  • Hi Everyone,

RS - sorry to hear what a horrible day you had. My sis was taken in twice since Oct in similar circumstances. Hope you're feeling better in all ways as the day goes on. ;)

Well done to Russetred, MrsMc, Juliej and any others that have lost this week. :T :T :T

I've got my weigh in tomorrow so I'm hoping to have shifted at least the 1/4lb I needed to get my outhouse cleared out by the lads. :D

Looking back on my food diary this week I can see that I've eaten more 'stodgy' type foods and snacks. I was eating lots of fruit last week, as we had tons of satsumas in over the hols. That being the case, hope I haven't put on. NO! That just can't happen. Not allowed. :naughty:

MrsMc - Looks like you're into a bit of market gardening this year. ;)
I love this time of year, so exciting with all the seeds about. I'm waiting for Nettos to fetch out their 19p seeds range next week. (its usually mid Jan). Just need to fill a few holes.

Grew rocket for the first time last year and it grew like a weed. I loved it, so that's on the list, but want to grow spinach for salad and hot meals.

Anyone know if spinach need lots of room? I'm restricted mainly to pots but have one area I can grow in if they don't mind shade.

Oh yes, my slow cooker came yesterday, want to cook a whole chicken if I can (reduced from £6.95 to £4.65!), or would I be better to joint it??? Any suggestions gratefully received.

I sling it straight in.. no water or anything.. breast side down to preserve meat juices and try to stop it being so dry.

It is in 4-5 hours.. depending on when I manage to get th rest of the meal prepared.

Sometimes.. I joint it and sling a tin of chicken soup in.. or veg if I have no chicken.. or sometimes a chicken tonight jar.. if they have been on offer! and serve with rice

I eat spinach and salad but not much at this time of year. Only eat broccoli coz OH loves it and I know it's good for you ;)

Cheers frogga - bit of a dumb week and didn't think of seed bread!!! :D Is it any seeds or is sesame the highest?

Every other place I've asked they've said tins of fish with bones in - yuk (like the fish but not the bones) or dried apricots - yuk yuk yuk!!

Will be getting some more dried figs as they are quite ok really. I eat more beans and lentils than ever before in my life but as I don't like soya produces (other than soy sauce) I don't think I'm getting enough calcium. And I've not had much milk products since I was little so might be a little late in my 30's to worry about osteoperosis etc

Will search for other dark green veg ;)

Well done to Mr Taplady -or should that be -Tapgent:rotfl: .... thats a great start... my hubby is losing weight -as he eats what i give him, and to be honest he would happily live on salads (in fact we are at the moment) -he loves em :T

I think the reason men do so well is partly down to the fact that we ladies (well in this house anyway) do most of the shopping and cooking -in fact in this house, make that ALL of the shopping and cooking :p - im sure if i had someone preparing all our meals for us-we might find it easier..
My hubby doesn't think about food -he eats what is put in front of him and then he is generally done. Im usually either thinking about -what to buy, what to do with it, have we got? do we need? what needs to come out of the freezer etc ;)

thanks MRSM - I think you're right about men, MY DH just eats him breakfast, lunchbox and whatever I give him for dinner and thats it - no snacking or nibbles at all! I just couldn't do that:rolleyes:

Well done MRSM and everyone else who has lost!:T

I have spent half the morning waiting to see the doc for a chat about my IBS and my smear results - still waiting so popped home for a coffee!;)

    going back soon!

    Plans for today are

    B - porridge and 1 ryvita

    S - 1 small slice wholemeal toast

L - possible quorn cottage pie or something on toast

D - veggie pizza and salad with HM spicy wedges

S - some type of fruit

Have a great day all., back later x
