Thanks for the enocragement Mrs M and Frogga x
Well I have to say I am so chuffed with myself! I went to shops and decided to start simple - chicken breast with a simple marinade plus asparagus and broccoli.
Prepared everything fine, marinade was fab and it cooked like a dream!! Had a lovely healthy lunch. And discovered 2 great things. Firstly, the meal was so substantial I couldn't believe it I thought I would have to do pasta or something with it but it was fine. Secondly was how good I felt for the rest of the afternoon. Normally when I am at home my working day seems to end at lunchtime! I always feel so bloated and stuffed after my usual lunch, I can barely do anything for a few hours after. Today I ate, relaxed for about 20 mins and was up again cleaning and doing the laundry!!
About an hour after eating I thought, I have all this broccoli and asparagus left. What shall I do with it? Feeling really brave, I looked up on the net for a broccoli soup recipe. Along with my leftover broccoli and asparagus I found half a bag of shallots, 5 new potatoes nearly at their expiry date and some cold green beans in the fridge. It all went in the pot with some veggie stock & herbs and simmered for an hour before being blended.
Nervously I tasted it half hour ago and it is lovely! That is now my dinner!!
I am so pleased to have done so well on my first attempt at proper cooking. Even better, the food was so good I think losing weight is going to be easier than I thought!! Total debt £21,000 :eek:Weight loss to date - 2 st, 2lb:j0 -

I've noticed that gents seem to be able to loose it quicker than Ladies. Don't know if it's biological or just because they are more committed and competative? I have noticed that Mr Frog has put on weight since starting on the HGV's. He is 6 ft and was 12 1/2 st and is now 13 1/2. I think he can carry it off thouugh and I think it makes us look more in proportion as a couple! :rotfl:Say it once, say it loud ~ I'm an Atheist, Anti-Royalist, Socialist, Tea-Total Veggie Frog and PROUD!:D

Well done Chloebelle - first of many successes I'm sure.
And Mr Tappy, too. :T What a great start.
I'm thinking maybe I could suggest to Mr cheerful that he have a go. He says his weight has been constant for a couple of years, which it has, but at 16.5 st. He's 6'1 so could shake a few pounds off I think. Mind, he can be competitive. Not sure I want him showing me up.
Oh and thought I'd add my pen'oth in the sugar candy vote... Clive Owen. Loved him in Gosforth Park. :rolleyes:MAY GROCERY CHALLENGE £0/ £250
