Hi
Thank you for the welcome and your views on the sweeteners I am definately going to try and go without any and look for other ways of sweetening things, thing is though when I think of jam or honey and that I automatically think its going to be fattening perhaps its because of the sw and ww mentality I think I will have to re-program myself. Weighed this morning 12 stone 13lb not good cos I'm only 5' 2 so I am aiming to get at least a stone off by christmas so I'll need all the help I can get0 -
It was delicious:D
!!
Thinly siced onion, beetroot (I'd roasted them a couple of days ago) and potato, layered them up, poured marigold veggie stock on (about half a cup) I was in a hurry so microwaved for about 7mins then I crumbled a bit of cheese on top (wenslydale - it was all we had in) and popped it under a medium grill while I cooked the cauldron sausages.
The top went nice and crispy and it was really tasty and filling - will definitely make it again and might add some carrot or celeriac next time. :j
Not had any pud - too full but I might have a choccy later on - I'll be glad when they've gone!!0 -
Hello, I found these rules for dieting I thought they might be useful
1.If you eat something and no one sees you it has no calories.
2Food used for medicinal purposes does not count ie Hot chocolate, Cheesecake,Toast and butter.
3Food eaten while watching the tv or at the cinema does not count as it is part of the "entertainment " package.
4Foods of the same colour has the same number of calories eg lettuce and mint ice cream white chocolate and cauliflower
5Chocolate is a neutral colour and can be substituted for any other coloured food
I hope this helps
good luck0 -
The past couple days have been PMT time and I've been eating awfully. I'm back to normal now and had quite a good day today. I've walked a mile and a half. I had a smoothie for breakfast, went round to my grans for lunch and had kippers in tomato, onion and garlic with green banana, cabbage, pumpkin and sweet potato.
For dinner I went out with a mate and had flame grilled chicken quarter and rice. It wasn't worth the calories! IT had no taste what so ever, but then nothing beats grannys cooking!
Reading through the thread reminds me that I have to buy some porridge. My gran makes it with water and condensed milk. Then grates nutmeg in there and pops in some cinnamon leaves. It's delicious. You can also make cornmeal like that too. Cornmeal porridge for breakfast is the best way to start the day!Getting there... A deal at a time. :T0 -
Just back from my weigh in and have lost 1 and a half pounds:j

Grrrrrrrrrr I just lost my post
Well done Taplady
I think what I said was:
Breakfast - Toast
Lunch - Soup & slice of bread
Dinner - Soup & slice of bread
Supper - Toast
As you can see, I didn't freeze my bread yesterday :rotfl:
Not really felt hungry today.
I have DD visiting on Sunday complete with my future son in law, they only got engaged 2 weeks ago. She has requested roast pork. Any suggestions as to how I can make it a bit special? OH suggested taking them out but DD wants mum's roast awwwwwwww. Dont see a lot of her as shes a redcoat at Bognor where as I'm in the Midlands.
Oh and a suggestion for a nice pud too, have got some apples and blackberries but don't really want to do a pie or crumble as I have just seen her comments on her facebook - "OMG the scales in the gym must be wrong, I am going to look like a big marshmallow in my wedding dress" - seems like she might like a bit of OS weight loss too :rotfl:whoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

Grats on the weight loss, taplady, well done
Rockie, your beetroot experiment sounds delicious, I look forward to trying that myself when tummy is back to normal ( I LOVE beetroot :P)
Moneyowen, I think the thing is to use small amounts of sweet stuff, I think its right what recovering said about the more sweet stuff you eat the more you crave... whether thats sweeteners or sugar etc. Try and sweeten naturally using fruits or fruit juice, use a small amount of splenda, honey etc, thats finealso I'm the same height as you and weigh more, so take heart, it can be done
Well, even though I have been poorly today, am still proud of myself. Have drunk mainly water, and unsweetened herbal teas - which is a first for me, normally I have to have at least a tsp of honey in there ! Did have something called apple and cinnamon oat cup drink, sounds disgusting but tasted really nice and was very comforting. Also proud of the fact that I did not stagger out to the corner shop and buy junk to eat, as would be normal if I was unwell ( mindset = " I feel like cr*p anyway, so whats it matter what I eat, " ) This evening I had an omelette ( no cheese but with some parsley and chives chopped in ) and a plain live yoghurt with a banana chopped in. And feel all the better for it" Baggy, and a bit loose at the seams.. "~ November 8th 2008. Now totally DEBT FREE !~0 -
evening everyone
Well done Taplady :T ... thats great...:D hope to be joining you soon
Guapa1 ..i don't suffer with PMT...but i do notice, that when i am eating well i have a much easier time of it -in that department....and now i no longer crave choc etc:T
Rockie4.. i may have to try that, i love beetroot... especially just roasted mmmm
Zenobia... you also forgot that food eaten whilst standing up doesnt count either
Moneyowen.. i have had to do the same... re-educate my brain - away from very low fat products etc.... that are full of gunk.... and on to simply cooked fresh produce.... it is so much easier - once you get into the swing of it...but to start with you do keep thinking about how "this must be making me put weight on"....but it doesnt :T
Well this afternoon i decided to walk to the Naffi.... never done it before..got a bit confused and took the long route  ..the way there wasn't bad..but the way back was a long ,slow, uphill drag...and to top it all it peed it down on me..made my feet wet -which rubbed my feet and gave me blisters on top of my feet :rotfl:and i got home drenched ..still it was exactly 1hrs exercise... so i may be doing that once or twice a week for extra exercise...
I came back with no gunk...they had fresh WW meals on offer and loads of other stuff, but i now know not to bother..
Well i hope everyone else has had a good day and is still feeling positive:D-6 -8 -3 -1.5 -2.5 -3 -1.5-3.50 -
