Evening one and all
Hubby has just had to go back out to a mess meeting, so i thought i would catch up:p
Its 7:30 here so dinner has been eaten about 2hrs ago and i still feel full.. ended up having liver casserole with yorkies and nobbies mmm
This is it -well done on the loss:T .. im doing similar to you...im not on a diet - for the 1st time in years... im just making healthier choices;) i am eating allsorts.. proper HM meals - but smaller portions..like you - if its on my plate...its going down:p . Does anyone else do what i used to be guilty of- leaving all your favourite things on your plate until last? god knows why i did it..as im gonna cram them down no matter what
The other thing that you may find helps, is if you make trade offs... so if i make a pie with HM pastry i no longer serve potatoes with it...just plenty of veg, If i do chicken with HM stuffing i wont have potatoes.. you don't notice the difference but its a sneaky way of tricking yourself... well its working for me at the moment... like tonight we had liver casserole with yorkshires...so again no potatoes... but if i want potatoes i don't do stuffing etc extra- even hubby prefers it as he reckons he doesn't feel stuffed
Kittyscarlett... had a peek at that website and will be going back soon as it looks very interesting :T . The cream cheese is nice in mash too, and i stir it into chilli etc if its to spicy;)
Hi ellas.. im a weekly weigher... every friday morning... i couldn't go a month i would be tempted to eat more for the 1st 2 weeks and then cut back for the 2nd 2.. and would still end up with a stupid attitude to eating!! gone are the days of not eating all day wednesday - as i weighed in at WW on thursday morning....
I also put my oats(with apple n sultanas) in to soak in milk in the fridge over night and then stir in a dollop of fruit yoghurt in the morning....
Mind you at the moment im crazy on weetabix...as long as the milk is cold and the weetabix sloppy
And my sister cooks veg almost to a puree eughhhhh.... it looks like its been chewed before you get it :rotfl: .... brown brussels anyone -yep she puts bicarb in em too:eek: -managed to stop my mum doing it years ago
Have you tried cooking your chopped apple in the micro..leave it in the fridge over night and then it will be ready to add to your porridge when its cooked - would save some time too....
Taplady - how lovely - supporting your sister:T my mum n sis go to WW(i used to go to when i lived near home) sis should be at goal the radical hysterectomy and the 16lb mass plus 3lt of fluid they removed has seen to that:rotfl: thing is now..everyone thinks she only lost weight because she was ill.. she isn't impressed:p
Hello and welcom cazzdevil :j
1.5lb a week is achievable... come on you know you can do it
I don't do any set "exercise" i do housework..:rotfl: the windows get done inside and out 3 times a week.. and i have even started doing all the carpets with zoflora, hot water and a scrubbing brush every week... and my mop has now been bannished to the cellar as im doing the kitchen, hall and bathroom floors with a cloth on my hands n knees... must get a life :rotfl: ... although i don't work..so i have the time... and proper exercise just makes me hungry.. will start doing some once i have shifted plenty more weight
Meanmarie - i drink loads of water too.. half the time i think im hungry i have now realised i was thirsty  so i drink a glass of water..wait 30 mins and if im still hungry - i know its proper hunger:T
frogga - hope you got al that veg sorted:p ...hope you having a good day too:D
well i had beter get off and stop rambling..have a good evening everyone..
Kittyscarlett- thanks for mentioning the chees n onion pasties.. i will now remember that i need to make some more potato, cheese n onion flans at the weekend - only have 2 left-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Ooo thats just reminded me of another tasty tip for mashed taters ( probably does for other veggie mashes as well but not tried it with those ) is swap the milk and butter/spread for a couple of generous dollops of low fat or 0% fat greek yoghurt - tastes delish, ever so faintly cheesey but in a nice way, and makes the mash nice and light and fluffy.
I do sometimes do tradeoffs - but would have pie and potatoes at the same dinner, or yorkies and roasties - just not heaping great amounts of them. I really have found that cutting down on the amount of bread I eat has been really helpful. Now its usually 1 slice at a time not two, no more two or even 3-4 slices for breakfast, maybe another couple midmorning, sandwiches for lunch, and maybe again for dinner ... and often more toast just before bed " Baggy, and a bit loose at the seams.. "~ November 8th 2008. Now totally DEBT FREE !~0 -
Hi just got back from SW, managed to lose half a pound:j not much but I'm not bothered as long as its off and not on!;)
MRSMCAWBER - glad your sis is ok after her op!
Just about to have tea of veggie curry, rice and a small naan bread then its time to knuckle down again tomorrow.
will be checking in in the morning! night night!Do what you love :happyhear0 -

have a good evening:D-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Hello All - Thanks for all the great posts you are all an inspiration!! Something weird happend today - I wasn't hungry - doesn't happen that often! Had some grapefruit for brekkie, home made carrot soup at lunch then in the evening - not too bothered so had some salad. This board is helping me so much & all of you - Mrs M .:j
When we went to the supermarket my normal modis apparati had been to buy tons of 'slimming' type magazines, I'm proud to report I didn't buy one. Have it in my head now that is for life.
Best wishes Mx0 -
hello everyone , well we went on a hillwalking trip today to tackle my first Munro since having DS2 (6). That involves 2 hour drive usually eating multipack of crisp and drinking irn bru (competative eating with DH again). But this time I only had one pack of baked not fried crisps so that's something.
When we got there though it was really windy so we didn't want to take the kids up to the tops it would've been awful for them. So we went a walk along the lochside and then skimmed stones while eating our sandwiches. The boys got excited collecting rocks to see if they had gold in them and shoved loads in my rucksack so it was considerably heavier going back!! ( I know we shouldn't nick them, but it's in the interests of science - we're going to try to smelt iron out of them in the barbeqcue!!!)
On the way home we stopped at a chippy, I had a venison burger with loads of salad, it was really tasty and didn't feel like it was bad for me! Anyway have decided to live in Glen Lyon it's gorgeous but don't know what I'll work at, any ideas??
Re vegetables, I have family and friends who boil them for hours til there's no colour left and a particular trick with cabbage is to then fry it!! (West of Scotland you see, That's why we're top of all the league tables for heart disease - at least we're top at something )Just call me Nodwah the thread killer0 -

That's great MM, I gat days like that sometimes but I still eat out of boredom or - it's tea break so I'll eat syndrome - It's great that you listen to your body IYKWIMJust call me Nodwah the thread killer0 -
:kisses: Many thanks Mrs Mc for that fantastic link: www.bbc.co.uk/food in answer to my request for recipes for Jerusalem Artichokes (not to be confused with globe artichokes) this is a fantastic web site and one that I am sure I will be visiting loads of times.
I've been extra careful with what I ate today, fruit for brekkie,H M veggie soup for lunch, small piece of baked salmon with veggies and dry roasted potatoes for dinner so treated myself to a yummy chocolate muffin from Morrisons, they were on BOGOF,boy did I enjoy it,I felt I had earned it as this afternoon I had worked up quite a sweat doing a couple of hours line dancing
6lb off only 70 to go!What goes around - comes around

there, there frogga.... never mind - someone beat you to post 1000 :rotfl: .... with how many posts get done -you won't have long to wait until its post 2000... now come on..no sulking.... you will only miss us
well its a nippy one this morning - when i have done this i will grab a cuppa and my weetabix...
not sure what i will be having for lunchbut dinner is roast chicken, potatoes and heaps of veggies :j
Glad you found the icons mousey:dance: .... Its quite a shock to the system when you aren't hungry isn't it... my body has now got used to that and that odd feeling which i now know to be "proper hunger"... it never got chance to feel that before... but now i can actually recognise true "ok i need something to eat" before i used to stuff things down regardless. I have also managed to stop that awful habbit of eating because the clock tells me its "lunch time" etc... i now eat when im hungry - not when "im supposed too" - im still eating regularly mind!!
Turbo gran... glad you like that site... i love it - and i now look on there instead of buying the goodfoood/olive/fresh and delicious mags - have decided to be good -have far too many cook books/mags (if its possible:p )and out here those mags are 6euros each - about £4.50:eek: ... i love that site i also like..lets see if i can get the address correct the 1st timewww.uktv.co.uk/food .... will check and amend if need be in a moment
I used to love morrisons choc muffins.. warmed a little with cream on  ...
Nodwah... i love venison sausage... and venison is so low in fat and cholesterol too.. so that won't have done any damage and anyway it sounded scrummy-which is the main thing .... and after all that walking i think you deserved something nice:T
Well i can't think of any house work that i have to do..shock horror- so today may well be a cross stitch day :shhh: ..
although its weigh day for me in the morning.. really need to think of something to to burn a few extra cals... especially with it being TTOTM - need to chip away at that 3.5lb so i can reach my 2st off ... think i should hit that target next week.... then i will have to think of another target ....
will be really chuffed to get to a 2st loss as then that will be slightly over 10% of my starting weight - and the medical folk reckon that just 10% off has great medical benefits :T .... just another 8st to go :rotfl: - can't believe that isn't making me freak.. it normally seems so daunting..and suddenly it doesn't :T
I have lots of targets when i think about it... lets see...
I want to get my original wedding and engagement ring back on.... can't get them on my "fat pork sausage fingers":p .... hubby got me a new wedding ring when we went to kefalonia this year and i love it s its the traditional greek wedding pattern, but alternates from gold to platinum going round - but i want my original ones:rolleyes: ... don't know how long it will be mind - still no hurry...
But i guess that aiming for the next 1st off will be easiest...
I had better get off and get my brekkie and cuppa.. hope you all have a great day... stay possitive...:D-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50
