    Thanks - that's great.
Do these all come from the same book - if so it might be one to put on my list. OH has Delia's fish book but I didn't feel very inspired by it :o

  • Monkfish is a meaty textured fish - use it like you would fresh tuna. You should fillet it off the spine if it hasn't been done already, its easier to eat that way. It's very nice steamed in foil w/ veggies and a bit of soy, or added into a fish pie!

    Hi newlywed

No im affraid they aren't..i have 75 cook books plus mags.... not that i am posting recipes straight from any book..what with copyright laws you understand :D

I don't know if you have a "Buy Rights" or "QD" store near you? if you do they are worth keeping an eye on.. some of my best books are from there... things like 220 Low-cholesterol cook book, 220 low fat baking book.... they are brilliant and cost £3.99....and have all the nutritional info in them... but you have to keep an eye out on a regular basis as they tend to have books that are gone once they have gone..if that makes sense..... i have seen jamie, hairy bikers n all sorts in there

75 cook books - OH would have a fit!! ;)

No QD or Buy Right stores here - never heard of them. I have bought a few cook books that I never use so banned myself from buying them for a while - other than the Good Food books. Still on the lookout for some more books but tend to buy them and use about 3 recipes!!

I get really annoyed at recipes that use 200 ingredients and spices that you've never heard of and will never use again!!

morning all! 2 days off now :D :j much easier to diet at home than work!
going to batch make some lasagne today - using skimmed milk and a little mature cheddar with lean mince, peppers, mushrooms and onions.Plus am making the sauce myself so I know whats in it!
    Here's todays plans

    28g porridge with skimmed milk

    banana

low sugar/salt spaghetti on small brown toast, sprinking of cheese

    grapes

    lasagne with steamed veggies

    low fat yoghurt

The only problem I might have is that I'm having coffee later at the W.I. with Mum and we usually have a slice of HM cake there. Have to see how good my will power is!;)

    have a good day all!

Wow i can't believe anyone finds it easier to diet at home over work....
I work two full days where I find myself barely eating. I take a salad and fruit with me and that is all I will eat for the entire 9hr shift.......

Wheras at home I am becoming increasingly worried that my cupboard hinges are getting worn out, the amount of times I open and close them,:o AND the fridge, the poor fridge, how it ever remains cold is beyond me. As I must stare longingly into it for the best part of 4hrs each day:eek: so much temptation so little stopping me....:EasterBun

Anyway it is my birthday today and the kids will be mighty upset if i don't have a cake with candles for them to take turns blowing out....

    Mel x

MrsM - I used to do Xstitch - but moved onto beading and bead weaving. Hooked on that and abandoned Xstitch ;)

    Hello everyone!

Haven't posted for a little while, just had a read through to catch up with everyone. It's fantastic that everyone's doing so well.

Just wanted to say that I've never felt this good before on a d - i - e - t. Have to spell it otherwise I might think its a d**t or something. I am eating exactly the same as the rest of the family, but from a smaller plate, mash roasties and all. If I want a biccie I have one, don't pick the biggest chocolate covered one, but I have one all the same. For me it's definitely worked what a few of you have been saying about portion sizes. I'm determined not to weigh myself before 1st Nov, just hope it's worth the wait (pardon the pun).

Cooking everything from scratch has been interesting too. Not sure kiddies think that, but they're eating it, so that's good enough for me.

In the past I've thought about nothing but food, now that's changing, slowly mind you, but it's changing. It's not something I'd talk to friends here about, but when I read some of your posts I cry - I recognise so much of myself. It turns out that eating something 'naughty' isn't the end of the world, it really isn't. And it turns out I'm not alone in doing it either. And if you can resist and be good then so can I.

A steady 1lb per week, would be great for me. This time I want it to stay off. I honestly believe that it will too. I'm not on a diet, I'm eating heathily, with proper food that I've cooked myself. Not to mention the difference in price! (Aren't those horrible weight watchers tooth fillers aawful).

Anyway, I rant. Huge hugs to you all (I can't bring myself to use that hug sign - ruuuude peeps). :rotfl:

    Love
