  • hi everyone

I cant remember who posted it yesterday, but I downloaded the Paul McKenna 'taster' mp3 and listened to it on the train.

Not sure if it was Paul, or just the positivity from this thread, but I have had a great day foodwise. Had Porridge for brekkie, pasta and tom sauce for lunch, went to the gym and did 30 min spin class, bought a large bag of fruit pastilles, ate a few, dropped nearly half!, then I begrudingly offered the rest to my the team just so that I didnt eat them all to myself. I then made myself so busy at work that i didnt even think about food until 8pm where I have the left over pasta. Everyone was soooo shocked to see me eating a packed lunch. It felt great not having spent a penny on food at work today, and knowing that I was going to like what I was going to eat!

Have just got home and felt like a white chocolate Magnum, so had one. Dont feel at all guilty at all.
  • oh, and does anyone know where I can get hold of a very cheap (or free) copy of the Paul McKenna CD 'i can make you thin'??

I was rushing yesterday so bought some Boots Shapers stuff (wrap and pasta salad) and couldn't believe how high in calories it still was; I'd eaten my day's allotted amount by early afternoon so ended up going over for dinner (stuffed quorn breasts with jackets and 0% Greek yoghurt). Am definitely not going down that route again and sticking with homemade stuff; I have some soup and bread to take in for lunch. Am pleased that I didn't do my usual fat-laden breakfast though. The key for me is preparing lunch the night before to avoid a morning panic.

Going out to a Harvester tonight so will have chicken or fish and stock up at the salad bar (no dessert).

I tried to climb the 5 flights of stairs at work yesterday morning, and only managed to get to 3 before having to get the lift, so that's something to work on.

Thanks cotsvale - I don't mind getting out of breath, but it was murder on my back which seized up, so I'll have to be careful. As I go up and down to that floor at least 5 times a day, I want to get to the point where I can walk it all the time instead of hopping in the lift. I did a lot of walking in Spain last week and I think my back is still protesting.

Im out of bed frogga.... sshhhh... only just and its an hour later here:shhh: .....

    Morning one and all

Well another 1kilo gone this morning _party_ .... so thats 1st 10.5lb in 9 weeks and if i had a little smiley doing cartwheels i would put one :D . My next mini target is to get that 3.5lb off.. hopefully in the next 2 weeks but if it takes 3, 4 or longer thats ok ....
I put my skirt on the yesterday, the one that used to be tight-(i used to have to breath in to fasten it), and then i had a 2-3 inch gap at the waist.. well now i can put my purse in my front pocket, and can get my hands in, without breathing in...before i had no chance , and its now about 2 inch longer on me..in fact i think its gonna end up touching the floor:j

Didn't get on here much last night..babysat next doors little one..so only had time to pop on to make sure i hadn't missed too much :D

Well i was thinking (i do sometimes:p )yesterday about the differences i am noticing in the last few weeks... and not related to what the scales say either.... so far i have noticed:-
    • I usually take hours to get to sleep..fidget for 2-3 hours drop off eventually..then toss and turn all night - for the last few weeks..im dropping off really quickly and sleeping solidly... guess its not having all sorts of gunk messing my system up.
    • i now get up in a morning..not feeling sluggish and like i have allready eaten.. before i used to get up feeling so eughhhh and grotty.
    • My mood seems more stable, not up one minute and crashing down the next..
Well let me catch up on your posts...this may be long..shock horror:D

Vixtresss.... don't appologise for having a rant.. get it out your system on here.... even though the scales haven't said what you would like.. you know that you are losing as your clothes fit better...
The scales might have stayed the same as you could be retaining water, or toning up and muscle weighs more than fat.
Please don't get too disheartened, and down on yourself... come on - you will be fine :D

taplady... your sister is so right.. 2lb is neither here nor there... its when we then think "oh blow" it and start stuffing that its a problem... come on we have all been there:p ... So well done on slapping that pesky 2lb down!:T

Sola... its amazing where they can hide cals isn't it.... i remember a report that compared various things and some pub salads were using loads more cals, fat etc than a big mac meal:eek: ... now we all Know dressing are often terrible.. but you would like to think that the ratio of dressing to salad would still make it a better option....
at least with home made you have control of what goes in..although i must admit that i used to love some of the ready made shapers stuff:o ....
Just think of all that cash you are saving too :T even if you chuck £1 in a tin every time you take a packed lunch.. you could get yourself a little non food treat every so often.. A nice face pack, nail varnish etc... make you feel great and that you aren't going without:T

You all have me pondering... i had the paul mckenna cd "i can make you slim"... i listened to it about 8 times.. and then gave it to a lady on MSE before i left the UK.... i had stopped using it, so thought she may as well have it.. now you have me wondering if that may have helped....
It would explain the complete attitude change i have had about eating... as i really can't explain it.... i mean if someone even says chocolate... i actually feel quite sicky..and the thoughts of it makes my stomach churn.. and i can now stop eating when i have had enough -even if its something i love :p

I think most of all i would like to thank all of you lovely people for all the constant support, help, hints n tips... its priceless...so THANK YOU :T

well i really should get off and get my brekkie....

Having 2 slices of HM bread -toasted and buttered
    lunch will probably be fruit/yoghurts..
and dinner is roast turkey, HM stuffing, veggies and the like mmmm

Hope everyone has a good day...sorry to anyone i have missed.. will catch up later....:D

I think, for me, this is what all this is about - our bodies weren't really designed to have all sorts of weird chemically thingies floating around in them all the time, so it's not really surprising when they react by getting fat and sluggish.

If we just try to cut back on these things, we're giving our bodies a chance to sort themselves out. I think listening to what my body really needs, not what it thinks it needs, is the way to go for me - I may think I'm craving chocolate, but half the time I'm thirsty!

I find I'm thinking about when I can have food less, so I'm obsessing less, and am less likely to feel bad when I eat a bit more.

I'm just asking myself if I really want something before I have it, and if I'll feel like it was worth it after I've had it - most of the time no, so I don't bother!:D

I've not lost any weight yet, but I feel much more positive about it, and I really think it's making my relationship with food a lot better.

Hmmmm.... That's rather a long ramble for me, but it helped me to put words around how I was feeling about this whole thing - hope you didn't mind! :rotfl:
