Weighed myself:6lbs off, thats nearly half a stone!!
So now I've got to make sure that I don't get on that lift going up.
Thanks for all the helpful posts, they really are an inspiration.:kisses3:What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots0 -
Woohoo - another pound gone! Total loss 6lbs - a quarter of my Christmas goal of losing 25lbs. I'm eating better than I've ever eaten before, working out daily (alternating cardio DVD and weights) and having a whale of a time.
I've rediscovered my love of cooking; now I've just got to find stuff DH will eat as well (he's not a fan of sweeter veg which is a shame with all that lovely root veg around at this time of year). He loves savoury dishes with yoghurt - tonight is going to be roast chicken (rubbed with a paste of olive oil and Indian spices - cumin, turmeric, ground coriander), flavoured rice of some kind (I often fry it with onions and peas), and a combination of tinned chickpeas, celery, cucumber, red pepper and cashew nuts in 0% Greek yoghurt flavoured with mint sauce; any leftovers will do for work lunch Wednesday. Last night we had salmon fillets, jacket potatoes with a bit of butter, and peas.
Hope everyone has a good day0 -
Morning everyone  -although stricylt im sure it is the middle of the night
hi frogga..hope things are a little better for you this morning...
 well done sola and turbogran on those great weigh loses:dance:
Hope everyone gets up this morning full of inspiration and determination... its another new day-so anything that has happened before- is over and done with
Mousey mousey.... well done on getting into those jeans:T .... it doesn't matter what size the lable says.... you couldn't wear them before, you can now - thats all that matters... great achievement:T
Spendaholic.... That loaf sounds nice... my mum would love that, she makes all sorts of tea loafs...
I have to be honest.. me n hubby get through hods of veggies - we eat even more usually..but i have cut portions down, we still must get all 5 of our portions on our plate in an evening :rotfl: - but hubby doesn't bother with fruitand i have had to cut back on the amount of fruit i eat.... i know its good for me...but not in the quantities i can do
i think nothing of sitting with a whole punnet of nectarines, 1 of plums, and a huge bag of grapes instead of a meal(or after:o ).... for anyone who doesn't like sprouts..try them shredded whilst raw and then stirfried.... they taste very different.....
Nodwah... never tried those brussel pakoras.. but my sister loves those mushypea burgers you can get from some chip shops  can't say as i fancy the idea mind ..even though i love mushies too..with mint sauce on mmmm
Does your mum know that you are trying to be carefull with what you eat??? I know that quite often when folks are trying to lose weight etc... family and friends can try and sabotage them...usually without meaning too.... I know a couple of folks who do it.... but they are back in the UK :rotfl: and can't reach me :T . It can be so difficult can't it... even if its your fave thing..you can decide not to buy any -dash out of the shop and try and ignore it.. but if someone slaps it on a plate in front of you..thats a whole different game
Turbo-gran... nope we won't allow you to get off the lift you are on.. you are on the "down" lift and staying on it :T ... if you get off just think of all those horrible steps going "up" again
Sola... my hubby isn't a fan of the sweeter veg.. really doesn't get parsnips at all.. but swede is ok... good job too as i wang it in allsorts-as i love it and i can eat it and then eat less potato... but other than that there isn't much hubby doesn't like....which helps :T .....
well im going to have my weetabix in a moment
lunch is left over corned beef hash
and for dinner im doing fish with hm parsley sauce, mashed potato n swede and heapppps of veggies
well i had better get of...hope everyone is well and has a great day.. keep up the good work :T-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Hi.....I used to be like that too. It got to the point where I used almost anything as an excuse to give up and binge. Now if I want a sweet I let myself have one or two and that way I so far don't want 100's of them.
I have to say my one weakness is potatos. I just love them. Can't get enough of 'em. Offer me a choice between a potato and chocolate and I would chose the tatty.
I'm not a great lover of other veg so I am slowly trying new ones and incorporating them into my diet. 2 years ago I wouldnt have touched peppers but now I like them. Though I can't ever see me eating sprouts:rotfl:
Have you tried sweet potatoes? I can't get enough of them! I also think they might be better for you - though not 100% sure of this!
You should try mashing up veg in with your potatoes - my missus does this for [STRIKE]me to get me[/STRIKE] the kids to get them to eat more veg0 -
Morning!
well done to Turbo-gran and Sola:T and to all the other losers!;)
was good last night and didn't eat anything after my dinner - watched DH polish off 2 penguin bars:rolleyes:
Today I've had organic muesli and banana for breakfast.Am off out for coffee and usually have a slice of HM cake at the WI with my Mum so may give in to this, buty I am walking so will try and burn it off!:D
For lunch it will be something on toast, probably spaghetti od poached eggs.
dinner is HM lasagne, salad and a handful of oven chips. In between I'll eat yoghurt and bananas and grapes.
have a good day all.
Frogga - hope you're feeling positive today - xxxDo what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning all.
Just wanted to report a ½ lb loss. Not much but another one of those and it makes a total stone lost
Had toad in the hole yesterday with roast parsnips and carrots - yum. Also had sprouts. I like them as long as they aren't cooked to death - soft and squidgy ukk.
Lunch is HM chilli from freezer on a small jacket potato.
Tonight will be fish pie - and more sprouts.
Been sneaking red lentils in with the mince in shepherds pie and lasagna for months now and this weekend one of the boys actually noticed and asked what the little orange "dots" areThey still ate it though

Morning all !
Spirits are willing this morning hut the flesh feels knackered - didn't exactly sleep badly but had to get up 4-5 times for a wee - odd as did not drink more than usual last night and it hasn't got suddenly colder. It's sadly noticable how I feel consistently tired all the time whilst back working. For most of last week I was feeling so much better, brimming with energy and not napping and just very cheery generally. Oh well
Manky looking day out and I feel like hibernating, also have a few bits to do and feel resentful of doing them as " its my day off innit, why should I ". Keep consoling myself with the thought that I have the weekend off as a/l from weekend job so can enjoy myself then. Going to have a bath and then nip off to Waitrose. I've got a craving for chicken so that will be dinner. Should eat breakfast before I go but can't face it quite yet
Turbogran, newlywed and Sola, well done on your weight losses !:T a 1/2b is nothing to be sniffed at - try picking up 1/2lb of butter - quite solid and heavy, isnt it !
FC - oo I love sweet potatoes - prefer them as oven wedges or soup to mashed or baked somehow. They are very nutritious altho I can't rememeber all the details.
Nodwah - brussels sprouts pakora ?? oo... thats just... filthy, LOL.
MrsM - right there with you on the fruit - I could go through a whole punnet of strawberries no problem, or 2-3 punnets of blueberries in one go, a plate of varied fruit with a bit of bread and cheese is my idea of culinary delight, that or a ploughmans lunch. I love most kind of cooked veggies very much although can't eat vast quantities in one go - I just tend to end up eating loads of salad veggies as easier/quicker to prepare, also if am feeling a bit iffy I can face eating them whereas I might not be able to cope with cooked stuff.
Must go and get in that blinking bath before it gets cold" Baggy, and a bit loose at the seams.. "~ November 8th 2008. Now totally DEBT FREE !~0 -
Wow. Well done peeps on your weight loss! That's brilliant :j
I've just got to work, haven't had any breakfast yet but have fruit and rice cakes in my bag. Meeting friend for lunch today, will aim for something healthy.
The hardest thing is not having my usual choccie croissant for breakfast and those afternoon munchies!
Can I ask, does anyone calorie count on here? If so, do you know a free website which does some of the calculations for you?

I use Fitday.com and it's brilliant - a bit American so you have to work out things like aubergine vs. eggplant, but the report function is excellent. It will add up calories (I'm aiming for around 1500/day), give you averages over a week/2/weeks/month. It'll look at your nutrient profile over the same timespan so you can see what you're low on compared to the RDAs. It'll break down how much of your intake is carbs/protein/fat (I'm aiming for 50% carbs, less than 30% fat and the rest on protein (others do 40/30/30). It'll give your weight changes in figures and charts, and calculate how much you need to lose a week when you input a goal. You can log activities and it'll work out how many calories you've burned and how you're progressing.0
