Freespirit & Nic I can confirm that poundland are stocking the nescafe gingerbread lattes managed to snag the last few in my local so if you can't find any you are welcome to them
didn't get to do as much as I'd planned today as ended up spending nearly 2 hrs at the opticians and I still have to go back again
ds game cost me the grand total of 59p in the end
Poundland also had some elf on the shelf themed bits not as good as the range but some ok stuff if your looking for some cheap extrasthis year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0 -
Jakes Mum,I think thats a lovely idea for a gift for your MIL,very thoughtful.

Ahh thank you all, i'll run it past DH but I think im going to go for that and get her some of her favourite choccies from hotel chocolat to go in it too so if she is a bit peeved at least that will placate her loool, thinking about it, better get some minstrels too!
Hobbycraft have the WI cotton yarn on 3 for 2 at the minute so I will oder some of that for her and see if I can pick up some needles that are not 'everyday' needles IYSWIM, I know she has a set for knitting in a circle all ready so will see what else is out there
STILL stuck on FIL, cmoooon brain! you can think of something! (I hate getting a really good gift for MIL and a bit of a rubbish one for FIL I always think he must be a bit disappointed that we couldn't think of anything)

Jakes-mum as both a knitter and a crocheter I think that sounds a lovely gift for your MIL. A crafter never has enough stash and the WI yarns in particular are lovely.
I am liking the sound of the salted caramel matchmakers. Must look out for those. Thank you to whoever mentioned the cheese advent which I have diarised - what a saddo! It's for DH - he had a craft beer one from Costco last year which was well received. I treated myself to the loccitane one last year and it was great. Not sure whether I will get one this year, can't make up my mind.
This weekend I'm off to a craft Fayre so I'm hoping to get some inspiration for my mums gift. She will be with me though so it could be tricky!

Thanks all for the suggestions. I'll try the card factory when I'm in Glasgow tomorrow.
And those matchmakers sound delish!0 -
Morning all!
Making fairly steady progress with my present stash but have DNs 21st birthday next week so a lot of energy is going into that as I promised Dsis that I would make banners and rosettes etc for his party. (Why do I do these things??!) Then its DHs birthday on 6th Nov so Christmas will be on the back burner til after that. I want everything sorted, including the food shopping, by the beginning of December so I can budget for our trip to Prague. That's the plan anyway...
I will keep my eyes out for gingerbread lattes too, although Im fairly sure I've not seen them for quite some time on out Poundland. If I do I will gladly post them on to you Nic and Free.
GTQ- hope you are making progress with the flat purchase.
GYD- ditto except house not flat.
Sammy-kaye- all OK as you are quiet?
Princess kitty- hope you are all over your bug now x
Peppa- enjoy wet Wales (sorry Sammy x)
Mandco- I noticed that Groupon are doing a Beauty Box subscription for £39 for 6 months (plus £15 p+p) and I thought of your DD.
Jakes mum- I think that's a lovely gift for your MIL ( even though I am someone who is allergic to anything that involves knitting sewing or crochet ).
Vulpix- GREAT- now I need to go and hunt down salted caramel matchmakers even though I know they wont have a very long life once they enter this house!
Free- glad you are feeling better xlovin' this site!

Morning everyone. What a week!
Mystery hospital appointment on monday turned out to be a 48hr ECG. Horrible it was too. My skin really hates adhesives so I've come up in massive red welts from the pads and tape. And I couldn't sleep for 2 nights because holter monitors are not comfortable. And I couldn't have a shower for days! So that made me completely miserable.Dermatologists cancelled again on tuesday (that's like the 4th time now). Echo on wednesday after I took the ECG monitor off. Echos are not dignified! Lying there with nothing but a gown on my top half while the woman dug an ultrasound thing into my ribs. Anyway, non suprisingly I've ended up exhausted and feeling rubbish.
Must distract myself with Christmassy things. We're hopefully going to a big craft fair on sunday - although the weather forecast doesn't look wonderful. Hope to get some ideas there.
Mum's advent calendar is coming on. Just need to actually get to shops and buy the ideas I have. Just realised this morning I'll actually have to wrap 25 little presents before December 1st. Better get a move on. :rotfl:
Hope everyone is well. xxSave“In 900 years of time and space, I’ve never met anyone who wasn’t important”

Ahh Coxy, isn't that the truth! I am a firm believer in the rule that a lady never discloses the size of her stash :rotfl: only problem is i'm looking at the 20 caron cakes I have on the side and getting depressed that I have to give one away to her :rotfl:
Just been having a look on ravelry as MIL usually uses DK and the yarn i'm looking at is actually Aran (a much nicer yarn if you ask me!) so i'm going to print off some free childrens cardigan and blanket patterns for her so she can't say 'but I dont have any patterns for this!' and try and give it to her sister instead who has recently taken knitting and crochet back up after years of refusing to touch a pair of needles!
Ordered BIL and sisters hot chocolate from Pip in WalesI have Belgian, White and Raspberry flavours winging their way to me
also might have accidentally ordered a couple of DS as well
Niece and Nephew both want cash so thats nice and easy
I think DH and I have decided we are just going to have some money each for christmas to spend when we see something we like as neither of us want anything, I have got him a few terrys chocolate oranges from when they were on 3 for 2 and he has got me a pack of maltesers (I know we're really rock and roll! :rotfl: ) but I just didnt see the point in buying each other stuff we didnt want
So who is left on my shopping list? oh yes! its the bloomin MEN!
FIL and father, despite saying I wasn't going too cos he has his old faithfuls, i'm very tempted to buy FIL a really decent socket set as he and his mate like to do up cars as a bit of a hobby and i'm not sure if he has a really nice, good quality set (he was a builder not a mechanic so all his old faithfuls are building tools IYSWIM), wonder if he'd be pleased with that :think:SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £25/£10000 -
Jake's mum if you think she might be offended to receive a gift " to give away" so to speak perhaps choose materials and include a pattern she could use for herself? Just an idea£2 Savers Club for 2022 #120
