Getting a refund for a faulty used car

6 days to process a refund. OK not ideal, but it'll happen. Get something on paper to say it's happen, and document well all the faults, reports, and actions the dealer is taking. No reason not to take him at his word, especially if he knows that 'VOSA' are involved.
And next time, pay for at least part (£100+) of the car with a credit card, which will afford you more protection if the dealer doesn't play ball.
The above is the fastest way to a refund. Getting tetchy over 6 days, then wanting months of court action, doesn't make sense to me.0 -

The amount paid on credit doesn't have to be £100+. This figure is only the minimum that an item has to cost before S75 of the Consumer credit act may apply. And next time, pay for at least part (£100+) of the car with a credit card, which will afford you more protection if the dealer doesn't play ball.
Provided that the rest of the requirements of S75 are followed, even a £1 credit payment will be sufficient0
