Yeah I think there's a lot to be said for the mental image we hold of ourselves; even when I've successfully lost weight in the past, it's taken a while for my inner picture of myself to match up. Goodness knows how people who've lost stone after stone manage that.
I'm going to get DH to take a pic of me in my underwear and stick it on the fridge. That'll motivate me. I used to know a website (can't remember it now) where you choose a pre-set image that looked like you, input your height and weight, and you could morph it to give you a rough idea of how you'd look at a particular weight. Does anyone know it?0 -

Have an interview today which is good, because I've not been having much luck finding work, but I'm nervous because it's been a while.
Someone remind me I don't need to pig whilst 'preparing'?
It shouldn't be that big a deal - it's just for supply work, but not getting LOADS of jobs I've gone for over the past year has dented my confidence a bit - hence the weight gain...
Have a great day everyone - I'm off to dig out my qualifications and iron a shirt!0 -
Well, even tho I had a carp day yesterday I didn't go overboard with food, I did eat 3 cookies and a bit of chocolate even tho I wanted to go to the store to buy stuff to make proper nachos - tortillas chips, cheese, tomato, spring onion, sour cream, slasa, guacamole.........
FOund out that I am already on half pay, I thought I had 2 more months of full pay....................... still can't work.0 -
debtfreehopeful-just went to https://www.mvm.com. what a shock! I cant believe how adding 30 kilos to the model made such a difference (I know it should be obvious).
The 'larger' model looked so much like me!.....then i started tinkering, and took a few pounds off her, could see what i would look like after I had lost 20 kilos. I cant believe it *reformed takes a minute to recover*
Thanks for posting that sire-will be on it all the time now!0 -
can't get that site to work. Will try later.0

Hi all,
I think if you want to use sweetners then it's up to you. I don't use them personally because I don't like them but I use marge and loads of people say you shouldn't - but too much butter makes me itch (eczema).
black-saturn - I know from your menu plan threads that you eat good meals and all cooked from scratch. (In fact when I first came to the site your easy recipes helped and inspired me to try new recipes). Have you tried the little things like frying onions in water or dry frying, starting off meals and sauces with water instead of oil? Do you use semi-skimmed milk etc?
Sometimes it's the little things that add up - and not everything is about eating a whole field full of fruitworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
I tried on lots of my clothes last night - got a skirt and pair of trousers way too big (into the ebay pile). Have a few things in the getting to be too big for me pile. Discovered 2 more skirts that fit now and four more pairs of trousers!! :j Was very happy after that
I have kept trying to persuade OH to let me get a slow cooker - think he is finally softening. He kept saying that there is no room for it in the kitchen (with his coffee maker he's only used twice - in 3 years, and the George Foreman that I only use about 4 times a year because I hate cleaning it). But he wants to go play football with friends on a Friday and there isn't enough time after we get home to cook and then eat - so I tried the slow cooker it'll be ready as soon as we are home hint. Think it's finally sinking in
Anyone know if Tesco still have the offer on and if 3.5 ltr is enough for 4 people?.... trundles off to find the slow cooker threads and check if the recipes are low fatworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
After reading you lovely ladies since this thread started I thought I would delurk and finally post.
I have been eating properly for a week now and I weighed myself today and I have lost 4lbs. :j
So a bit of background on me. I am a stay at home mum to 4. I have tried WW and though I did lose some weight I found that the leader really wasn't that helpful and in the end lost the desire to go and put the weight and then some back on.
When I was younger I was always a 10 then having kids, giving up smoking and some pretty serious bouts of post natal depression the weight just snuck on. I don't really want to be a weight as such, would rather get down to a dress size that I am happy and comfortable with.
I can do good food during the day no problem, but my problem time is the night. I don't sleep to well so I have a tendancy to go mad at night and eat - this last week thats pretty much stopped. Before I started last week I had brought myself a big bag of pic and mix. Normally I would have eaten it in one day. Instead at night when I was starting to crave it I allowed myself a few bits and after that I didn't want anymore. I am using the some mind tricks I used when I gave up smoking. I dont tell people I have quit, its to final and makes me crave it all the more, even after 7 years. I just say that I am a smoker who hasn't had a cigarette today and if I really really want a cigarette I can have one. I think there are even some in the house hidden away, though they might be a bit rotten after all this timeI never have got to the point of lighting up cos I know it'll make me pig sick, but knowing that I can if I want to makes all the difference.
Anyway enough rambling from me....just a big hello and thank you for all your help you have already given me.0 -
