Hi All,
I had loads of posts to catch up on, you've all been really busy!
I've done two small Christmas things, my Mum is seeing my Godmother at the end of the month and I'm seeing Mum on Wednesday. So I've got my Godmothers gift sorted so that Mum can pass it on to her for me. I wasn't very organised though, I normally go to TKMaxx so I can get her posher toiletries while staying on budget. But I left it too late and had to do the best I could with Sainsburys this morning. So she has gifts from the Mandara Spa range, smells lovely but no idea if it's any good or not. Has anyone tried it? Don't tell me if it's rubbish, I'll feel awfully guilty!
I also just ordered my other half a small joke present - he likes cooking and loves wrestling so I've ordered him the WWE cookbook "Can you take the heat?". It was out years ago so I've had to get it second hand but it does say it's like new. Hopefully it will be really cheesy, silly and fun.0 -
Thanks VULPIX you little gem, they're going in my diary as soon as I finish this post. Have you considered buying the Asda snow globe on line and collect in store? At least that way you'll know you're not making the journey for nothing and if you open it while you're there and don't like it you can send it straight back
I find men really difficult to buy for too. Sadly my dad is no longer with us and FIL died before I met DH but we do have two teenage grandsons, two little grandsons plus son, two sons in law and brother in law. We tend to cop out and get chocs and Primark vouchers for eldest DGSs, the littlies are easy and BIL usually gets something beer, garden or wildlife related (one year I did an adopt a donkey thing for him and another year a magazine subscription, a bug house, bird houses etc) this year the theme is Guinness so he's got a Guinness and tankard set and two lots of different Guinness chocs so far. No idea yet for son but SIL1 has a hamper of toiletries and SIL2 has a pack of hot sauces and a pair of lounge trousers with grumpy all over them. Honorary SIL has the same as BIL so I only had to think of that once.
JAKESMUM glad you got the HP glasses, was telling my sis about you looking for them this morning.
I've ordered four of these little houses from Hobbycraft and I'm going to invite sis, mum and DD1 round for a Christmas crafting morning to decorate them. http://www.hobbycraft.co.uk/mache-christmas-chalet-15-cm/608481-1000
Right, I'm off to put those dates in the diary. It's the most wonderful timeof the year :0 -
ha ha, thank you ladies, DD will be pleased with her round glasses, but must remember to ask the mother for an eyeliner to draw a scar! As a completely non makeup wearing individual i'm a bit rubbish when it comes to things like this :rotfl:
Well after saying I really need to get on with DD's halloween outfit and bag . . . I made a Finding Dory quilt for my great nephew instead  I can't even say its something to strike of the christmas list as it's just something I said I was going to make a couple of months ago and finally got round tooso a totally unproductive day in regards of what I actually needed to get done! :rotfl:
Now to decide, shall I continue with the cardigan or shall I put that too one side and start the Harry Potter scarf
Oh and if anyone can think of something for me and DH to have for tea tonight that would also be great as i've took nothing out, have nothing in the freezer that can just be chucked in the oven and cant go out to dinner cos the kids have school dinner so only have sandwiches at tea time :rotfl: oh and can't order a pizza as we had that last night!SPC No 002 SPC(3) £285/£250 (4) £519.84/£500 (5) £768.32/£500 (6) £911.30/£600 (7) £913.23/£600 (8) £1184.82/£750 (9) £2864.04/£750 (10) £3846.25/£1000 (11) £1779.72/£1000 (12) £1596.55/£1000 (13) £1534.70/£1000 (14) £775.60/£1000 (15) £700.20/£1000 (16) £2081.34/£1000 (17) £1691.15/£1000 (18) £25/£10000 -

VULPIX I agree with PEPPAPIG about click and collect at Asda for the snowglobe so you don't make a trip and its not there. You sound very organised with your presents and wrapping

they also have the alder hey charity merchandise/clothing in
sainsbury's toy sale starts tomorrow just in case you missed all the advertising typical I have extra hours at work 1st thing but might pop in after and see if there's anything worth getting
Will try and pop back in a bit to catch up properly tc allthis year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0 -
Nic and Free you should petition the company to start making the gingerbread lattes again. I bet you are not the only people to love them.
Sadly the Asda website says the snow globe is out of stock now. Will keep checking.
Peppa those little houses are so cute and what a lovely thing to do,I might copy that idea.
At last!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DS has a job. Would you believe it teaching again at the school he used to work at. Such a relief. He was finding it very hard as he has been out of the country for 2 years, even though he has the Canadian equivalent of the Police search needed to work with children. He will be moving back to Oxford. I will miss him,he is good company and a great help in the house and when I need heavy stuff lifting in the garden.
Tomorrow I am off to Chatsworth House with my friend for the day. They have an exhibition of Fashion at the moment.
