Frogga just said i know what im talking about -and i have it in writting:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Ok - im fine now... morning everyone
Well done frogga....only 4 days left to go....bet you are excited, and well done for keeping the binge monster in his cage;)
Hi there Nodwah....:D
If i was you i would think about making some nice warming (and filling;) ) soups...either keep a batch in the fridge of i freeze individual portions. Then when you get in from work, you could have a nice tasty bowl of soup -that should keep the hunger at bay and give you time to think about what you want for your evening meal.... I think we have all been guilty at some point of rushing in and grabbing the first thing we see...
Getting the Slow Cooker on the go is another thing i would think about doing... you could prepare all the ingredients the night before and leave them in the fridge ...throw them in the slow cooker when you get up, switch it on and dinner should be about ready whan you get home:T
Im sure between the other recipe threads, and all the folks on here we can come up with some recipes you can use....
Let us know who you have to feed, and any deffinite no no's where ingredients are concerned and we will see what we can come up with;)
Toonie.... i spent 2 weeks in kefalonia and their definition of "salad" leaves a lot to be desired doesn't it...... everything seemed to be dripping in mayo, dressings et...and all chopped and mixed .... so it was probably a good thing you didnt have one:D . I ordered a "cold plate" once ewww i couldn't touch it.... it was 7 piles of stuff very similar to our ready made potato salad, hummous, tzatziki etc....obviously something that should go on the table and dipped into and about a million cals
Well dinner tonight is going to be fish with hm parsley sauce, mashed potato with lots of swede, nobbies, broccoli, cabbage, carrots n peas
well i had better go and get my cuppa
Keep up the good work everyone-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
i love muesli/porrridge soaked overnight, its much more filling and if you put dried fruit in it it all plumps up and is lovely and juicy!
Today I have had an oats so simple sachet for breakfast, will be having a banana later.
Lunch will be something on toast I think(eggs or beans)
Dinner is home made tuna fishcakes, mushypeas and a few Slimming world chips.
Yoghurt probably for pudd.
have a good day all!Do what you love :happyhear0 -
This thread has certainly grown over the past few days since i've been here! DD poorly sick again so not been online since friday
Can i join? I only have about 5lbs to lose, since settling down with DP i have put weight on and my clothes are getting tight so i HAVE to do something about it now before i have to go up a size.
The main reason though is that we are ttc no.2 and i want my body in the best condition possible so that means cutting out all the cr*p and eating well, no faddy diets just good o/s healthy eating and exercise so this thread is perfect for me, am loving reading all your posts
Good luck eveyone!

Morning all. Well I had my porridge this morning and the frozen cherries weren't sweet at all so had to add some honey
.
Might try the soaking the porridge overnight theory.
Does anyone soak it overnight in water, rather than milk?
(Dairy issues and rice milk always seem expensive).working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
Hi lilmisskitkat
Hope your little one is feeling better soon
You don't have to "ask to join"...all are welcome... the more the merrier...and i have to say congratulations of nipping those few pounds in the bud:T
One of my main reasons for trying to shift this excess weight (and there is plenty of it:eek: ).... is because we have been trying for a bumpsidoodle for 5 years now.... and im pretty sure that its down to weight... so i want to shift it once and for all, and then if we still have no joy -then we will go down the prodding n poking route... allready been down the initial stages.... but know that excess weight reduces the chance of any treatment working, so im not going to waste the attempts or the NHS money.... plus i really want my eating to be sorted before i have kids and risk passing them on...
Heck..the things i find myself confessing on here:eek:
Anyway..welcome on board..its rather fun on here...never thought id say that about losing weight:p
Hi there... nearly missed newlyweds post
I have only ever tried soaking it in milk, but have you tried adding some sultanas -they give you quite a bit of sweetness, and it doesn't take many to become classed as 1 of your fruit portions too,,, or stir in mashed banana...-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -

I have tried it with added raisins and mixed spice (which is good) but then I tried it with honey and now find that when made with water it's too bland and needs "something".
Will try soaking it instead of cooking it. I really don't like the texture of ready brek or the oatso stuff - it's too much like baby mush. I get the Tesco oats with oatbran mix for 65p or else Dorset Cereals fruity porridge (yum but £3). The texture isn't so mush as it seems to be bigger flakes etc.working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0 -
I am with Frogga on this one I hate porridge I have tried it loads of times but it is the smell it makes me feel sick.
Had a good day yesterday no junk or wine so feeling quite pleased with myself brought a sandwich into work with chicken and salad got a yoghurt and an apple not sure about tea yet
One thing I have got to start doing is some excercise I couldnt go to a gym though thought about walking but it is motivating yourself which i am not good at!
Good luck everyoneFrugal challenge 2025

Morning ladies!
Well, apart from a couple of birthday chocolates (nearly finished now) while I was doing a pile of ironing I didn't nibble at all last night:D might be because I spent the rest of it asleep in front of the tv and missed part2 of Silent Witness
Had toast for breakfast, just had my mid-morning banana and a tiny bag of nuts and seeds.
Lunch: Dr Karg's crispbreads with ELF garlic and herb cream cheese, apple
Tea: need to find a recipe with beetroot as I have a mountain of it in my fridge and it needs eating up!
I might go to the gym at lunchtime or if the sun stays out I might have a walk instead.

For beetroot - red flannel hash nice (not sure of fat content of corned beef though).working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0

Hi newlywed....
Tesco do a "finest" range of porridge oats... they are bigger flakes too, i have the one with dried apple n sultana.... which soaks overnight really well and the apple "re-hydrates" - it lovely... they also do one now that has nuts n sultanas...i got 2 bags, and then left them back at mums in the UK.. typical!!-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50
