  • No spends for us. Had lunch at my parents' and they bought us fish and chips for tea. I'd spent most of the day painting, cleaning and heavy lifting at their place and changed another plug too so it was nice to not have to cook. No planned spends coming up either. Loads of food in and so no need to top up anything.

YS raid at Morries, got 2 pork hocks reduced, 1 cooked overnight, just added veggies, so tonights meal sorted, gave other to my friend, a belly pork joint to go in freezer, noticed 1 reduced item charged full price, I am going to Drs today, park in Morries car park, so will call for my refund, other bits and bobs and 2 jars of coffee on special for bulk stock.
Do I need it or just want it.

Hiya 'twin' - it's my birthday t/m as well. Hope you have a great day. Won't 'post' you a birthday cake as it will probably be full of things you don't eat - but maybe a glass of something

Happy birthday for the 17th, "twin"!! A drink always goes down a treat so cheers! Have one back!
Congrats Elsie. We call it penny point in our house (DS renaming it when younger and it stuck). I insist it'd be a great board game if you could work through the setting up process.

Thank you! I love it too, so nervous but excited though!

I have only been to the food shops twice so far this month and its the 17th already so I am really pleased I have nothing on my shopping list to buy as yet and have only spent in total just £26.82 so fingers crossed even more of my freezer food will get used up this month,Any left over cash will get swept into my holiday fund at the end of the month
Frugally onwards and upwards chums :):):)

Thank you, and wow I love every post you put because your spends are so impressive!

Belated birthday wishes to Lynne and Elsiepac!

    Thank you!

Thank you so much for all the birthday wishes! I had a lovely day - lunch out with my sister and in the evening my boyfriend came over and treated us to a chinese takeaway and bottle of prosecco (he doesn't really drink so it was more of a glass for him and the rest of the bottle for me, yay!! Suffice to say I had a good night! :rotfl:

No more grocery spends for me, but with only £7.20 left in the budget I am at a loss to how I'm going to live on that for 1 more week AND cater for my birthday get together on the weekend! Really wishing I'd had more will power earlier in the month! I feel at this point that going over is inevitable, so I'm going to put a limit on it and say a maximum overspend of £30.

  • Just done my final shop of this month (20th-20th) and am declaring at £462.00.
Slightly over budget but since it was a 5week month (Thursday's) and included food for Christmas and new year I'm pretty pleased.
I have the making of at least 5 meals left and will probably only need top up fruit and veg for a while.
Going to have a rummage in the freezer and do a proper inventory/meal plan over the weekend.

Doing my final shop tomorrow.. Fingers firmly crossed. If I come in below £250 it will be the first time for far too long :)
  • No spends today.

Mum and dad bought me some Turkish Apple tea when they were out today. I saw the price and said "how much?!?!! You can't spend that on Apple tea for me!" And mum says, "but it's in a tin..." maybe it was worth pulling a muscle in my back! Starting to think about getting back into swimming to build up my strength. Anyway. No spends but a lovely gift. I loved Apple tea as a kid.

Well, I've not been on for a week or so as been feeling pants... Went to Dr yesterday, as was feeling worse, and turns out I have a nasty ear infection and a lower throat infection. I'm on super strong antibiotics, which I hope will help me to feel better very soon!

Food wise, I'm not doing very well now. I have spent around £73, so only have £7 left. Here's what I'm going to do... NOT GO SHOPPING!!! I already have yoghurts for lunch boxes next week, bread in freezer, long life milk in case, so we should be fine. I'll need fruit and veg, but when the fresh has gone, I'll eat frozen. I'll be absolutely fine, as I have a ridiculous stock - it needs to be used, so here's the incentive!
