I thought it was pretty impressive but got bored filling it in after 3 days :rotfl:

Then again I either get obsessive about counting things - or I get bored ;):rotfl:

Phew! what a lot of posts:T
Well done to all the losers :A
Frogga - you will beat the demons :A

Right, the good news is..............OH got the job  and started this morning.
The bad news is we had to go out and spend money last night to get him kitted out and we will also have to manage a whole month on my wages until he gets paid so lots of OS cooking and managing for us
I 'celebrated' with a couple of slices of fruit toast for supper but otherwise had a good day foodwise and will now get loads of extra exercise as I'm now back on public transport to get to work:eek: which involves at least an extra hour of walking every day
Today I've had granary toast and marmalade, I've got a hummus and beetroot sandwich and grapes for lunch, tea will be organised when I get home as I didn't get chance last night to prepare anything - I didn't sit down until 9-45pm!!
Have a good day yoday ladies, Oh! nearly forgot........ I LOVE brussels sprouts!! we had them stir-fried last night:j :j :j

Have you tried sweet potatoes? I can't get enough of them! I also think they might be better for you - though not 100% sure of this!

You should try mashing up veg in with your potatoes - my missus does this for [strike]me to get me[/strike] the kids to get them to eat more veg :o

I did try sweet potato once, but I wasn't sure of the flavour. I think I'll have to give it another go.

I couldn't have anything else in my mash. I'm a bit odd that if it isn't how I think it should be I can't eat it. Like fruit squash, to me its always been a cold drink, so I can't have it hot or even fruit teas......something just goes off in my head.

I am thinking about teaching myself to eat cabbage next. I eat white cabbage no problem in coleslaw, I make it chunky so I know and taste what it is........so I figure its time to give cabbage a go now. When I was a kid we were forced to eat cabbage and sprouts etc and I can remember gagging, thats why I have to introduce it slowly and one new thing at a time.

Well done Sola and Turbogran on yor loss :money:

And big congrats to rockie4 hubby on the job

My hubby has been out of work for a while now and applying for loads of jobs, nothing as yet.....but that might be due to his age. He is over 50 (I like older men ;) )

Morning all, Sorry to hear of your struggle Frogga but well done for telling us all, and please know that we are all here struggling and not one of us i going to be judgmental or condemming, you are our inspiration and you provide more than you could possibly imagine towards keeping us going!
Well I have had a bowl of bran flakes today, last night was HM bolognaise with lentils and beef. Today will be more difficult as we have workmen in the house putting in a new boiler and new shower, so kitchen is off limits and there is intermittent water and electric! Oh well will see what we can do, lunch is more of a problem, but again we may have to struggle through for two days, but it should all be worth it.
Right well, off to the post office and a quick walk around town, it is known as exercise! Should also go the gym tonight, if not just to use the showers!
    keep smiling all!

FC - oo I love sweet potatoes - prefer them as oven wedges or soup to mashed or baked somehow. They are very nutritious altho I can't rememeber all the details.

lol, I used to think they can't be nutritious because they're sweet, what a plonker. Like you, I can't remember the details but I'm positive they're better for you than erm unsweet potatoes.

I also love mashed carrots and swede mixed together or mashed parsnip or cubed butternut squash. I'm such a child :)

    God, I'm hungry now.

Try Sauerkraut (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sauerkraut#Health_Benefits) it is miles more interesting and tasty than plain cabbage. To be honest, it's blimmin' gorgeous!! :)

    Hi there

The sweet potato is lower GI than the good old potato and so is a slower realesing carb...and you don't get a burst of energy followed by a slump..they keep your blood sugar stable and they keep you full for longer ;) ..

  • Just back in the office with my Boots Meal Deal. I go there with a friend from work and every tuesday we get weighed on the scales. I find that my weight can vary massively from day to day and certainly from scale to scale, so we use the same machine, at the same time of day (Tues 12:00) and because we're in our usual work clothes, they pretty much have a constant weight on us too.

I am annoyed to report that I'm still stuck on 13st 13lb - three weeks in a row. Most frustrating! :(

EDIT:: Hurrah! :D I just realised that I was looking at an old Boots weighing machine receipt!! I actually dropped a LB (at last) and I'm now 13st 12lb!! Now, I know it's not a huge weight drop by many standards but I've been at 13/13 for so long now that I'm really chuffed. (I will have to start looking at the receipts when they come out of the machine, not stuffing them into my pocket and looking later )

I'm back on course for my 13st 7lb target :)
