    Morning all......2.5lbs off -so thats 1st 6lb in 7 weeks:dance:

Right thats got that out of my system :p

Well i hope everyone gets up this morning full of determination and feeling optimistic.....:j

    Right 1st recipe :-
MOROCCAN FISH TAGINE - SERVES 4
    per portion
    203 kcal
    3.34g fat
    0.29g sat fat
    80.5mg chol
    2.48g fibre

    2 garlic cloves, crushed
    2tbsp ground cumin
    2tbsp paprika
    1 small red chilli (optional)
    2tbsp tomato puree
    4tbsp lemon juice
4 pieces white fish (about 6oz each)
    12oz tomatoes sliced
2 peppers, seeded and thinly sliced
    seasoning
    1. mix together the first 6 ingredients.
    2. spread this mix over the fish and chill for about 30 mins to let the flavours develope
    3. preheat the oven to - 200c / 400f / gas6
    4. Arrange half the tomatoes n peppers in a baking dish
    5. cover with the fish -in a single layer, then arrange the remaining tomatoes n peppers on the top.
    6. cover the baking dish with foil and bake for about 45 mins, until the fish is tender
You can prepare this in advance and store in the fridge until you get in from work;)
Thought that might give the dull old white fish a bit of oomph for a bit of a change.

Morning Frogga - 3 days and counting...keep up the good work :T

Guapa1..... with how little you ate yesterday, i wouldn't get upset about the port...i doubt you have done any harm... so come on - another day is here again..(lovvvvve port by the way.... always makes me feel christmassy)

Dazi - you are another on who seems to have eaten very little yesterday.. i must be a greedy moo :p ....
We all have different things that "push our eating buttons".... going back to work and family stress sounds like a pretty legitimate reason for you not feeling in the right frame of mind right now.. so don't beat yourself up... keep on posting....go on you know you want to ;) ,

    Nodwah

I reckon that recipe will be nicer with chorizo too, has a much better and stronger flavour than salami..means you need to use less too;) , and you could always leave out the olive oil-the oil from the chorizo should give it enough flavour.....
Reckon that if you roasted it in the oven - without the chicken/quorn.... it would mage a nice topping for HM pizza.... i use low fat cream cheese(the cheap ones ar fine;) ) on the base instead of tom purree.... gives you loads of flavour, and you need hardly any cheese on top as it has loads of flavour - plus you can get all the different flavoured ones:T ...

    recoveringspendaholic -

I adore liver....mine has to be beast/ox liver though.. i know its the cheapest that a lot of people don't rate ...but its the only one for me :D .. have had calves liver out once...really didn't rate it... glad too as it works out more expensive than fillet steak:eek:
I cut mine into chunks, throw it in a big casserole pan (raw) with chunks of carrot and loads of onions and shove it in the oven... once the liver has browned... i add a bit of stock, thicken with gravy granules... and pop it back into the oven for a little bit longer.... it freezes well as the liquid protects it..and you allready have 2 veggies in there - great if you are looking to grab something quick after work etc....

    Kittyscarlett -
glad you are feeling better :T - if there was a speed challenge on eating jaffa cakes... i would be a good bet :rotfl: mind you i love the bags of little ones from LIDL.... they are much more tangy than the proper ones....

Well i had better get off - can rattle can't i :p .. bet loads of you have posted whilst i have been typing :o ...

hello to anyone i have missed....
Hope everyone has a great day...come on folks - we are getting there:T

    Morning guys,

Feelng pretty good today (partly because its nearly the weekend) but also because I managed to resist temptation in work yesterday after teabreak was accompanied by biscuits and profiteroles!!!

Anyway, same old soup and breakfast (may be boring but it keeps me away from the sandwich shop at lunchtime). Might have a carefully chosen takeaway tonight. Things like chop suey chicken aren't too bad if I have had a small lunch. If I have the chop suey, I boil my own brown rice to keep me full longer.
  • Dazi/kayjay/Guapa - its ok, you all had tough days - it does happen, and you are NOT failures, at ALL. You have to try and keep in mind that this isn't dieting as such, this is a slow and hopefully permanent alteration to how we think about and eat food, and keeping active. No one is going to point the finger because you had one carrot stick too many. None of us are or want to be supermodels, its about healthier minds, lives and bodies, not being skinny minnies. Think of this as being the lifestyle equivalent of a slowcooker - all the ingredients are in there, it simmers away for an almost interminable time whilst you sniff the air hungry for the result - but there's no use keep lifting the lid up to see if its done, it'll come in its own sweet time :D

I would also agree with Mrs M ( well done on the weight loss by the way ! ) Dazi, you sound as though you were actually eating too little there - sounds like you may need some ( healthy ) carbs to balance up the other stuff. Guapa, don't worry about what you ate - I'm a lifelong breadaholic and I have had many days that looked like that... funnily enough now I am eating less bread I am craving it less. Don't give up, please !

I have to confess I really don't have a plan for today. I have another very iffy/hectic work morning ahead of me, I am hoping I get time to eat some kind of breakfast but its not guaranteed ! then just before I am due to go off duty, have to dash off to a meeting the other side of town - they are providing lunch apparently, although what of I have no idea ( /me keeps fingers crossed no yukky tuna sarnies x_x ) I do have a vague plan for making quorn casserole with the rest of the crimini mushrooms and some veggies this evening, back up plan is micro'd jacket spud and baked beans if I'm too tired.

Have a good day everyone, see you later :)

Morning all! work for me today, will be having lunch and dinner there but the menu is ok for today and as I'm cooking it I know what is going into it!:D

Breakfast was 2 x small wholmeal toasts with low sugar marmalade and butter:o - I'm not giving that up!:D

    snack 1 x banana

lunch - HM soup of some sort and slice wholemeal toast

    snack - yoghurt or grapes

dinner - fresh cod, new pots and veggies - may turn it into a fish pie - see how adventurous I'm feeling later!:D

low cal hot choc with a couple of rich tea biscuits at bedtime.

this is the plan:rolleyes: providing nobody sabotages it like yesterday by bringing choccie into work!

Have a good day all, am loving this thread so far!:T
    Do what you love :happyhear
  • Good MOrning all -- meanmarie, mplease don't beat yourself up - I struggle each day cause I am stuck at home with my bad foot. I have had 1 1/2 large packets of sensations crisps this week, and a fair bit of chocolate.

I was good at the films last night (went to see Atonement) and bought some pistachio nuts instead of popcorn - they are so fiddly + noisy to get at that you can't eat many at a film!

We jsut have to keep on trying.
