The queue was very long so we had to wait a while. I changed my mind 7 times in the queue as to wether I'd have some or not! It was the typical "oh go on have a treat you deserve it" argument against " NO don't , this will be the start, then you'll go home and pig". I really hate it when I'm so messed up with what choice to make because of those two voices. Does anyone else get that?

Yes, at least twice a week ... in the nearest cornershop...

Me: mmm. i'm hungry. giant packet of maltesers/cadbury's bar/cheese!
    Me2: No, I'll get fat.
Me: But i need to eat something!
    Me2: Buy fruit.
Me: But they're manky here and I can't be bothered, it's messy.
    Me2: buy a bread roll.
    Me: too dry.
Me2: okay, a small packet of maltesers! grr!
Me: but that won't fill me up! For only a little more I could have a huge packet!

Round and round and round... I used to just give in all the time and scoff lots of chocolate. :o The first time I really tried to NOT GIVE IN I worked myself up and nearly had a small breakdown in the middle of Tesco! I've gotten better now (I also live further away from sources of cheap'n'tasty chocolate). But the temptation to go wild is always there.

  • Afternoon folks :)

newlywed, one of my tenants bought a Lidl stollen cake the other day, they said it was very dry and not very nice so if it's any consolation, you did well to resist cos it wouldn't have really been worth it :P and er yeah... figs... in fig rolls count as fruit... think you'd have to eat about half a cartload to get in one of your five a day that way...:D

everyone else, this is a new week, don't get angst ridden over weekend snacking ( says she, who was angsting all over the place yesterday ;) )

thanks for the link to the NoS diet jinny - having a look now. A lot of it seems to be very sensible, the only thing I dont really agree with is no snacking, even " healthy " snacks... there' a difference between bingeing and healthy snacks. Little and often suits me and because of my working pattern I don't usually get time to have three square meals a day :) ( plus which, big platefuls of food intimidate me ) apart from that, its very down to earth and pretty much along the lines of what we are doing here anyway.

Yet again, manic work morning has meant still haven't bloody well eaten...thankfully I now have four whole days where I don't have to put up with that, yipee ! I really fancy a baguette, so am going to pick one up from the co op and fill it at home with cheese, tomatoes and cress, and have that with celery and radishes, washed down by orange juice. No idea what will have for dinner yet. Feeling pretty wiped out so will nap later this afternoon and get up around teatime and get stuck into some OS cleaning, so that will be my excercise for the day.

Have a good day, folks !

    Hi everyone

Just had a browse throught that site ..(thanks jinny).
A lot of it seems to be very similar to the way im eating now.. but the only thing i don't agree with is the "no Seconds rule"... which suggests that you can pile up one plate....but not have an average serving and have more if still hungry:confused: don't know about everyone else..but i think a lot of people with weight issues (me included).... have grown up "to eat what is on their plate"..and as a result i found it really hard to stop eating when there was still something on my plate!!! I have cracked that one by putting out much smaller portions.... and as yet i have always been satisfied with the servings..but if i was still hungry (and KNEW it was hunger ...not greed).. i wouldn't hesitate to have some more...
    anyway back to normal :D

Newlywed...congratulations on the extra bit lost :T and be gratefull you don't live here... you wouldn't believe how many kinds of lebkuchen you can get ;) ..glad i don't like it...phew.. now stollen mmmm  ... especially the rum one with marzipan through the middle.. but im ignoring them for now..and closer to xmas - i will make my own again:p ....all the xmas stuff is coming out here..most of it edible

Eumenidies... well done on making it through the weekend :T .... come on you can do it :D

Now come on folks... you missed out wine..all those grapes squished into a bottle..how many of your 5 a day would that be:rotfl:

rockie.... thats a good target...12lbs in 12 weeks...nice and even ... you know you can do it... get on with the sewing... im x stitching like a demon at the moment :T ... there's very little that you can eat whilst working on cream fabric...and NO folks.. i don't want any suggestions..thankyou:D .

well today i have had 2 weetabix for brekkie
lunch was some crispbreads with lowfat cream cheese... I am becoming an addict :p
    an apple
and dinner is HM liver casserole, yorkshire puds..(doing that instead of potatoes for a change)..cabbage, broccoli, nobbies...

Well we have now been here for 10 weeks -ish.. and in all that time the only "junk" i have had is 1 curly wurly and 1 bag of those mini jaffacakes - and that was in the first 2 weeks  .... and i have totally lost the taste for any of it :D .

Hi frogga:D , hope everything is still going well

Howdy doody to anyone i have missed....hope we are all starting this week feeling full of optimism and positive thoughts :T ... come on everyone..another week gone and another step closer to our targets:T

    have a good one :D

Hi kittyscarlett...nearly missed you...sneaking in whilst i was typing.....;)
Hope you have a great few days off

Agree with you on that site... i eat fruit or yogs if hungry between meals.. i think if you don't you just end up so hungry you plonk more on your plate come tea time...;)

Yeah I was looking for the ones with the white icing on (not sure if they usually have another name) but couldn't find them - they only had the chocolate heart ones with jammy middles - still yum though!! :D

My dad spent 6 months in Germany when he was young so whenever he's seen these kind of things he's bought them - not keen on all the brockwurst type things though personally ;)

As for resisting the stollen - well I knew I'd never stop at one slice (from experience)

And fig rolls by the half cartload - now I like the idea of that :D:D

    Hi all,

In case any of you were in doubt thought I'd let you know that I have seriously lost the plot!!!

Just had a boring day at work and am a bit fed up anyway so I had the thougtht on the way home in the car:
" Go on , you know you want to , go to Sainsburys and get some binge food"
I REALLY wanted to , so I parked and got a trolley and started making my way to the sweets when I stopped myself and thought :
    " No ! don't do it!
So I put the trolley back and went back out to the car, then I thought :
"No Sod it , go on , you deserve it"
So I went BACK inside and choose LOADS of stuff , Yummy yummy, and went almost to the checkout and had "the" argument with myself. You all know the one!
SO I went back out to the car and drove home ~ as soon as I pulled up the drive I heard her say
"go on , go back , get something for this evening, go on , stuff it , who cares go and treat youself"
So would you believe I got back in the car and nearly got to the shop when I turned around and came home again!!!

This KILLS me! I have been sobbing through sheer frustration! I really want to BINGE! and not stop. It's too late now I've got to get tadpole from school so I'm completely cheesed off as I've missed my chance! Fed up .

    Right Frogga...

Where is my PM???? if i weren't so worried about you i would be adding an angry face icon ;)
you know i expect a PM in those moments when you are at a loss...or any other time you feel like it..same goes to everyone else too...im not usually far away from th PC...;)

firstly...don't worry i have NEVER been in doubt about you having lost the plot :D ....
And you do realise you probably have folks at the supermarket thinking you are a nervous shop lifter :rotfl: ... come on .... see the lighter side honey.... you are strong enough to beat this...

Now on to serious me.... come on.. just think how much better you will hopefuly feel in the morning when you wake up without that awful feeling ...

I like to think of your binging as an animal (now who has lost the plot:p )... and you are doing a bloody fine job keeping him in his cage :T ... he will probably be with you for a long time-if not for ever - as you know ;) .. and some days he is gonna rattle on the cage door a lot louder - like today.. but you didn't let the little sod out.. you kept him in his place.. and i think that deserves a huge pat on the back..

I know its not what you wanted to hear ..as you "want a binge".. and i really don't know what to say about that mrs... but you PM me anytime... and rant and scream as much as you like...
    take care mrs frog:D

Well frogga, I don't have your energy but admire the to-ing and fro-ing that your binge-voice made you do.
My inner voice..."must have a nibble".... you know the voice.. automatic hand to the goodies.. automatic nibble and then automatic guilt!
Well it got a little confused when the automatic hand went to two prunes. Nibble satisfied. Inner voice now quiet. Guilt not so bad.
BUT WHAT ABOUT THE EXERCISE WHEN THE PRUNES GET TO WORK!

Portion control and curbing nibbles seems to have helped, relatively painless and have lost 2lb this week. So result.

    Hello,
I have finally managed to get up the courage to write on here, having been reading it everyday!
I weighed myself on saturday and was a little pleased, tinged with disappointment as i weighed less than i had thought but still a lot more than i wanted to!

anyway, here i am and here i go!
I am getting married in April so would love to lose some of the excess by then, but more importantly need to tone up, i am more wobbly than i want to be!
Also Hubby to be keeps suggesting it might be nice if i lose a little weight! (don't worry i am doing this for me not him, and keep telling him off for telling me off!) I love the moral support he does offer and this thread is fanatastic motivation and support!
So today i have had a bagel with marmite and a yoghurt for brekkie, then a little cheese and biscuits for lunch and will have pasta for tea.

I love cooking and am lucky to have time to cook most days and being broke has helped stop me buying snacks:T
Thanks for all your support so far!
    Leopardlady
Got married on the 26th April 08!!!!!!!:j:T
