• Morning all

Not much christmas prep done here but hubby is now getting on board - he has been working a few extra shifts na dpicking up some grey fleet money so that is going into the pot ready for us going away in December - Im looking forward to it - I enjoy some time with just the two of us without the kids to be honest. Its nice to browse

I went to a local big B&M with my mother in law the other day too and she picked up a few bits but we were on a time restriction so we are going back on Tuesday when Im paid so I will pick up a few more bits then and hopefully I will be mostly done.

Still on the look out for Hollys TV or screen, Ben has decided he wants a £90 scooter :eek:as his main present but then hasn't asked for much more else after that.

Owen booked time off for us to go to the Birmingham NEC bike show in November so we are planning on taking Ben with us as well to have a day with him ( so we might take him out of school for the day - he has perfect attendance so far so one day wont hurt)

oh and I restarted competitions again and within a week have had two wins - one for tea and a brita filter jug (which is ironic as I only said to my husband about drinking more water the day before) and then had another win of a years supply of fancy kitchen roll (Regina Blitz) and £200 worth of high street vouchers so I am pretty much done now :-) :D:D:D

Right off to do some more competitions and make my christmas card list.

Oh and I need to update gift lists because my MIL has decided to buy hubby PJs and slippers for his christmas present and im sure I had them down.
Time to find me again
• I’ve left it too long to post and now don’t have the time to catch up! I’ve been busy getting more Christmas presents in the Boots 3 for 2 sale and adding to my list. Does anyone know if anywhere sells the red and green M&M’s near Christmas? There is an idea for a Christmas present I’d like to make on Pinterest but I need red and green M&M’s. I fear you can only get them in America!

The comments below are where I last got up to (I write my updates in a Word doc when I get the chance), apologies for anything I’ve missed in the last few pages but I simply don’t have the time to catch up!

mandco that’s the problem isn’t it, then next year we’d want to buy everything all over again!

freespirit I thought of you when mandco mentioned the white stags head jar!

Hi and welcome Coxy! Firstly I am so sorry to hear about your nephew, it is never a good time whenever it happens but anything around Christmas-time always seems especially poignant. I hope you can have a better year this year and look back on the good memories. How about a cinema hamper for your teenage nephews? A cinema gift card with popcorn, sweets and a drink etc?

Carlislelass that’s so rubbish about the delivery box turning up squashed – you wonder how they have the face to deliver it!

whitesatin wow a trip to Chamonix sounds lovely!

Peppa
I love the way they make the lighting aisles all dark so you can really see them. I love the Gavin & Stacey Christmas special, it was on a few months ago and I’ve had it recorded ever since!

vulpix I always wonder what everyone does with their wrapping, every year people seem to have such lovely coordinated wrapped presents. I could buy new paper to coordinate every year but then I wonder what I would do with all the leftovers! I might do what you do, have a couple of years of coordinated presents then have a ‘use-up’ year. Every year is a ‘use up’ year for me! :p

kpwll I am nearly 36 and just the same as your DD!

Jakes-mum I have two boys, 3 and 3months at the moment so it’s ok but I’ve already said to DH that one day they’ll be asking for mega expensive stuff! When I was young something like a pair of trainers for £60 would have been expensive, but now they ask for stuff like iphones for £300!

Mrs Ryan Like Sammy, when I booked a holiday to Scotland for my mum’s 60th I printed the information out on a piece of paper, put it in an envelope then put it in a box surrounded by tissue paper to jazz it up a bit!

alja I hope you are recovering well from your procedure.

Clumsy good luck for your hospital appointment.

Don't know if anyone is still after cocktail baubles but noticed wilkos do a set of three for a fiver. No idea if they are the same ones as not seen the ones in our Morrisons.

• Went and had a look around The Range today. Came out with a scented candle for Mum, a roll of wrapping paper, and six gorgeous Christmas baubles! The start of my tree decorating purchases!

Costco have the Christmas stuff in. From the diabetes-be-welcome sweets to the dashed handsome tins of biscuits <so I'm weak> to the crib figures & all manner of illuminations.

Not much in the way of Christmas preparations going on here - am currently getting ready to go on holiday next week for half term (Benidorm). Will make a start when we get back.

My eldest daughter has her 16th Birthday before Christmas, so that will come first, but will make a start on a few bits for Christmas before that.

Have been asked to go to my parents for Christmas lunch this year - they moved in a new bungalow just over a month ago, so I'm thinking the right thing to do would be accept the invitation.

We never go out for Christmas lunch as it's too expensive!

CHRISSY glad you both survived the wedding, what a shame the singing waiter was so close to you, poor DD, but you got through it and I hope you managed to relax and enjoy some of the day.

GTQ hope the deep clean goes well and the squatters are at last gone for good.

MURIE what are you like? Wow though, that's a lot of money, hope you don't have any probs with the replacement.

Thanks for the tip STOKIE I didn't give a thought to Wilks, I'll have a look.

Nothing overly festive in the past few days but then after Tuesday's spend up it's just as well. I've also spent quite a bit online (some of which I might be regretting but can't admit it and have DH look smug lol). Planning a chilled weekend now the work in the house (bungalow) is finally finished, tidying up the garden and just generally pootling around. Might even get to the garden centre. Have a good one everybody.
It's the most wonderful timeof the year :
• Well, the kitchen is currently being cleaned and I am updating my lists. Suddenly had more cakes to makes so needed to work out where I was, think it will work out quite well, over this week end and during the week. Have started writing my cards, will go through what wrapping needs to be sorted so I can "book" myself in for next wrapping session here

Went into Dunelm to pick up the Coca Cola snow globe, but need to order it in, so that sorted for my mum. Was disappointed with the tee shirts in Primark, thought they looked a bit jaded rather than the bold red I was expecting to see. They had one from Home Alone, so may go back & get one of those.

Have started picking up bits for the families in need, needing to be practical as some are technically homeless, so no point in picking up something bulky. Have bought some Christmas paper napkins in Ikea, £1 per pack, mums have got "pashminas", they were £2 each, although they are grey, got 2 fleeces for each family at £1.50 each, they will, as someone here said, serve dual purpose, warmth while kids are on holidays but also being able to snuggle up together as a family. Going to get shower gel, soap etc, as they can be chunk of a family budget, but will mean they can use that money for other things. Have sorted out candy canes for each family. Don't need to worry about chocolate as someone else is doing that, although I probably will get some coins. Any other suggestions will be appreciated. I have found new slippers at home which can be given, imagine someone will have a size 4! Waiting to get approx sizes for pyjamas. Having to keep a running list of how much I have spent or I could very easily exceed my weight loss :D

If anyone sees hot chocolate sachets on offer, let me know as I can start sorting out my class also.

Have a good weekend everyone
