MrsMcawber thank you. I suffer from endometriosis and I have found that when I eat light when I'm on, it helps ease the pain somewhat. I just haven't been able to control the PMT craving yet, but I'm working on it.

Well Done Taplady! Glad you've reached a milestone.

Seriously, I'm better today and not feeling so bad about myself thanks to everyone.
Had meusli again for brekkie, half fat cheese salad for lunch (not even any mayo) when I got home I only had a cuppa and no biccies - I actually recognised that I didn't want one IYKWIM. Then I went to ikea and had tea there with the kids and I didn't nick any of their chips, also expended a lot of energy getting flatpack boxes into the car without DH to help me.

have to admit I'm a bit hungry now - any advice on bedtime snacks? I do like a bit of hot milk and honey

Great idea Mrsmcawber that sounds yummy and not too heavy. Might even get into the back of the cupboard and haul out my ice-cream maker and do a frozen yoghurt to go with it.

I'm in Leek, have been here for just over 18months before that - 1 year in Newcastle u Lyme and 1 year in S-O-T, think we've finally stopped moving about, mind you, before I met OH and moved up here I had already moved 5 times in 3 years

Zenobia - Another one is, you should always break your food into pieces before eating it, cos then all the calories fall out:rotfl:

    Morning everyone:wave:

Well, another day and here we go again :D

Stumbled out of bed this morning, went to put a pair of trousers on - pulled em on - without undoing em and have a good 2-3" spare on the waist :j .. they are all new clothes...got them for my jolly in june..hardly had any wear, i might have to take them back with me when i go home to the UK next time, and ask my mum to alter them... she is a whizz on a sewing machine... she even made my bridesmaid dresses....they are beautiful.. mind you i don't know if we will be going back until after xmas... and im hoping to have shifted 3st in total by then:D ....my sewing skills stop at cross stitching, so i may end up resorting to good old safety pins:rotfl:

I have decided on roast chicken, potatoes, swede, carrots, broccoli, nobbies, HM stuffing with HM sausagemeat in it and gravy

Its weigh day for me in the morning....fingers crossed... i know i have stuck to eating good old OS meals, so should be fine

Hubby and i have decided to go bowling on Saturday afternoons, its a fun way of burning a few more cals... and then im going to start walking round the golf course some sundays, whilst hubby plays... not every week mind... he leaves at 6:45am  ...and the weather is only gonna get worse  ...

Im going to have a rummage through recipes today..will post any i think might be usefull.
I don't know about you guys, but i feel it is so much easier to eat healthily when its autumn/winter... all those stews etc are so filling and comforting...not to mention much cheaper!!!

Well i had better get off for now....sure loads of you have posted whilst i have been typing..... so can always come back and edit my post...

Keep up the good work folks:T

    good morning :D

arent we all doing well, a bit pat on the back for everyone me thinks :T :T

i am just eating smaller portions and trying to avoid the in between buiscuits/toast etc etc. so far fairly successfully :j

have decided to avoid the scales for a month as if i havent lost much thats when i get disheartened and pack it in. at the moment i am feeking much better about myself and feeling in control and that counts much more than if ive lost a pound or 2.

    wholemeal toast for brekkie
pasta and veggie sauce for lunc
sausage, yorkie and veg for dinner

    have a good day !!

Morning all. Well I had my porridge this morning and the frozen cherries weren't sweet at all so had to add some honey :o.

Might try the soaking the porridge overnight theory.

Does anyone soak it overnight in water, rather than milk?
(Dairy issues and rice milk always seem expensive).

Use apple juice instead of water or milk, but using milk does give you some calcium and it's much less sugary then juice is, so if you use juice dont' add sugar/honey to it!

Hello, I found these rules for dieting I thought they might be useful
1.If you eat something and no one sees you it has no calories.
2Food used for medicinal purposes does not count ie Hot chocolate, Cheesecake,Toast and butter.
3Food eaten while watching the tv or at the cinema does not count as it is part of the "entertainment " package.
4Foods of the same colour has the same number of calories eg lettuce and mint ice cream white chocolate and cauliflower
5Chocolate is a neutral colour and can be substituted for any other coloured food
    I hope this helps
    good luck

Not quite the rules for dieting we look for. :-/

Thanks will give that one a try. ;)

Tried soaking the porridge last night but put too much water in I think. The texture is different though. It was so freezing cold this morning that I changed my mind and zapped it to warm me up! The cherries were much better defrosted overnight and then heated up - seemed a bit sweeter than they were yesterday (but still sprinkled a teaspoon of sugar over).

Off to buy apple juice later ;)
