Just thought of another excuse , I mean reason , that I dont do adventurous cooking~

Mr Frog eats real O/S food. You know meat and two veg type stuff and very plain old fashioned cooking, and both tadpoles are veggie and I'm vegan so I can't be bothered with being really adventurous and having to cook different meals.

When we have a Sunday roast Mr Frog has Chicken for example and we have nut cutlet, then all the other things like the veg and roast pots are the same. If Mr Frog has Shepherds pie we have a mixed bean pie so the only difference is the mince beef.

Mr Frog has never even tried pasta and wont eat any thing remotely "foreign" like a chineese takaway et.c .:rotfl:

I guess I'm just set in my ways and if I had a better relationship with foof I'd feel differently , but as I said before I'd rather not have to eat at all XXX

YAY I've lost 1.2kgs in the last 2 weeks! Ended up using the totals diet from Tesco, based I guess on the points system weightwatchers use - room for my naughty foods once in a while but easily followed :)

    Hope everyone is doing well?

Ohhh Ohhhhh people..please don't make me laugh - it hurts:eek:

What with folks slamming whole fridges in a sandwich...
Mr Frog..not eating anything foreign...sounds just like my mum.:p ...

    Pounds n pensive-

Your not on a slippery slope....we are all attatched to the same OS rope, so the most any of us will do is slip a little...and the rest will hold onto you until you get your footing again...and then it will be someone elses turn and you can hold us up.... it was only a little wibble..don't worry about it

I think you hit the nail on the head- i have had this discussion with my mum before.... when you realy fancy - say -a bag of crisps.... you think ..no i won't- i will have an apple, only that isn't what you want..so you end up having a yoghurt..nope that hasn't done it either..ok i will have a piece of toast.... and still that bag of crisps keeps shouting...and in the end we eat it:mad: ...so we would have consumed less if we had just had the 1 thing we wanted in the first place:o .... i think that is why i have finally decided that there is nothing that i can't have... if i want it enough i will have it.. but because i know i can have it..im not bothered about it...
Since getting here in July... I have had NO crisps, peanuts etc, and only 1 curly wurly and 1 small bag of mini jaffa cakes and that is it...and its not because im "being good" its just because im not fancying them..and im sure its all down to eating OS meals..so im not craving anything..

Frogga..... i will agree with you on Tofu eughhhhh what a gross ingredient...

Well we are having liver casserole for dinner (out of the freezer)-have decided to try and live out of the freezer for the next few weeks...to save me going shoping whilst my leg heals.... and to save as much of the housekeeping as i can :T ...
Its all stuff i have put in over the last few weeks...mind you i have 6 portions of shepherds pie to put in from lastnight :rotfl:

well i had better get off and get on the sofa :D .....

Hope everyone is ok and keep up the good work folks :T

  • Well done for your loss, tine, keep going :)

Frogga, thanks for your explanation around your food issues, I am sure it will help some others understand theirs or feel more confident about talking about them. I think sometimes about posting a few OS related comments about how any food issues I have may have come about - i.e. part of it due to pressure to eat certain things when I was younger because we couldn't afford to waste food and now I think I over compensate. I'm not sure if that should be a seperate thread or not, though, any suggestions ? As per herbs, I can understand that not everyone enjoys sage its quite a powerful flavour... maybe start off with something gentler - if you like onions then fresh chives snipped into or onto things give a lovely mild onion flavour and look very cheery with the fresh green !

Today I will once again be starting off with lemon and hot water. Dinner will be hm cheesey vegetable bake from the freezer ( must go and get it out in a minute ! ) Breakfast and lunch will have to be flexible/interchangeable due to nature of working day today, but will involve porridge somewhere along the line, and have cottage cheese, oat cakes, rice cakes, fruit and salad stuff for the other meal/snacks, plus miso paste/swiis marigold bouillon powder for savoury hot drinks.

MrsM, you just haven't had the " right " tofu... hehehe. Am not veggie now but was for many years, all I can say is there are manky tofu products and delicious ones ! I think I've said this before but I agree with you about the less sweet things ( oh and the BREAD ! ) that I eat, the less I crave.... tis very true :) Take it easy and help your leg heal up

My eating dissorder counseller told me to "plan" a binge. Perhaps once a month. Spend time in the shop choosin all the things you really want. Lay them out on the table and decied which one you want first. Then stuff as much as you like, and REALLY enjoy yourself. When it's over it's over. If you need to do it once a month.

I guess it must work for some people and I did try it. I just find that I can't stop. Usually a binge lasts weeks , and then the damage is really done and I can't get on it again. I just don't know what the answer is for me , but I think like an alcohlic I just have to stay off binging alltogether:confused: .

Anyway we are all differernt I guess. I have a really addictive personality. I do everything to extreams. Even at work , if we are moving lots of books around , I go hell for leather to get it done in a day when it could have taken all week. Why do I do that? If you think about the bread for school that's the same. Instead of making it just for tadpoles class I have to do it for the whole school!!

I'm mental , what more do I need to know?:rotfl:

Thankyou for that Kitty I need a reminder every now and again to stick to the point xx:rotfl: Nothing of what I said has anything to do with O/S . Well, you could say I've saved you all money on reading my threads and not paying for expensive therapists!!!:rotfl:

Well I found that good breakfast options for me are particularly natural yoghurt with dried fruit and half a chopped banana. This gives me calcium, natural sugars and slow release energy :) If I don't have a breakfast I find I get tired quite early in the day, so wouldn't try the detox lemon and hot water personally...
Also Ryvita with light, very low fat spreadable cheese and again a banana, but any fruit is good. If I have breakfast I also find myself less likely to snack.
Snacks are usually a little dried fruit, take what I am allowed and CLOSE the bag - that way I don't carry on snacking on the whole bag which tends to have ehhhh side effects ;)

Lunches are home made soups, fruit, ryvita or if I am out then healthy eating sarnies.

Dinner is well... whatever we fancy :) I just try to avoid fats, make sure I stop eating when I am actually no longer hungry rather than carry on till I feel full or even over full just because I'm enjoying the food...
Oh and I drink loads of water :) instead of buying a can of fizz I buy a bottle of water :)

well so much for not planning dinner last night. DH bought me chips to eat on the way to Brownies, but by the time I'd ran round and played games I'd worked them off.

Walked 1.5 miles to work this morning in 24 mins and have Aquatone tonight.

    Menu for today:

    breakfast - mini choc weetabix
    lunch - corned beef salad
Dinner - don't know will find out what DH has cooked when I get home.
Snacks for the day - apple, pear and 2 satsumas

Well that looks like 4 of my 5 a day :j

I have a weigh in tonight so will post results tomorrow.

    Thanks for the recipes Mrsmcawber.

Mushrooms though - yuk! Them and cucumber and apricots. Make me shudder, dunno why. I like most herbs and garlic.

Like the oaty sage chickeny thingy and will be keeping that one for another week ;):D

Thanks for the explanations frogga. Interesting to know your background and why you feel strongly about certain foods. ;)
