Hello, right, I've pondered over how I am going to do it, I am going for half a stone at a time, because this morning when I weighed myself it's half a stone I have lost since being poorly over Christmas, kind of scary.

I've noticed someone else is having yorkshire pudding today which I am pleased about as I feel less guilty now, the boys have asked for yorkshire pudding, sausages, mash and veg for dinner, think I will just have one smaller one instead of the few :o I usually get through.

I think a big key for me will be portion sizes, I bought smaller plates last year when we moved as before that the plates were huge and I always over filled them. I still make too much now, the dogs will hate me as they get whatever anyone can't manage but I want to stop the 'overfull' feeling. Starting today - 1 roll instead of 2/3 with soup, half the amount of soup, 2 sausages instead of 3 (used to be 4) will make less yorkshires ( the 4 of us can easily get through 12+ easily). I don't usually drink, have had three drinks in the same amount of years so that's not a problem. I'm not really a snacking person, I am a nightmare for forgetting to have breakfast and will regularly just eat nothing all day and then a very big evening meal, I know this needs to stop.

    So today

    Breakfast - banana
Lunch - small soup and roll
Dinner - Sausages, mash, veg and yorkshire pudding
Treat - one mince pie - because of being ill we have lots of treats left, so will just be 'careful' how many I eat
Snacks - don't think I will have any but will be fruit if I do
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb

Yes I think probably lots of us have realised that our portion size has been rather more than generous. I realised this when we were invited out to someones to dinner and when it arrived I thought, 'what the heck, where's my dinner.' I realised I was the only one that was shocked. I've always dished up 'ma larkin' size portions. :o

For me I think I need to adjust the speed that I eat. It hardly touches the sides as it goes down. It's embarrassing when I'm nearly done and others are barely started. I genuinely find it hard to slow down, I get all tense. It's not as if someones going to take it away from me.

    Afternoon everyone

Made it to the 1st destination on our journey home early this morning -so hubby has gone golfing with bil.... and im sat with niece in bed whilst her mum has popped out..

I can't remember who was on about incentives the other day - but i think its a good idea. hubby and i put €1 each into a tin for every 1lb i lose -so i have €100 or £75 allready -im saving it for when i am at target -then im going on a spending spree lol... but even if you just throw the price of that choc bar you resisted in a pot and then every couple of weeks or so get a face pack or a new lipstick etc.... i think it lovely to have a non food treat.

Sarn... hello and welcome , if ever you feel down, fed up or loney -or just want a chat -feel free to PM me.. i can talk the hind legs off a donkey :-) and when i get home tomorrow im not usually very far from the PC.... so don't get lonely and head for the fridge..you can come and talk to us :-)

Lil_me.... don't feel guilty... i eat yorkies, roasties, dumplings, Hm pies etc -not all at once mind lol.. if i want it i have it...

I don't know if anyone saw it earlier but paul mckenna was on TV -it was a whole programme about the weightloss theory he has... and i have to say it still makes sense.. and after reading his book ages ago -i find i am actually doing exactly as he says.. it was great to have it all refreshed in my mind.

We will be having gammon joint (on boiling now), new potatoes and veg for dinner -all retrieved from the back of our car -as we got here and they have nothing in ARGHHH and being new year everywhere is closed. Im glad im organised and always thinking of my belly otherwise we would have been having choc or nothing for todays meals eeeeeekkkk

well i had better get off -im going to do some more meal plans and work out where else i can cut costs... im going to be tighter than a ducks bum this year lol..

hope everyone has a good day - and keep up the good work folks :-)

Thank goodness, someone who understands. :D
I have to confess that, even tho I'd lost weight using a smaller plate, I reinstated the larger plates in a weak moment and took it a stage further by buying SQUARE plates. I pretended it was trendy at the time but I'd seen the full potential of corners, if you get me. . Ohhh I'm the epitamy of greed. :o

Have you gone to the lengths of using your mash to create a wall...thus allowing you to "build upwards too?" can't imagine what makes me think of that idea :o lol

    Afternoon all,

Welcome newbies and I agree with whoever said that Frogga deserves :Tfor starting this campaign...haven't lost any weight yet although I have been in from the beginning but I live in hope!

Today is not going to be the best for me...had bacon, sausage, some fried potato and two slices of bread for breakfast, with cup of coffee...all courtesy of OH who seems to have a need to keep me filled up at all times! Going to DS3 and DDIL2 for dinner, no idea what we are having, but know that there will be enough to feed an army and that they will be hurt if I don't eat...it will all be lovely too, so won't need much urging!

Portion sizes are a big problem for me, as is speed eating...we all eat as if there were someone waiting to eat it if we didn't get rid of it FAST, have tried to slow down on several occasions but keep forgetting...need to get back to that.

Safe journey home Mrs MC and happy new year to all my friends
