    British Heart Foundation diet

I picked up this booklet (I dont have heart disease, and i plan to keep it that way) in my gym.It is based on the "balance of good health" way of eating.

Its called "so you want to lose weight...for good".
    You can also download it.

I find the A4 booklet contains very sensible guidelines and you eat by portions of food groups rather than counting calories. Also using this board for inspiration for meals.

    My DH has heart disease.

I am having difficulty navigating their website to find it-But if you google
"so you want to lose weight for good heart foundation"
    It brings it up

(I was also given a more basic version of this by my doctor when I asked advice re weight loss. So I think its regarded as a safe diet to follow)

    (British Heart foundation 020 7935 0185)
Heart Information line 08450 70 80 70-an information line for the public and health professionals on issues relating to heart health(BHF)

    Hope this helps your OH

RE temptations- cheese is one of mine-so i chop it into 30 or 40 gram pieces ( one portion on my diet) and freeze it-that way I am not tempted to snack as I pass the fridge.

Afternoon everyone ,Hi to everyone whos just started to join in.
and well done to everyone whos had a good week .

Had a lie in this morning then got caught up doing stuff around the house and it was 12pm when i had my porridge , raisons and a prune yogurt so have just had a sandwhich using rye and pumpkin bread from aldi it was nice but couldnt eat more then a couple of slices at a time.
tea i thnk will be sausage , mash veg and gravy.then i might have a can of larger later.
dd3 whos 6 is always in the cupboards looking for food i'm lucky that she'll eat lots of fruit but i'm trying to limit the snacking between meals down by promising her a treat (super)before bed so she knows she's got a treat to look forwards to just a couple of home made biscuits ect .
