Thank you, some great hints and tips, looking forward to it more already 🤗
Keep adding tips though as I am sure I'm not the only person benefitting.
Oh someone said to buy sun cream in walgreen? As it's cheaper than uk and saves taking loads?. Is that still true?
Thanks again 💵🚁🍹🍕🌭🍔🥞☀️0 -
For anyone interested in Bacchanal Buffet @Ceasers it is currently on offer on Travelzoo for $88 for two people till end of September.Hopefully it will be on when we go in November !!
Should of said it is for brunch have to be seated before 3.00pm and includes either 2 mimosas or 2 beers per person .
Guess it depends how much value you put on the alchohol0 -
Apart from the drink I think that's the normal price, or if you have a LVA members rewards book brunch is $29.99 each plus tax ( without the alcohol)
Guess it depends how much value you put on the alchohol
Think it can be used at the weekend when normal price is $49.99 each.On reflection as I am such a fussy eater and ca only manage 1 plate of food at buffets it is not really for me,think my OH would be force feeding me at this price!!!0 -
** ALAMO Rentals **
I use Netflights, AutoEurope, who-ever-is-the-cheapest-at-the-time !
They are all the same, booking with the rental firm using same process....
You book, they issue the ALAMO ref to you, usually between 2hrs to 1 day....
You can do the online check-in with that ref , and if u created an in-sider account, get the booking linked (although it serves no purpose)...
I need to book my SUV from SFO to LAX, appears to be quite pricey on the SUV's and soft-tops !
I do this for LAS and LAX, have done for yearsand u know from my reports, I rent a lot!
Also, any of u MLifers seen your new offers ? I got some nice ones, so handy choice for my 3 nights soon !!
Thinking of staying at the MGM, not stayed there before, so be nice to have something new...
Current offer is 3 nights Exec Suite (will need Queen) with $400 freeplay and $300 RC
However, if I recall, the Mlife Tier points get reset on the last day of September........ I check-in on the 1st Oct ! doh!!!!!0 -

I don't know if you remember but back in 2013 you sorted me for a contact at the Platinum Hotel and we got a pretty decent deal from the source you gave.
I recall reading that the employee you advised has since left and I'm sure I remember you saying that you'd had a bit of a bad experience since ....... is my memory correct?
Anyway, more to the point. Do you still stay at the property? Is there a contact we can reach? Do you still consider it as highly as you once did? Has it maintained its high levels?
I am fully booked up this year but the wife and I have spoke about reliving the experience in 2018. They are currently doing a $99 a night on Travelzoo for Aug/Sept this year so it looks as though sales aren't what they once were.
Thank you for any help you may be able to offer. Much appreciated.
Safe travels all
Mick
That Travel Zoo offer is a good one, I'd jump at it if I wasn't already booked to stay there in September. You can't beat no resort fees and a 900 sq. ft. fully rigged out suite for $99
PM sentThe common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.0 -
Some other places which are easily accessed with a car are Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area (23 miles, desert scenery and vegetation), Hoover Dam (32 miles), Mount Charleston (43 miles, nice scenery and the higher altitude gives some relief from the heat), Valley of Fire State Park (56 miles, accurately named in summer), and Zion National Park in southwestern Utah (164 miles, and in many people's opinion one of the most beautiful places on Earth).
Done all of those places expect Mount Charleston - meant to do that last year and didn't get round to it.
Lake Mead is a nice run out too.
We always stop off at Boulder City when we are over there as well. Lots of bronze statues to look at and they have a cracking pub there that do nice meals. Only problem is, is that the place is a real suncatcher. You can't stay out too long while visiting.
P.S I agree about Zion, but it was a bit too far for a day trip. Gorgeous place though. So many places, so little time.BEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.

Can't say for certain, but I would inclined to buy sun cream in uk.
We buy it from various uk stores,it's nearly always on offer at less than half price. We probably on pay £4-5 for many of the familiar brands. We have looked in Walgreens and CVS a few times and as far as I remember even their cheap brands cost more than that.
I may be wrong, but I would say it will cost you more in Walgreens.0 -

Me too. Boots usually have some decent deals in store, and also you can drop on decent deals in Home Bargains/Quality Save.
Trouble is in America is that things like that can be really expensive. Best to take stuff with you, and that includes painkillers and tummy tablets. DH had a bout of food poisoning last year when we were there and it cost about $15 for some Peptol Bismol ('cos he used all the squit tablets I brought) and a special re-hydration drink to settle his stomach.
Best to be prepared. It's surprising sometimes how dear medical stuff is over there.BEST EVER WINS WON IN ORDER (so far) = Sony Camcorder, 32" lcd telly, micro ipod hifi, Ipod Nano, Playstation 3, Andrex Jackpup, Holiday to USA, nintendo wii, Liverpool vs Everton tickets, £250 Reward Your thirst, £500 Pepsi, p&o rotterdam trip, perfume hamper, Dr Who stamp set, steam cleaner.

We arrived in Vegas on 3rd of August, I was quite apprehensive about getting a taxi and didn't have an Uber account. I asked the driver not to take me the highway to get to The Orleans, he said ok and I was having a bit of chit chat with him, we get to Tropicana and his radio squawked and he said that was us and that there was an accident on the junction of Tropicana and The Strip and that we had to divert. I had this earlier in the year when there was the shooting on the bus on the strip and I insisted the driver go Tropicana and surprise surprise no hold ups. I was caught on the hop this time and we went via Flamingo, I might have bought his story but for the way when we got near The Orleans he needlessly went back on Tropicana, just as we got on Tropicana his radio declared all clear, I knew then I had been long hauled, $31.01 He said I could tip him, I told him where to go.
I hadn't signed up for Uber or Lyft but thought I'm never taking a taxi again, if I don't hire a car I generally use the RTC and walk a lot. I signed up for Uber, and had to figure how to make it work with the mobile phone, I only have my company phone and it won't let me roam(tight swines)but my wife has an Asda phone, is a bit pricey 87p/min calls 40/20p texts. We have travelled up North this morning and got the Uber at 3.30am, no problems, very nice driver, very very clean car. Cost should have been $10.31 but first $20 of rides is free. Back to Vegas in a week, when you get your bags you go to level 2M Terminal 1 bit different at Terminal 3 and either book the car there or do it when you have your bags. It is possible to get to your hotel using the RTC which I was contemplating if I couldn't get Uber to work, would be a bit of faffing but you can get a 2 hour ticket for $3 each, the 2 hours should be plenty of time to get to most places. I was talking to one of the RTC drivers and told him about my taxi experience, he told me some worse stories and that a taxi driver tried to pull the same scam on him about Tropicana/strip issue,(The IN scam). He said the Taxi companies are in deep problems because of Uber/Lyft Good!0 -
Easiest way to get cheap calls and data on your phone is a 3 payg sim.
Order for free from 3.Pop it in your phone top up at least £10 and buy an add on.For £10 you get 1gb data 3000 minutes and texts..for £5 more you get 5gb data.
It lasts for 30 days so good enough for a trip abroad. When home put your own contract sim back in.0
