    Hi all,

Sorry I have been MIA, life has been truly hectic.

Sorry I didnt get chance to get on and remind everyone about the wrapping party. The next one is scheduled for 2 weeks today. If we all get our Christmas gifts and wrap out and log on, we can wrap and chat together x
Welcome to all the newbies x

Have just ordered some gifts as I am so behind with buying this year. DS birthday next week so will just get that out of the way and then I can concentrate fully on Christmas. We have got a new car finally! lots going on at work, so so busy! not enough hours in the day xx
    Big Christmas hugs to everybody!

    Afternoon all,

Completely unchristmassy but i'm currently thinking about DD's halloween costume and the fact she's decided she wants to be Harry Potter  I refuse to pay £15+ for something she will only wear once so i'm going to try and butcher one together myself :o

She has a black cape from her Captain Phasma dress up outfit and i'm pretty sure I can make a wand out of my fimo, I can crochet a griffindor scarf and she can just wear her school trousers and her coat under the cape, but whats completely thwarting me is the glasses! poundland is all about the huge over sized style so I cant buy a cheap pair and pop out the lenses, I did consider just cutting some out of cardboard but think they would be uncomfortable and i'd have to colour them in with black felt tip which would prob come off on her face, so how do I make a pair

DD's board game turned up yesterday, Eye found it? something to do with Disney characters (not a clue) was £16.99 at smyths and it was free delivery for over £20 spend (or £2.95 postage) so I also got a wooden game of snakes and ladders for £4.99 figuring it would be something fun to play on christmas day as the parents are coming . . or not . . we're quite a competitive family and SOME members are not above cheating if they can get away with it! :rotfl:

  • I went into Birmingham with the Mother in Law yesterday, hoping to get at least some of my Christmas present shopping done. Not only did I come away with nothing, but we were unable to treat ourselves at Ed's Easy Diner as it would have been an hour before we got any food (and this was only at about 12!) When I came back, I dragged hubby into the Range and spent a while looking at the Christmas stuff. There are some lovely things, but much of the stuff that I liked, we wouldn't really be able to put anywhere, (cute light up polar bear) or the cat may attack (the rattan reindeer springs to mind).

Today is probably going to be mainly spent tidying, but I may pop into my local town again to have a look at the Christmas stuff in Wilkinsons. (Couldn't persuade my husband to go that far into town!)

Tell you what - we brought Eye found it last year for Holly - its quite hard but lots of fun - we had such a good laugh - there was myself, my husband whos 37 and our two kids aged 13 and 7 laid out on the floor trying to find them. Id highly recommend it. Although some of them are rather small and well hidden but still its a good giggle and will keep the kids quiet for a good while if nothing else. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Well had a lovely win of £200 worth of high street vouchers last week and have made a plan of action today for them - sadly not Xmas related but it frees up space for Xmas money now - I am looking at spending £160 on a tumble dryer, then £15 on two clothes rails and £16 on a dog gate - the rest then can go towards an Iceland shop and stocking the chest freezer ---- since I work in Ar*os I will have a nice bit of discount too so it stretches well but I have literally bags of washing to do and cant get it dry so think the husband is starting to get slightly miffed and its driving me nuts with our bedroom being so disorganised and messy :mad::mad: so this should restore some order :j:j:j

As far as Xmas prep today - I will be writing my Christmas card list, making a final list of things to get (its mainly my son now bar a few family gifts) but I think I am mostly done.

Right off now to finish getting some cleaning done - it seems to be a never ending circle
    Time to find me again

Ahh glad someone else had bought it, as I had no real clue what it was :rotfl: I can see the mother getting very shouty about not being able to find anything and DD getting stroppy about the same thing :rotfl: We are very sore losers in my family, my dad and DH won't play board games with us anymore :rotfl:

Right I am off to find glasses and am trying to decide whether to do some more on the cardigan or get the iron out . . so far i've spent nearly an hour sat here trying to make that decision :o

right I'm going to update 1st as otherwise I'll forget

some one was after chunky tinsel matalan has some in 5/6 different colours £3
Lidl have gingerbread & mince pie flavour icecreams £1.99 not sure what they are like as not tried them yet - need to pop back when I'm going straight home as they had quite a few interesting frozen desserts
Primark have loads of xmas jumpers/tops in they had some really nice designs and some jokey ones too including grumpy cat & the grinch.
Again forget who but debenhams had chocolate emoji poo's not sure how much but they were but included in 3 for 2 on stocking fillers. Primark have an emoji poo tshirt in the boys section one of the reversable sequin type ones didn't have taz's size though so hoping they get more in.

got my email from ikea for the £5 voucher and a free hot drink & cake so will pop in next week to use those
this year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk

Ive been trying to hunt down the sachets of Neacafe frothy gingerbread latte. Nescaf! have told me it is discontinued . But ive seen someone say they have stock in Poundland. If anyone sees any in shops can you give me a shout please? I just love them this time of year, the smell is christmas in a cup. I assumed they were pretty popular, so not sure why they have stopped making them.

Was in Home bargains on Wed, I picked up candy canes and all the little bags of chocolates that I put in the stocking advent calender. The kids are always with me, so grabbed them when I had a rare hour in a shop lol.
I also got a cute little book with 4 stories in it for just 69p. It's a lovely little book that I hope my 6 yr old will enjoy being read to and reading some herself.
