  • eumenides -understand about the thought of loss of " honeymoon shine ", but what it is with me is work stress sometimes gets under my skin so much that I get sick to my stomach and can't bear the thought of dealing with food right up until the last minute, hence buying rubbish from the shop - as can't even face making toast or heating soup up etc. I am determined not to buy crud today, even if I don't eat brilliantly.

Grats on your loss, Keiss. I love using gammon stock for soups ! give yourself a big pat on the back for all the cooking AND the cycling :P

emmie - haven't used the site you mentioned but if its any help, a lot of us are doing the regular food in smaller portions thing naturally, there is lots of support and tips here for doing that if you'd like :)

rockie - awww sorry to hear you're still feeling poorly. Try and blast yourself with as much vit C as you can and at least dinner is nice and straightforward when you get home :)

Have just had a cuppa and 2 rice cakes with pb, chopped fresh apply and celery. Hour and a quarter of being on duty to go and I feel pathetically worn out already. Also feel guilty as I do realise I am lucky to have jobs and a decent roof over my head and feel bad for venting about the stress :(

Well I am back on the straight and narrow again.

I got up late (really didnt sleep well last night) so didnt have breakfast. Just had lunch. A jacket pot with cheese and low cal coleslaw. I use a very fine grater so I use very little cheese but because of how it looks when grated it looks more than there is......IYKWIM. I find if I use a proper size grater its so easy to use far to much cheese.

Not sure what is for tea. I was thinking something with mince. Like Keiss 21 I sometimes add a whole bag of soya mince. I find that and 800g of mince does us (all 6 of us) for about 3/4 meals depending on what it then gets turned into. I think I'll make a lasagne as my son actually likes it. I'll bung in some extra veg too. Thats if my tiredness doesnt catch up with me this afternoon.

Well done Keiss 21 and rockie4
  • Hello

I'd really like to join in, only not today because I have a hangover and can't face health food.
I weigh 10st 7lbs but I'm only 5ft so need to lose 2st. I'd love to lose a stone for Xmas. Next year I have a wedding to go to and my boyfriends ex will be there and she's a size 8 :( so that'll be my motivation for the second stone. I've secretly taken to undoing the top button of my trousers at work cos they are soooo tight!!:o :o I love all things bad, not so much sweet stuff but the crackling from the pork yesterday was divine and I love butter on everything!I have a bad back and I've started getting heartburn (I'm only 26! ).

I made two big batches of soup yesterday (bacon n lentil and a veggie one) so my plan will be much the same as everyone else’s. Porridge for brekkie, soup for lunch and a lady-sized dinner..no pud! I quite fancy ordering I will make you thin by Paul McKenna and I must make better use of the gym I pay for!
Today I will mostly be surviving on coffee and painkillers and water and toast but tomorrow I'll start good n proper.
For dinner tonight though we have left over Sunday stuff with a rack of lamb (how to resist lovely crispy lamb fat!! am I sick? :o ).

Emmie: I've used weightlossresources and it's really good for calorie counting (you can just do the free trial over and over) but I find it can become a little obsessive all that counting, not to mention time consuming.

Will post tomorrow with news of a healthy diet and better exercise plan!

I've not used weightlossresources.com but I use Fitday.com. A friend of mine uses sparkpeople.com which is much more of a community thing; I prefer Fitday for my own records but there are some good articles on Sparkpeople.

    Hi all

I too found that when calorie counting I get a bit to obsessed, so although i have used weightlossresourse and fitday in the past I just can't keep it up.
Is what I find is that there is so much effort going into losing the weight that if for a week or two nothing comes off I get depressed about it and hence start scoffing to make myself 'feel' better.

Since coming on here though and aiming for healthy eating and portion control I find that if I haven't lost any weight for a week it doesn't really matter because I have spent little effort or time trying to.....and on that note I will just add that I weighed in this morning.....no loss, but at least no gain either as I have eaten some unhealthy foods this week inc. Pizza, Cake, Crisps, Nuts and on Sat a LOT of beer........

    - Keiss 21. stick with the cycling, it is one of the best forms of excercise for fitness/weightloss as it is a big muscle group workout and works the heart very well....as does running and swimming.

Hello all, I have been feeling very tired and lethargic today so didn't want to write anything, but now feel a little better. I got up and had a small bowl of bran flakes and then went to the gym, did 35mins "fat burning", got out of the gym feeling just as tired as i was when i went in! Oh well!

I then felt really hungry so had some toast with lime marmalade. I have made some bolognaise in the slow cooker as we may not have access to our kitchen from tomorrow for a couple of days, i have also made a cake, to get rid of my sweet things craving, have had a small slice and will make sure others eat the rest!
Heading back to the gym this evening as they are doing free visitors passes today and tomorrow and OH wants to go tonight, not sure what i will do though!
Hope you are all well and not worrying too much about losing weight!
I will weigh myself next sunday and see if there is any progress, today looking exceptionally bloated!???
Oh well it is monday, but i have just been invited for an interview for a part time job that should fit in with running my own business, so fingers crossed for that!

Smile everyone life is really not that bad:)

I only post spasmodically on here, sorry - but i do catch up with you guys every day!! Have been 'being good' (well, I don't like the 'diet' word!) for 3 and a half weeks now and have lost 4.8kg, so I think thats 11 pounds - and well, you lot have helped tremendously!

Am having wholemeal toast for breakfasts (just one roll, perhaps with a poached egg, maybe with extra light philadelphia, or museli), and salad (maybe with tuna, or rice noodles, or just leftovers) for lunch - and a normal dinner (but smaller portions!). Deserts are pineapple / fruit, or sugar free jelly. Treats are low fat yoghurts, and snacks are nuts, seeds, dried apricots or rice crackers. OH has lost weight without really trying. Have started cooking (i generally batch cook once a month) with canola oil instead of olive, and i've been ignoring OH's cheese. Mostly.

Now i'm working on some 'treats' like cakes and biscuits for us to have for lunches.. maybe some uber healthy flapjacks that he can eat on the road.

But yes - anyway, just wanted to say thank you x
