Hello All - hope all well. Newlywed I liked the idea of adding lentils & bulking it out a bit, did you have to soak them first? Darling has just been to the library to collect my books, I have the Big Soup diet, which sounds good; if I find anything I think you'd like I'll post it. I liked the diet on the web, sounded like common sense & what we are all basically doing? I looked at another diet but it started off telling you to go & buy a jar of mayo so I think it was a GI/Atkins thing. I read that people lose a lot of weight of those, but I think you are still 'on a diet' - and as said we are in this for life now. Apart from that it just cant be healthy to eat all that meat & mayo? Had a bit of scare today and my chest got really tight. The ambulance came (oh embarassing) but I am fine!!Muscle spasm or something. Blood pressure is up so another good reason to lose the extra person I am carting around. Onwards gals..0

The urge has passed! thank heavens!!!:T
Had a big dinner ~ Small jacket pot with small tin of beans
Lots of Curley Kale, Carrots, Spinach and Red Cabbage
Yummy yummy now I'm full. full in the tummy but not full in my head if you know what I mean? Could quite happily eat more even though I'm stuffed!:rotfl:
Anyway, now going to brush my teeth to prevent any further consumption!
Well done on your loss ME , (that's M.E not Me!)
Leopard Lady , welcome xx and it's a campaign not a plan!!!! Get it right!:rotfl:

Oh I am sorry Frogga i will change my signature immediately!
Well done with the will power, it can be hell!
I really don't like pasta that much but H to be loves it, so tonight i will indulge him and it means i will be eating less as i feel really full on a lot less of it!
I do feel quite proud as i went to see someone about wedding cakes this afternoon and they also sold chocolates and sweets in large jars! I was very tempted to get something but convinced myself that money could be spent much better somewhere else, don't know where yet, but somewhere!Leopardlady

Hi all
I am startig to sabbotage this healthy eating stint by stuffing my chubby cheeks with choccy.......
I weighed in this morn and had lost 2lb (12lb total so far) but it just puts me into the wrong frame of mind where I think oh i'v done well it doesn't matter if i eat some crap etc, etc, etc...
It gets hard to keep the motivation going......
Good luck all of you

Just found this website, it appears to be free. It has a simple aproach to sensible basic eating, it is very long winded and I have'nt read it all yet but I am going to give it a go. From what I can gather its basicly three meals a day with life in between. Have a look see what you think. Regards.
What a great find. When it comes to losing weight, I've seldom seen so much common sense in one place (apart from this thread of course). I may need to draw heavily on my reserves of willpower just to get myself off their forums though. I seem to have lost the last hour browsing them, and I've barely started.
Well done frogga for putting your 'fire' out (and an honourable mention to MrsM for volunteering to help to man the hoses):T
Edited to add hearty congratulations to redmel on the weight lossEek! Someone's stolen my signature! :eek:0 -
Hi everyone,
First day of the campaign for me. Cornflakes and banana for breakfast, 4 sesame ryvita with smoked salmon pate for lunch and a sandwich with egg for dinner. Not got time to cook because i'm about to go back to work to Clerk a meeting. That means I won't get a craving for choc though so it's all good.
I never want to eat chocolate during the day - just the evenings so I will be trying to keep busy.
Frogga, really well done on resisting the inner monster.

Good evening everyone...I've had a so-so day.
It was my penultimate day at work...to be honest I'm just a little fed up with things. I want to hibernate, or at the very least crawl under my covers. I guess I'm just a little unsure of things at the moment as my career plan is all over the place and I'm not sure where I'm heading. So....lets see, it all started off well.
Breakfast (at 6.30am) Slice of wholemeal toast with a little marmalade, no butter, a small cup of tea.
Snack (at 8.30am) A mini milky way (one of the kid size ones in a multipack)
Proper snack (10.30) Stewed apple
Snack (12 noon) A mini mars bar (same size as milky way)
Lunch (1pm) Five oven chips, 3 fish fingers, loads of sweetcorn and peas.
Snack (3pm) A mini twix
Dinner (7pm) Sandwich + cherry toms-grated mature cheddar on wholemeal
Snack (2 mins ago) A piece of honeycomb
Will try not to have anything else sugary today....if I'm peckish before I go to bed I have a little pot of currants.
As for lebkuchen don't get me started, I love them (especially the white iced ones). My mum is German and I love German Christmas goodies (apart from stollen as I'm not keen on marzipan). Will try to resist them when I next go to Lidl.Grocery budget in 2023 £2279.18/£2700Grocery budget in 2022 £2304.76/£2400Grocery budget in 2021 £2107.86/£2200Grocery budget in 2020 £2193.02/£2160Saving for Christmas 2023 #15 £ 90/ £3650 -
Evening all
Well done frogga.. bet you are feeling great now :T ..well you should be
Mousey.. glad it was nothing major...very scary al the same no doubt!!
Im carrying an extra person around with me.. too.... everytime i get a new doctor i get THAT look, and out comes the blood pressure cuff..you know the look where they just KNOW your blood pressure is gonna be sky high!!! and the look on their faces when i gives a perfectly healthy reading :rotfl: ..they usually do it twice.... my mum has LOW blood pressure..and i think that i am the same as mum..but my extra weight raises it to a "normal" level...if that makes sense
Leopardy..well done on resisting goodies whilst looking at wedding cakes:T .. you could put the loose change you might spend on that sort of stuff in a tin every time you resist..and then treat your self to say a nice facial, or one of those wrap things as a special pressie before your wedding. Might help encourage you.. if you know that you are saving for a treat..just for you!! I have developed an obsession with tins..i have tins for everything
My mum used to do wedding cakes..and is doing one again soon.. she made mine and it was huge and stunning...if i knew how i'd post a photo... i can't believe the prices the shops charge... ..and mums taste so nice...
Redmel...well done on a great weight loss :T ... i think most of us have..or have had that mind set... even at WW.. weigh day was always considered "treat day".. mine always used to be one of those frozen pots of lockwood mushy peas .a whole 1lb tub mind- with mint sauce.... i have finally cracked that habbit.. but it takes some doing ....
Snoozer... well done on getting through your first day....one day closer to target
Taplady..thats one heck of a weekend  ...good luck with weigh in on Wednesday
Toonie...christmas markets :j :j aren't they just the most wonderfull things...decorations, gleuwein, food, decorations, gleuwein, fod all the way round :rotfl: I adore them... the are just so full of atmosphere..
Well had dinner and boy was it yummy:D ...had 4 individual hm yorkies..liver casserole, cabbage, carrots, broccoli and nobbies... didn't do any potatoes..figured yokies were enough carbs...and i was right :T .. and have just had some tinned peaches ...got in a sticky mess(which is to be expected when eating them with my fingers)..but enjoyed em so i dont care:p
Well hubby is off golfing tomorrow instead of working (he gets paid anyway so heyho)and will be fed whilst he is there.. so i only have myself to sort out,, Having baked a new loaf of bread for his sandwiches-which he won't need tomorrow ...hmmm ..think i will slice it up and freeze in 2s as usual..leaving 2 out for brekkie for me ..with butter :j ... lunch will no doubt be crispbreads with low fat cream cheese and yoghurt..and dinner salmon and veggies..as hubby isn't keen on it and i love it :T .
Well hope everyone is ok and still feeling optimistic...
keep up the good work everyone-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50
