I am loving all the Christmas chat and planning.
I have managed to sort through a couple of boxes of Christmas gifts and bits that I found on top of the wardrobe. I was pleasantly surprised at the contents, of which I had forgotten. We managed to get the landing/stair carpet fitted today. It looks gorgeous and is very soft.
Just ordered 1 new door knob for the kitchen doors. If I like it I will order enough for all the cupboards/drawers so we can update it. Thinking of changing the tiles, or not having tiles and just having a glass splashback near the hob. Its a minefield lol x Just waiting for a price for a new kitchen and bathroom floor too. Would like the living room painting and a new carpet before christmas too but not sure if the funds will stretch that far x0 -
Nic/Free have been to the post office today
- Happy early Christmas haha

Morning, looks like it's Christmas on QVC.
Confession time, I was in such a bad mood with solicitors, estate agents etc that I might of just ordered myself the Libertys advent calendar and NOTHING is going to make me feel guilty *goes and looks in bin for stale bread for toasting*
Tbh I dipped into my competition winnings pot, so technically free?0 -
GYD thanks for the reminder about QVC, I'd forgotten. Def a free advent if it was comp wins so no guilt needed!
0462 I love newly laid carpet, I'm hoping to persuade DH that we should have carpet in the bedroom, we've got hard floors all through at present.
Welcome to the thread CATTYCAT, how about those decs that are like big white Pom poms but made out of paper? I'm sure there are tutorials on YouTube. They can look really effective and take up lots of room too, I was thinking about doing/buying some myself.
PATENTGIRL I was wondering how you get your winnings when I saw the scratch cards in Poundland so thanks for the info. I bought some in B&M last year (or might have been the year before) and didn't even think about where to collect any winnings - there weren't any so it didn't matter lol.
FREE have you booked that flu jab now?
Well I've ordered mum's family tree necklace and I sorted out my pressie cupboard (a bit) and I bought some wrapping paper so I can join in with the wrapping party. Been watching QVC for about ten minutes and I'm fed up with the woman's voice already, she sounds like she's on 'Just a Minute' and is trying not to hesitate. I wish she'd avoid repetition! Think I'll dip in and outIt's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
Good Morning all,
I found a few links on facebook to stocking fillers so was browsing those last night. Nothing new jumped out at me. I have got the kids geyser mentoe tubes for their stockings and I may be a little bit excited to try them out lol.
We off out today to West Midland Safari Park, cannot wait. DD is full of a cold and cough but we hoping the fresh air will do her some good.
Hoping to pick my purchases up from The Entertainer today, if not it will be tomorrow. May even nip out on my own for a couple of hours and see what gifts I can find.
Still looking for a new christmas tree, cannot believe it will be november in 1 week!
WRAPPING PARTY- Is this saturday, we aim to start at 7.30/8pm. Just gives everybody time to get kids to bed etc. Get your christmas tunes/film on, get your gifts and wrap and your laptop on so we can all chat xx Looking forward to it x
GIYD- I cannot blame you for purchasing the Libertys advent calendar. Think you deserve it with all this stress.0 -
