Thanks frogga!! ;) Dunno why in all the years of dairy free/low dairy diet I never thought to ask a vegan - I'm just slow I guess!!! ;)

A vegan website (someone on the vegan thread helpfully pointed me to) says blacktrap molasses.... just found a reason to make molasses flapjacks - yum! - This recipe has seeds in too:

But will have to try and ration it for weight reasons

Hey Guys.....Well Done/ Good Luck on the weigh-ins this week. I'm just using my clothes as a guide so won't be joining in the numbers game I'm afraid:o But I did grab the wrong 'over-shoulder-boulder-holder' from my drawer yesterday, & I'm pleased to say it fitted!!!Might have been on the last hook n bar----but still:p

Anyone see Dispatches last night, on Ch4? Made for really interesting viewing.....in a nutshell for those who missed it, 3 families were given a type of 'diet' to follow for a month. 1--premium range & "healthier" ready meals; 2--budget range; 3--cook from scratch with supermarket goods as opposed to farm shop.

Surprisingly, there was more FAT in 1; more SALT in 2 & equal salt in 1&3.I did think that it wasn't entirely fair that family 3 included children under 5, cuz the programme said their highish fat content was due to having full fat milk----as per the latest WHO recommendations:confused: last time I looked.

Suppose that's what we are up against isn't it......too many "experts" with contradictory advice as to what exactly is healthy food

Sorry......getting a bit deep for this time on a Friday morning:o I'll close the door on my way out shall I:D

    Hi folk

Have just done my first weigh in and have lost 2lb - :j can't believe it as I have been polishing off the last of the Xmas treats but in saying that I have been doing it moderation - one or two a day instead of eating the whole lost in one go as I would normally have done. |What I have been doing is faollowing advice on here and having a little of what I want when I want it and then portion control. It seems to be working so far and I certainly don't feel deprived on on a 'diet' so we shall how long it continues.

MRSM I like the idea of losing the 7lb for 14th Feb idea but can't believe its only 4 weeks away  I may join you on that challenge if I may as that would be me nicely on target of my stone for Easter.

Someone mentioned a "wartime rations" thread which i would be interested in reading if someone could point me in the right direction.

Congratulations to all who have lost and hope the rest of you have a good day. Good luck on your weigh in if you are doing that today.
