We haven't booked yet. It's killing me. Have to wait until after Thursday when I see my consultant.
We are looking at mid October until late November, so you're not far off. Can't slide it much later because I'm taking my dad on holiday on 17th December. Such a hard life.0 -

Hi all,
I have a quick car hire question. I've been to Vegas loads of times and hired a car, however, I'm having trouble finding anything at a reasonable rate this visit. Last summer I used rentalcars.com but they're coming up at over £300 for Sunday to Friday over xmas which seems incredibly steep. I normally collected the car at TI on the strip from dollar which used to do a package to include all insurances and a tank of fuel but this doesn't seem to be available any more. I'm staying at the Cosmo so don't mind collecting closer. I don't want to pick up at the airport. Any ideas on who to use?

I was going to say try Alamobrits but you would need to go to the airport, I cant offer anything else if you dont want to go to the airport although you may find it cheaper just to get a cab/lyft/uber to the airport and pick up there0 -

I did this last trip as the price was significantly less doing it that way. I picked it up on our first morning, so I scheduled the pick up at 6am as I knew I would be wide awake by 4:30, I took an empty suitcase from our room, took a taxi (very quick that time of the day!), got the car and then ran to WalMart to stock up...everything went in the empty case I had with me, and I was back in the room by about 7:15 with all the room snackery and coffee maker and everything.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
also, as big fans of Dollar picking up at TI - I will say that the cars we have had from Alamo picking up at the airport to be vastly superior to those we get from TI. No comparison at all. Maybe we have been unlucky, and we have used TI for pick-up for years, but the last few have been not great...not so bad as to deal with the faff to swap them, but not great.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0

We have had some dreadful cars from Dollar at TI. Old, dirty, and otherwise unsatisfactory. It's worth going to the airport for a better car. We use Alamo almost exclusively now. Better prices and better cars.0

Yeah I am coming round to that way as well. In fact if you use lyft line or uber pool you can get to the car facility for $5 and usually won't have anyone else in the cab with you if you go really early. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0
