  • Hello all, can I join in? have spent the last two hours reading a selection of the posts, and have the feeling that now is the time to finally lose the weight i've been carting round for nearly twenty years.

With jerusalems my oh (other half) is always going on about making a soup. I haven't done it because when I eat them roasted they give me terrible wind:eek:
I gather it's because they're rich in inulin which is supposed to a probiotic I think.
They're also delicious sliced very very thinly and baked (like pretend crisps), but i still end up in agony! The rest of the family eat them with no repercussions though, so good luck!

    Morning all

 - hold on tight folks frogga is stearing the wagon :rotfl: ,,,I would have used an icon of a terrified face...but there wasn't one ;)

lovely, fresh n crisp here today :T ...up at silly o'clock as hubby left for PT early and i like to get up and make him a coffee and toast when he gets back , whilst he has a shower and gets his uniform on.. thankfully he only does this twice a week-should be about another 30mins before he gets in... by then my mouth should be functioning enough to eat my weetabix:p

Meanmarie.... we all have friends/family like that don't we!!!! I can go out with one of my friends in the UK and she eats her way around town.. sausage rolls, choc, etc.. not helpfull at all:rolleyes: ..still stuck out here in the middle of nowhere - that isn't a problem:T

    kittyscarlett..

i think heinz beans are more sauce than beans..and i have to drain them as i hate "sloppy beans" - the morrisons ones in the dark blue n red tin were nice .... i don't know what was going on with the beans mum had but 1500cals in a tin of beans..didn't think it was possible:p . Glad its not just me having to put them in a dish :T
Hope you are feeling a bit better soon :D

Keiss... i love baking but there is only me n hubby most of the time and cake baking etc seems such a waste of time as hubby isn't overly bothered by cake which means yours truely would end up eating most..so i don't "cake bake".. i stick to making savoury pies n pastries instead....
LOL is laugh out loud.... or lots of love....depending....

Turbo gran.... thats a good thing to do with the choccies.... you don't have to go without that way - plus the pleasure lasts a lot longer :T .. i will have a rummage through my recipes for ideas on the artichokes

    Eeyores...hello and welcome:T

well its left over mashed pot/swede and vegies with something for lunch
dinner is HM sausages-casseroled with veggies and yorkshire puds

Well i will get off and do hubbies brekkie and be back later...thats got you all scared i bet ;)

am going to give all the carpets a freshen up with zoflora, hot water and a scrubbing brush ...that should "wobble" some cals off:rotfl:

have a good day everyone...keep up the good work:T

    Morning ladies!
Gosh! I'm sooooo tired this morning, combination of very early mornings and extra exercise methinks
Just had oats with yoghurt and berries for brekkie.
Lunch is a cheese (very small amount, not huge chunks) and salad (lots) sandwich with grapes. I've got a cereal bar and a bag of lowfat crisps for emergencies and tea will be organised when I get in and look through the cupboards!
OH is on lates for the rest of the week so I've only got myself to see to :T :T I'm going to cook something for tomorrow while I'm at it so that I can go for a swim after work and not resort to the chippy when I arrive home starving!:rotfl: :rotfl:
Have a good day one and all!:A :A

  • Wow - I don't make it on here for one day and I miss so much!

Frogga - I'm glad to hear that you're feeling better today - I really do empathise, having had 'issues' of my own. One day at a time eh? :A

I've lost my first lb today! :j Wasn't going to weigh myself so soon, because scales and I don't get on *searches for the smiley with a large mallet* but I'm quite chuffed :D

    Just another 33lb to go...

Oh, I don't think I've said - I'm doing this because I got engaged over the summer and, whilst we haven't set a date yet, I'd like to be able to make my dress in a smaller size - save money on fabric - very os! :rotfl:

Good luck to everyone and have a good day! :D

    Just a quick one

turbo gran.. i went on www.bbc.co.uk/food and if you put up to 3 ingredients in the box on the left it will pull up any recipes it can find using them...

lots of soups came up -parsnip and artichoke soup with onion compote sounded rather yummy.... you can easily "healthy" it if needed....
artichoke cakes with caramalised onions mmm
    lemon n artichoke soup
i love this site and its great when you have those days where you stick your head in the fridge and have an asortment of odds n sods to use up..

Hope its some help..would hate OH to have a wobbler if you don't use them :D

Morning Taplady... fingers crossed for you this evening ;) you will be fine :D

Hi There, Don't post much, but been following everyone since begining of thread. Getting lots of sensible, great ideas and support on here with loads of laughs too. Well since the start I have just been eating 3 smaller meals (ordinary food no fads) with 2 fruit snacks each day, If I get a sod it moment I know Its not too long before me next decent os meal. Had one stressy bingey day but just put it behind me and got back on track next day. Got on scales tday LOST 4 POUNDS thats about a pound a week! That'll do for me, normally would eat for eating sake, clear up left overs, and snack all day. Ive never stuck to any diet for long and I've tried them all, so just goes to show old fashioned self control can work. Turbo-Gran where did you get that great choc gussling icon? Thanks to you all for your help :D

    Morning everyone!

For dinner last night I stuffed 2 chicken breasts with light philadelphia, black pepper and herbs, covered in flour and breadcrumbs and baked in the oven for 25 minutes - and voila, my OH declared it tasted better than Birds Eye chicken... which I think is a compliment (?!) ;)

    Today for me:
Breakfast: brown roll w/ poached egg and HP sauce
Snack: pot of nuts / dried apricots and few Japanese rice crackers
Lunch: plain salad with rice noodles, 3 x ryvita w/ light philadelphia, low fat yogurt
Dinner: (Low fat and meaty) Sausage casserole (bubbling away in slow cooker, hopefully) w/ mash
    Desert / snack: fresh pineapple
