Hi everyone, I'm heading to Vegas on 5th December with 2 friends. It's my second visit (nearly 6 years ago on honeymoon) and their first visit.

They'll be doing some big trips like the Grand Canyon etc which I've already done, so I'm going to need to do something by myself - just need some ideas other than gambling all the time if anyone can suggest anything

Would you prefer to stay in Las Vegas or go further afield? If the latter then I'd very highly recommend Zion National Park in southwestern Utah, a magnificent and beautiful place.

If you fancy a few drives out, then Primm is good for shopping and pottering round (Desperado is there if you like roller coasters). Also worth a look is Silverton/Outdoor World which is worth going to just to look at the boats, the decor & Silverton has a giant fish tank that sometimes has a mermaid swimming in it.
I don't know what the weather is like in December (we have been in November, and it rained quite a bit) so, it might be a bit chilly for places like Valley Of Fire & Lake Mead.
Boulder City is nice to visit, on the way to Hoover Dam. They have a cracking pub that does nice meals, and it's only small, but they have lots of interesting bronze statues to look at and a few little shops. There is also an Alpaca shop on the way there if you want to buy something warm n snuggly.
HTH, from me. The regulars will be able to come up with some other tips for you as well.

Thank you all so much - I'm a gambler so when the 3 of us are together we will enjoy the casino's so that's why I was thinking of something different when they're away doing stuff during the day.

I don't mind travelling a bit out and your suggestions sound great - I'll definitely start looking into them especially Primm. I'm hoping to get a few nice bargains for my children for Christmas while I'm there :D

I appreciate you all taking the time to respond

Here's some distances from Las Vegas, but the time of year might affect access to places at higher altitudes:

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area, Nevada 23 miles
    Hoover Dam, Arizona/Nevada 32 miles
    Mount Charleston, Nevada 43 miles
Valley of Fire State Park, Nevada 56 miles
Zion National Park, Utah 164 miles
Cedar Breaks National Monument, Utah 198 miles
Big Bear Lake, California 210 miles
Bryce Canyon National Park, Utah 264 miles

It's quite alright. I'm happy to help. Btw, if you are considering going to Primm, then at one point Calvin Klein were giving a discount for next door which was Tommy Hilfiger. Don't know if it's still going, but worth checking out. Sometimes you can drop on there rather well.
Also if you are considering the outlet mall just past the airport, have a look on their website. Sometimes if you sign up - even over here - they give you a coupon to print off for their info desk, and you can get a booklet with even more discounts. HTH too.

Thanks to those who helped me a few ago with the myvegas email problem I was experiencing. This has now been resolved after I put a support ticket in.

Anyone else noticed since yesterday that the PC Myvegas platform has now changed similar to the Mobile platform i.e.points and chips etc.?
