Bobbadog..that sounds lovely :p .. have you tried mixing philli or the own brand ones with a drop of milk, mixing well and either heating in a small pan, or blaasting briefly in the micro... makes a really nice light but tasty sauce... great with pasta, fish etc .....

That sounds delicious Mrs M! Thank you! Have added a spoonful to a cheese sauce for a pasta bake, but it would be delicious as a fish sauce i think, especially say, the cheese and black pepper flavour. I use that as a filling for salmon encroute sometimes (oh naughty naughty pastry!).

    Hi bobbadog

We are spoilt out here i can get cream cheese with :-
horseraddish-which is stunning, pepper, peppers n chilli, ham, herbs,
med herbs, pinapple, strawberry..and they are just the ones i can read ..or guess by the pic :p .... it amazes me, what stuff is on offer here but never makes it back to the UK.. the tubs work out at 40p for a 200g tub...

As for pastry don't get me started... although im still making my own with half lard, half butter - We just have smaller portions that we would have Pigged before ;) .. very nice with some fresh parmesan grated in or a sprinkle of dried sage if you are making a pie with pork in  .. heck im on about food again

Morning everyone, Not been doing to badly slowly getting my head away from thinking Diet and just thinking eating heathy and not classing food as the enemy . I think i'v been on and off some kind of diet since i was about 14yrs old constantly thinking about food and my weight being on my mind from when i wake up to when i go to bed .Its only now that im starting to relax around food and the more i'm not thinking diet the less my weight and food is on my mind i think its because i'm not under any presure . When freinds talk about losing weight and the lastest diet their on and i say i'm not on a diet i'm just trying to eat heathly i dont think they understand and they start offering me diets that their trying or offer to go to slimming clubs with me lol.
I lost a 1lb this week . I think im going to start looking at my portion sizes at meal times as i find it hard to stop if i'm full if its there i'll eat it lol.

my food for today weetabix and milk for breakfast, dinner? tea fish pie and vegs.
  • Morning all :)

Well done all the loser and the tryers !
Frogga, driving the wagon eh - have you got a license for that thing ? :P

As for the soft cheese, mm yes it is good used as a pasta sauce - haven't done that for a while now ! I also stir in a spoonful if I want to make a soup a bit creamy without adding loads of milk or cream.

Started the day with rice cakes, ham, a banana, a few raisins and some herbal tea - I did actually want porridge very much but as I have to keep dashing up and down attending to the door entry system contractors, it wasn't practical to cook and eat it. Am defrosting some hm broccoli soup for lunchtime - hopefully they will depart to a nearby caff for a fry up ( I've already given them directions :D ) and leave me in peace to eat !

Feel really tired and achey but the sun's out so that's a bit spirits raisiing :) also found this which helped remind me what I'm doing and why I'm doing it.

    hello everyone
Thanks for making me welcome on Monday, it is really encouraging to read all of your up and downs, much better than weightwatchers!
I've dusted down my (expensive) winter coat yesterady and it doesn't fasten across the bosom :(
This is my 2nd day 'not-dieting' and I feel quite headachy and tired but I expect thats all the badness coming out (as my mum would say).
    So far I've had
B: Porridge - How do you eat yours? Mine is uncooked with ice-cold milk, seeds sultanas, and nuts. I could have just said museli! I don't find that it fills me up for very long though
L: was HM lentil soup and two slices of wholemeal bread. was luverly
    Snax: satsumas
D: At MIL so will be Traditional Fayre with lots of (very mushy, bless her) veg. I'll be asking for a smaller portion than usual.
How does weighing work? Are you doing it weekly/monthly or each to thier own?

    Hi ella.

I eat my porridge hot - made with water (milk issues) and then sometimes add forest fruits (frozen from Aldi) or sometimes add cinnamon and raisins in when it's cooking ;)

I find hot fills me up more. I also prefer it soaked in the water overnight and then cooked

As for weigh ins - think everyone does their own thing - I weigh at the weekends, other prefer monthly. ;)

she sounds like my friend from work who sticks all her veggies in the micro for an extra ten mins after they are cooked:eek: because she likes them mushy, I keep telling her that they have lost all their goodness but she wont listen!

Although I have lost my weight going to SW I dont really follow it now, like you lot I just eat normal meals, Home-cooked but smaller portions of everything and try and steer clear of the cakes and such stuff.I still go to the meetings because its good fun and my sister and I get a night out, she's still got quite a way to go yet so I like to support her plus I need to be weighed weekly to keep me on the straight and narrow, after 2 weeks away last time I'd put on 2lbs:eek:
My target is 10 stone which for my height of 5ft7" is about right, people are already saying to me dont lose anymore but they needn't worry there's no way I'll ever be a size zero - I like food too much for that!:D

hope you are all being good!;)
    Do what you love :happyhear
