    Evening ladies :D

ooohhh where is martins post? don't like to miss anything:p

kittyscarlett... so glad you are feeling great -well done on getting round town ok and well done on getting the freezer filled..isn't it nice when you enjoy spending time in the kitchen..rather than seeing it as a chore and a mental battle ground ...i think the word that stood out for me in you post..was "relaxed".... great that you are feeling that way.... i love making pastry...one of my strengths :T ..but i dont even think you here of TV chefs making puff/flaky very often ;) .. Hot water crust is my fave..oooh pork pie mmmm.. think i may end up having to do puff/flaky as its not something i think i will find here  ...

    wooohooo frogga

moonpixiewitch... "eat with chopsticks" verrry helpful  .... i really would give the OS a go... trust me.. i could eat "a pea more than a pig" :p .... now, by eating HM meals..pies n allsorts i have actually got control of my appetite - just by thinking of it long term -its not a diet and i "can" have anything i want... suddenly its not as interesting... the minute you tell yourself "i can't" or "i shouldn't" or lable foods as "bad" and "naughty".. they suddenly seem so much more attractive....
I put out a smaller portion than before... telling myself that if, after 30 mins after i have finished eating i am still hungry then i can have something else.. and so far i haven't wanted anything.

mousey.. way to go thats it..pamper youself, its amazing how when we start treating ourselves better... and in non foody ways you feel so much better and it has a snowball effect...
I have loads of clarins goodies from the last time we were in germany (we get them a lot cheaper and tax free:T ) so i have them all stood in a lovely container on a ledge in the bathroom and i am making myself a promise now that i am going to start using them every day... when i run out hubby will be happy as it means he doesn't have to think about what to buy for my birthday and xmas - 3 days apart :D

My sis has just had to have a radical hysterectomy after they found a huge mass... bless her she had lost loads of weight (WW) and looked about 9 months pregnant... tuns out she had a 16lb mass attatched to her ovary  .. she had it all removed and the mass was in a sack of 3 litre of fluid.. turns out is was cancer.. but they reckon they are 99% sure that it is nowhere else as the fluid contained it... but they can't annalyse what the fluid was.. despite several places trying.... so she is now laid up in bed..but everyone thinks that has made her lose weight... she has worked her bum off.. i told her to carry her ww card with her and wave it under their noses:rotfl:

    well back to normal..
Had corned beef hash and 1 dumpling mmmmm made 4 so hubby had the other3 an 2 servings of stew.. god knows where we used to put the rest i used to make...greedy moo:p ..I only used 3oz flour and 1 1/2oz suet - i had enough stew left for lunch tomorrow and the rest of the liquid i have thrown lentils in, cooked it down and blitzed it and made a yummy broth :T
Haven't quite decided on tea tomorrow.. thinking roast chicken n stuffing ..yep thats it i reckon:D

well i had better stop rattling and go and see if i can find martins post

Keep up the good work one and all... have a great evening :D

Sorry I should have elaborated on that. I listen to it just before I go to sleep. He talks about training your brain to recognise when you have eaten enough and to stop eating when you are full. Then he tells you to visualise how you will look and feel when you are at your ideal weight and in time you will think of that every time you feel like eating something naughty.

I think I will have to listen to it every couple of days. I listened to it last night and today I have eaten really slimly and been very good. I havn't even thought of anything like biscuits, sweets or cakes. But I can feel chocolate cravings coming back again so I might have to listen to it again tomorrow.

  • can i join you guys?....I havent read all posts, but I am so inspired by this thread that I have actually boiled some pasta, and have chucked a few turkey chunks into a frying pan with tomato sauce and onions. That must count as cooking surely?

Wow?!...some of you may think but trust me, this is a big deal for me, I waste sooooooo much money (£300-400 per month) on takeaways/ready meals/work canteen you have no idea, if it wasnt for the fact I wanted to watch Coronation Street, I would have gone to get a Chinese tonight!

I am bang on 16 stone, and desperately want to shift the pounds for good this time....so am willing to take any advice dished out!....
    GOOD LUCK EVERYONE xx

I'm still quite new to the MSE forums, and have spent most of that time in the houses/mortgages posts, but want to spend more time tackling my weight now

  • Just to say, the reason I stopped enjoying my kitchen and therefore cooking in it was due to a relationship break up :) It's really hard to take joy in a room that's constantly haunted by images and memories of you both preparing, cooking and eating meals in it :) Probably another reason I got so dependent on shopbought crap. Much easier to just shut the kitchen door and pass it by with a bagful of junk food than go inside and attempt to make food in it.
