Happy Birthday Elsie & Lynne hope you have a great day.
I have only been to the food shops twice so far this month and its the 17th already so I am really pleased I have nothing on my shopping list to buy as yet and have only spent in total just £26.82 so fingers crossed even more of my freezer food will get used up this month,Any left over cash will get swept into my holiday fund at the end of the month
Frugally onwards and upwards chums:):)

Tesco coming tomorrow with spend of £40 to add to the budget giving £109/£175 so far this month. Had hoped it would be less given how full cupboards and freezer are but I'm hosting two nights for friends and family over the next 2 weeks so had to buy stuff for that. Technically most of the shop should be from my entertainment pot but as it's a food spend find it easier to just keep in my general food/household spend budget. Hopefully this will be my last spend for January and I won't need anything for a fortnight. Plan to trim the budget significantly for February and see how it goes though will need to re-stock loo roll and toilettries etc.0

Happy Birthdays to Elsie and Lynne x
(NSD here to stay on topic...)0 -
Hi everyone!
I'm not doing too badly! I will update my signature when I'm at home this evening.
My budget was £160 for one person from 1st-31st January (as per post #306) However, I don't appear to have been added to the list.
This is a lovely thread and has helped me think more about what I'm buying.
Hopefully, I'll be able to cut down gradually each month until I get to a sensible level (although I'm not quite sure what that level is)
Love to you all

NSD for me today. I'm well under budget and really pleased as I didn't think I could ever master self control where food shopping was concerned.
I'll probably make some more cakes/biscuits tonight as I'm getting a bit low on something sweet for DH to have after his lunch and then I'll have no excuse to go out and buy biscuits for him.0 -
Afternoon All
So the teenager moaned that he wanted junk food today, and that we had no food in the house. So I'm making chocolate and cranberry muffins later.
I'm not feeling great, so wont eat any dinner. The kids are having 'on toast' or porridge.0 -
Thanks for the advise, I will pop into the bank when i go through town on the way home from work on Tuesday, its the only time it has happened so i will give it a go , im so annoyed because i really wanted to get a grip with the food shopping feel like ive let us down already0

NSD here again - need to food shop tomorrow, but won't be spending too much, I am guessing less than £30, and that's only because Youngest turned up from Uni, he has a few reading days and wants 'Mum' food (and his washing doneNote to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!
