  • MrsM - That cross stitch you bought your mum is gorgeous. Did I read that right- a metre long? No wonder its taking her a while to do.

Done pretty well with the eating again today. First day this week that I've not had any cake.
Mum came this afternoon with a HUGE bar of fruit and nut to split and when I said I wouldn't have any thanks very much, she sat and ate it in front of me.  The lot! I'm not saying she's a noisy eater but I'm not convinced it was necessary to smack her lips as much as she did.
She pulled out rolos afterwards. The womans a walking sweet shop. :(

When I turned down those too she started to get suspicious and asked if I was dieting..... She looked physically wounded when she found out I was 'just cutting down a little' and I hadn't asked her to join in. <sigh> Says she's joining me this week, just going to finish the chocs in house first.
Oh pooh! Now she'll be phoning every day telling me I'm not allowed this and that.
This is gonna so mess with my head and I was so content bobbing along on my own. :(

and £60!! I have split it with Robbie and we are going into town on Saturday to spend it "Tadpole 1" x

Frogga - not just the sweetest son but the sweetest children. That is so cute. :D

The nearest my children have come to such generosity is that DS1 gives his brother a monthly allowance since he started work, and DS2 buys his Haribo on BOGOF and puts the spare packet in DS1's bed so that he gets a suprise when he goes to sleep. :)

    Hi slimmers!

Sorry I didn't have time to read your thread, will do tomorrow, have been very busy.

This morning I went for my weekly SW weigh-in and I have LOST 3 1/2 lbs! Good, but no cigar, I am still 14 st, was aiming for 4 lbs, but heck, it is still a good loss so I am delighted!

Then I went with a dear friend to the It Pays To Watch show with Martin and I was filmed in the audience, wow, scary to watch myself back at 7:30 (if you have watched it, I am the fat one with a silly smile, all dressed in brown!).

    My day:

Breakfast: grapes (at 11 am after the weigh-in!)

Lunch: chick pea, veg and pasta soup, 1 oz cheddar, 1 pear

Dinner: More chickpea soup, 2 veg sausages (Cauldron), mix steamed veg with 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp ketchup, 1 slice rye bread, 1 cup soya yoghurt with 2 tbsps HM quince and grapefruit 'Jamalade'

Good nigth all, feeling good, hope you are all well, catch up properly tomorrow!

    Love

    Caterina
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

    Oh Heck cheerfulness

I know what you are up against .. i was home for 2 weeks over xmas.. but trying to get through to my mum that there was nothing that "i couldn't have" if i wanted it  ...
Bless her, at least in her case she was trying to provide alternative.. like the M&S low fat xmas pudding £5  it was lovely well the 1/4 i had was..but i would have been just as happy with "normal" stuff.

You will have to grit your teeth and keep popping on here..failing that -plonk your mum in front of the PC and she will see what we are all doing on here ;)
mind you then you won't have any sanctuary when things get tough. Im sure you will be just fine.... you are doing so well allready...we won't let anyone upset things ;)

Yep that x stitch is huge..all that designers kits are sewn in single strand too  but mum doesn't like to see it - so she went out and matched up the threads -and bought them -i think there are about 70 colours in it...as if the kit wasn't expensive enough (we didn't know at the time that she did single strand-or we wouldn't have got it)
But she will have loads of threads left and she is stitching it twice -one for her and 1 for one brother  -so im pinching the chart, but instead of doing the whole pic (don't like having the same as everyone else:p ) im going to break it down into seperate pictures ;)

I have got quite a bit done today.. but its gonna be a long process me thinks and i want to try and get 1 finished for my hubby -its a pencil drawing of a hawk on a gloved hand...so its all shades of grey  has 12 pages of chart and its 15" x 30" so im not sure if i will get it done in time for xmas
will try and post a pic of the design tomorrow
    how is yours coming along?

  • The thing that has worked the best for me is that I eat my favourite thing on the plate first and then listen to my body so that I stop when Im full.

Before I used to stuff myself so that I didn't leave the best bit.

I haven't changed a lot else and am not very good at cooking, but just this small change has meant I have lost 2 and a half stone since last January. Still got a lot to go hence Im on here looking for tips and to offer support to others.

    You can do it!:T

    Well done Caterina!!! :)

Sorry this is only a quick stop and I haven't had a chance to cach up!

Been to Town with Mam today....
Had a latte (regular instead of large!!) with a piece of chocolate traybake for breakfast.
Lunch was jacket potatoe with cheese, beans and salad.
Tea was pasta bolognese with angel delight after.

Not so bad for a day out - and I had the long walk for my bus as well as the traipsing around with heavy bags all day! :)
    Dream of being mortgage free....
