Hello all,
Meant to be in bed by now but like to check up on all you youngsters before I settle down for the night.
Frogga...congratulations on your lovely children.
MrsMC...lovely xstitch designs, don't think that the old eyes would be up to that level of detail...I have spent much of to-day ( when not on MSE) knitting a pink dress for DGD1's dolly, who throws herself naked all over my house (dolly lives here). The dress was promised weeks ago and I am constantly reminded that I haven't knitted it yet, so it is now almost done and hopefully will stay on better than her other clothes did...no newbies I am not sane, never was but think I'm getting worse!.
I did manage to make a pot of bean and veg soup to-day...have had two bowls now, so have the others so will have to make more soup to-morrow as there is only about a bowlful left! Made bread to-day too, but forgot about it so it was proving for four or five hours...about to go into oven in a few minutes...made rolls so that it will cook quickly, am already over my curfew time!
'Night all,

meanmarie - do you mean hard on myself while breastfeeding because I am trying to lose weight whilst bf ? Thanks for being concerned, its really nice of you
I dunno really. I think I am eating enough, I'm having snacks between meals to keep blood sugar up and to let milk production continue, but I shouldn't be 3 stone overweight, I dread people asking me when its due, or similar, and am still wearing maternity tops. The baby is 4 months old and I am not stopping breastfeeding and I can't go on feeling this heavy, it really brings m down to look so out of shape etc.
Today was pretty good:
B: cornflakes
S: 3 satsumas
L: soup, salad, oatcakes
S: shortbreadsweet and sour veg stir fry and noodles
S: that last piece of shortbread (still got about 5 packets from that blessed hamper, but crucially, none of them are open yet so I am keeping them to give as presents so will resist).
Much better day mood wise owing to better nights sleep and no rain. Went to the gym and walked to school twice so have had a lovely active dayJan GC: £202.65/£450 (as of 4-1-12)

Just popping in before bed time. I'm still stuffed from the chinesse earlier. We ordered a few different dishes then had a bit of everything each. The only one I really pigged out on was the crispy seaweed which I love. So all in all not too bad!
MrsM - You have very good taste in men. Gerard Butler is my favourite eye candy at the minute (plus hes scottish  ) Bit of a debate going on on another board I read about who would play Jamie in Diana Gabaldons Outlander series (don't know if anyones read them but they're amazing) if it was made into a film and he seems to be everyones top choice.
Frogga - Think I've said this before but your kids restore my faith that the next generation won't all be iggnorant chavs!
Off to curl up in bed with my book now. G'night all.I'm through accepting limits'Cuz someone says they're soSome things I cannot changeBut till I try, I'll never know!0 -

Morning All......it's just occured to me that this thread is rather like looking in other people's trolleys in the check-out queue.....you wonder why you never saw 'that' while you were wandering round the shelves:p
Can't stay long today cuz I've to take BIL for his hospital app & my time-keeping always leaves a lot to be desired:o BUT
how do you prepare a fresh mango please? Each time I've attempted it, & tried to do it the way they show on telly, I've ended up with a stringy pulp & juice running up me arm:eek:

Morning all!
HAve been lurking the past day or two, not intentionally. By the time I would get to the end of reading all the new posts, I have had to go and do something else and had no time to post myself! So today I am starting early!
Not been too good food-wise this week, I keep nibbling on the HM flapjacks! Must stop, must stop, must stop, must stop.:D
Perhaps I will get some chewing gum (sugarless of course) to see if that works. I seem to be making up for the fact I was ill over the holidays and didn't put on weight then...so I will stop nibbling on the wrong things...NOW!
I have made a decision re my weigh-in. I have always weighed on Mondays (even when I did WW and RC they were on Mondays), but I have decided to change to Fridays. It was someone on this thread earlier who said she was doing this...to give inspiration for the weekend, or allow the week to recover from a bad one! Also, we tend to have a roast dinner (tea?) on Sunday night, and then I spend the evening ironing, and not much (if any!) exercise then.
So I will weigh in tomorrow morning, and perhaps get DH to measure me first thing before he goes off to work...what a challenge!
I have college tonight and am giving a 5 minute microteach...a planned 5 minute lesson to the rest of my class (12 of them). We are all doing it and we are all dreading it...trying to fit everything in in 5 mins is really hard (intro, demo, Q&A, recap...honest!).
I am getting everyone to sow three broad bean seeds in loo rolls...now don't laugh! I know the beans should be sown outside, but I regularly sown some in pots or loo rolls at this time of year as I have usually missed the autumn sowing due to laziness/being too busy, or rather the beds still having other stuff growing in them at the time! I am sowing Aquadulce Claudia, a good bean that can be sown outdoors from November to March...and cheap to buy loose. I still have some from last year, so that isn't costing me anything...sorry, this is the weight loss thread, and not the GC one! I have a few loo rolls, but I also have inner tubes from Christmas wrapping paper, so I have to cut them up this morning. Was going to buy new compost, but have just remembered there is a bag of John Innes No 2 out the front...yippee...must go and get started with it all.
Food today:
Breakfast: Special K and some dried fruit, soya milk + OJ
Break: Satsuma
Lunch: HM Soup and bread
Break: Fruit
Tea: Egg sandwich, salad, sugar-free jelly with fruit (eat in car, in college car-park, as college is 6 to 8:30 tonight)
Have a good day

I've woken up ravenous again this morning.. must be the cold weather.
Fresh mangoes.. I cut a line top to bottom all the way round.. twist both halves in opposite directions and usually it twists one half off the stone inside.. works for peaches too.. and nectarines.. But I don't prepare them often as I think they taste like soap and have the texture of raw meat!.. yukky!!!
Breakfast.. I'll hunt out something in a mo..
lunch... I'll find a 'freezer surprise'
Dinner tonight, is savoury mmince and mash.. potatoes in the fridge after I peeled them last night to save effort today.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Morning all.
Ache today - probably from sortin out that delivery
Feel a bit left out of the x-stitch conversations as I don't have time to do it any more - got married and inherited 2 kids
I do beading now instead - bead weaving etc.
But just for Mrs M - here's one that I did some years back and is framed and still on my wall at home (mum and dad's). Must find somewhere for it to go in my flat....
http://www.colray-crafts.com/DimensionWebE/newhtm/big.php?ProductID=2987
It took ages as it has x-stitch, couching, beads etc on it.
Also did the New Stitches 5 victorian ladies from their early issues - that's in mum and dad's front roomworking on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0
