It doesn't feel as 'bad' as a takeaway one because its not greasy but its very tasty and it actually came off the back of a sharwoods jar so I tweaked it a little
Singapore chow mein
2 squares of fine egg noodles (Sharwoods ones used to come with 4 squares in a pack)
2 tbsp olive oil
1 clove garlic
1 chicken breast
1 red pepper
1 tbsp Madras curry paste
200g beansprouts
100g prawns
2 tbsp light soy sauce
4 spring onions
*You can use vegetable oil instead, this recipe had olive as it was allowed as a healthy extra on slimming world
-Heat the oil in a large heavy based pan and fry the sliced chicken until lightly browned
-Add the garlic and stir fry for 1 minute then add the curry paste and fry for another 1-2 mins
-Add the soy sauce and spring onions, peppers and prawns
-Cover the noodles with boiling water and leave to sit until cooked through then drain and add to the spicy mix with the beansprouts
-Toss around until everything is covered
This recipe works really well with pork or just veggies, OH uses more peppers of varying colours and less meatWhen you read my posts, think Barry from Auf weidersehen pet...I sound just like him:rotfl:

Hello, I haven't completely fell off, just been busy.
I've been sticking to having breakfast and only missed one day since I said I would have breakfast. Healthy sugar free museli with a dash of milk (I don't really like milk but make the effort) I have been having lunch most days but not all. I have also reduced portion sizes, I shared the lunch I would have normally eaten myself with my Mam today so quite a difference there.
Hope everyones still doing well. I haven't weighed myself because I keep forgetting to buy batteries for the scalesOh and my partner is investing in a cross trainer to use in the garage instead of paying gym fees so I'll be using that once he decides on one!
One day I might be more organised...........

Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb0 -
Morning ladies
I didn't get to pop back on last night as hubby was on the PC
Anyway 2lb lighter this week :j which is quite a shocker as i have been sat on my behind nearly all week:rolleyes: .
So today im re-doubling my efforts... need to make sure i don't start slipping -as i know im prone to doing this. So im going to set myself a mini target of losing 7lb by valentines day -which gives me 4 weeks.
Hubby and i had a chat last night and have decided to give ourselves until the end of the year to "be expecting" and then we are going to look into fostering/adoption -although i think fostering is the way we will go.... So folks i need you lovely lot to keep me focussed on shifting this "wobble"
Russetred :- WELL DONE :T on the weight loss..
M.E - don't get upset about that lb - you will get it off again in no time..hope you are feeling better soon
Beemuzed- just think, you will never actually reach "obese" not now you are on here... and im sure you will get that cholesterol down in no time..
Well done to Mr Taplady -or should that be -Tapgent:rotfl: .... thats a great start... my hubby is losing weight -as he eats what i give him, and to be honest he would happily live on salads (in fact we are at the moment) -he loves em :T
I think the reason men do so well is partly down to the fact that we ladies (well in this house anyway) do most of the shopping and cooking -in fact in this house, make that ALL of the shopping and cooking- im sure if i had someone preparing all our meals for us-we might find it easier..
My hubby doesn't think about food -he eats what is put in front of him and then he is generally done. Im usually either thinking about -what to buy, what to do with it, have we got? do we need? what needs to come out of the freezer etc
Well done Chloebelle..... so glad that you liked what you made... isn't it amazing how much more satisfying it is than "birdseye" and i know what you mean about not feeling sluggish and sleepy when you have eaten...
Can't wait to see what your next meal will be
Morning frogga -hope all is well:D
Well we went to that store advertising seeds... and i did get my 10 packs of seeds for €1.50 :j ....I got:-
2 different cumbers
2 diffrent carrots
2 lots of beetroot-i know frogga -its yucky
celeriac
horseraddish
2 kinds of raddish
and then the bean and pea seeds were 6 packs for €2.50 and i got:-
2 kinds of pea
a runner bean
a french bean
yellow beans and borloti beans :j
I think added to the load of seeds i allready have...i just need to get more spring onions and then i should be done:D
On top of that instead of the coldframe at €50 they had -well the best description is to imagine a ridge tent-then cut the sides down to make it lower. Basically like a coldframe/cloche... metal framed with really thick cover that has windows to let the light in, they lift up to reveal fine net, and they lift up to let you have access to the plants...
They are 6ft x 4 ft and 2.5ft high... and they were €18.95 -so i had 2 of them instead...
Note to self though -don't build 1 in the house again :rotfl: well im a bit impatient...so they are going to give me loads of protected growing space to start everything off :j
well i had better get off as im going to have a walk to the supermarket -mainly for the exercise.. and come back via the garden centre.. need peat pots etc then this weekend i can get sorted
Well folks -keep up the good work and have a lovely day...
will probably be back in a mo .... as i bet loads of you have posted whilst i have been rattling-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
Morning All
Just a quick post as I haven't managed to catch up with all the thread yet. I've lost 1 lb this week but to be honest I'm struggling. Before Christmas I'd got myself out of the habit/cravings of eating biscuits/chocolates and was just snacking on fruit, etc. After Christmas though and eating loads of crap, I'm now back to craving more of the stuff!
Congrats to Mr Tappy - that's as far back as I've got so far.
Hope everyone's well - I will try and catch up and keep up with you all.

L: Three bean and tomato soup, WW yoghurt, flapjack, orangeno idea
Have a lovely day and weekend, you all x

Hello everyone - I haven't posted for the last week because I have been really bad eating-wise, culminating in a trip to A&E last night with the most horrendous stomach pains - I was in total agony, after eating a huge tea of hm turkey stew followed by hm pumpkin pie with double cream (I'm talking gargantuan portions too - plus earlier in the day I had eaten all kinds of carp from McDonalds, plus a load of chocolate and Costa coffee with an almond bake). Anyway about an hour after tea my stomach all swelled up and the pain started. I rang NHS direct and they sent a doctor who sent me to A&E, where they said I had colic and possibly gallstones. They put me on a drip and that sorted the pain out and at about 4.30 this morning they said my bloods were all normal so it was most likely only colic and I could go home, but to make an appointment with my GP to get tests done in case I have got gallstones. Talk about embarassed:o
. So now this morning I am back on the wagon with fierce determination to stick to a healthy eating plan. Today I will have to eat really lightly as my stomach is still really sore and I have the most horrendous wind so I am just having a cup of peppermint herbal tea for breakfast, a slice of dry toast with a poached egg white for lunch, followed by an apple if I feel okay, and for tea I am going to go out and get some white fish, which I will steam, and have some sugar free jelly for pudding.
Well done Mrs M - you have lost every week, even over Christmas - that is truly amazing.
hello to all the other regulars and all the newbies - off to read all the posts from the last week now.Jane

Hi guys,
Just a very quickie to say well done MrsM and Never mind RS. Been there and done that matey, you all know about my trip to A and E!
i had to have my stomach pumped!!!:o Just a word of warning, I had terrible pains for a good cople of weeks. I was only allowed to eat a milk shake type drink for 10 days as I had split the lining of my stomach and it needed to repair itself. I also had a VERY NASTY taste/smell in my mouth for weeks!!! Smelt like poo
Will post later when I have time xxxxxSay it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D

Morning all.
Well done to all the losers. Keep on going to everyone else
Breakfast today was porridge with dried figs - asked a calcium question on the vegan thread and am determined to try and do extra bits to increase calcium intake (without increasing milk products) this year as I am certain I don't get even half the recommended intake!
Gonna get sesame seeds later for more calcium... and more apples of OH as he's eaten 7 in 2 days and 2 bananas and a pear  But it's tipping down so not sure if I'll walk or notworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
:eek:AAAAAARRRRGHHH!!!!
I have decided to weigh myself on Fridays now...and this week I weigh in 2 pounds heavier than Monday!
Oh well, I will have to try harder! I think I am catching up after being ill over Christmas and not putting on weight then.
I did well last night (I think!).
Off to my chiropractor now, will stop off at Lidl on the way home to get bread flour so I can start up the bread maker again. Thought I had loads of flour, but not so much, so need stocking up...must do a full inventory of the cupboards!
Oh yes, my slow cooker came yesterday, want to cook a whole chicken if I can (reduced from £6.95 to £4.65!), or would I be better to joint it??? Any suggestions gratefully received.
PS Hello everyone, must dash
