    Hi guys

Planning my third trip to Vegas for next year and this time it will be a stag do. Too old for it to be too messy and the stag himself doesn't drink so will be able to spend plenty of time enjoying Vegas rather than recovering 😄

The stag is a big sports fan so we are hoping that we get lucky with some boxing, UFC or basketball being on at MGM, does anyone know if you get any kind of ticket preference if you stay at the hotel? If so this will sway us to stay there, if not we will be back to The Linq which I rate very highly.

If anyone else has any sports based ideas for things to do out there please share. We are doing two nights LA then driving up to Vegas for four nights early May 2018.

    Thanks

Don't think you get any preference on tickets.

No idea what sports you like but

Vegas 51s baseball team play at cashman fields it's a cheap evening out and is fun

There may be some motor sport on at LVMS. Or something at Thomas and Mack centre or Sam Boyd stadium

Yeah I am coming round to that way as well. In fact if you use lyft line or uber pool you can get to the car facility for $5 and usually won't have anyone else in the cab with you if you go really early.

Thanks for the tip! I finally entered the world of Uber on our recent trip to Illinois after getting over my general stupidity on setting it up on my phone. We took a few Ubers last time in Vegas when our friend was able to sort it out on her phone and I was amazed how painless it was (also like that you don't have to bother having cash). If I go the same route in October, I will try Uber to get to the rental facility.

It is a shame, as I really liked Dollar at TI for years - and I will miss seeing the lady with the amazing hair - but Alamo has been so superior in our experiences.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Take a look on Virgin Atlantic car rental, I have just done a booking and it was 60 pound cheaper. For some reason there was no price difference between 5 and 7 days..

Good luck with that one :rotfl:
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Yeah the 51's is going to be your best bet. I've heard they get some pretty raucous nights there. Never heard of any basketball at MGM, Vegas don't have a team and it'll be out of season anyway.

Just had a look and they were £40 dearer than Netflights for a 2 day period.

They are advertising a 3v3 tournament and college basketball at the moment so hoping they will be doing similar things when we go next year. Ideally we'll get a basketball game at the 51's.
