I posted on this forum for a couple years under my real name too, I don't see anything wrong in being open and honest about who you are. The only reason that I stopped, was because I sometimes posted about issues that I had with my investment properties, and however unlikely, it wasn't impossible that my tenants might also frequent this forum, which could have been awkward. For more than 10 years I have used my own name on 2 different chess forums.

Perhaps you should ask yourself why you feel the need to hide your identity, rather than pointing your finger at him for being honest and open about who he is.

Not hiding. I used to have a travel blog, about 15 years ago. I ended up getting death threats from some nutter. Since then would never ever reveal my name on any Internet site.

That's not the point! The point is why criticise him for being open and honest about using his true identity? I can understand why you now don't, thanks for the obviously reasonable explanation, but he should not be criticised for using his true identity.

I admire your optimism and confidence which has been unwavering, but it really does not matter a jot how well we can fly when we leap from the cliff. The decision is made and we must live with it for good or ill.

When you say have confidence in the people, can you say why I should? For example, many people over 30 have spent years borrowing money the could not afford from financial institutions that should have had more sense that to let them. Should I have confidence in that?

The gamble is less of an issue because the EU is looking more fragile by the month.

what do you consider is a cliff edge?
the germans refusing to sell us cars
the spanish refusing to let UK tourists into spain
the french refusing to sell us wine and foods

that was when we shared the strenght and competence of the EU

The gamble is less of an issue because the EU is looking more fragile by the month.

All I meant is that in a couple of years we will be making a fundamental change in our status (analogy cliff edge). WE do not need to debate the arguments of the campaign any more (decision made). Whether it works or not does not matter (we are committed) we just have to do our best whatever happens.

So don't post links showing exactly how to find me elsewhere then, as so have I, although frequently not on social media.

I do so because with some of the things I've posted about in the past, traceability has been key.

I'm comfortable with using the username here still, but as MF has probably noticed I've tightened up security on the said profile. This is in direct response to having a link to it posted on here, which is strictly against the forum rules at best.
