    Hi! Happy New Year!

I'd really like to join in this losing weight palaver!! ;)

I've started the January Grocery Challenge and think I could lose some weight alongside saving money!!

Do you need to know facts and figures, exact weights etc.? I'm about 13 stone and should be about 10 stone. I did Weight Watchers 2 years ago and went from 13 stone to 10 stone then!! It has all crept back on since.

Everyone seems really helpful and friendly on this thread, and I'm too scared to go back to WW (same leader and people, I've seen them!:o )

Love some encouragement and words of wisdom!:j

    Happy New Year

Have a safe journey Mrs M

I've got another party tonight at my auntie's house and then a birthday party for my DD on Thursday - then I'll have to get back on track! Back to work on Monday so that will make it easier and hoping to got rid of all the Christmas goodies by then. Weigh in on Friday so I'll see how much I've put on this week!

On the subject of recipes can anyone suggest a white sauce for pasta which doesn't involve cheese or mushrooms? My kids love the 'pastansauce' chicken and mushroom flavour (it doesn't taste of either) but I don't really like them eating it and my DD prefers to have plain pasta than one with a tomato base which is what we normally have. Any ideas anyone?

Anyway, have a good day all

Morning All and Happy New Year :j

Well, this is it , Day One AGAIN, and I'm very enthusiastic this morning :T

I eat LOADS of fruit and veg and it doesn't affect me at all. Mr Frog however only has to eat 1 satsuma and he's in the loo allnight :rotfl: I guess it's just how you are made up and what you get used to.

Today I weighed myself and it wasn't as bad as it could have been. Not good, but not a complete dissaster. I was contemplating weighing weekly with MrsM and Tappy , but I prefer seeing a large amount gone in a monthly weigh in. So wont get back on the scales until 1st February. Also, it will mean only 9 weigh ins before I reach my target! ;) (Fingers Crossed!)

As I bet we are bound to get a lot more newbys to add to the recent influx I thought now might be a good time to refresh you all on the rules of the thread ~ there aren't any!;)

Loose it how you want , weigh when you want, or even don't weigh yourself if you don't want to. The thread is just a support for people who are loosing weight without paying for expensive clubs and potions. Doing it "the O/S way" by Scratch Cooking, eating healthy meals and doing a regular form of exercise like walking or cycling not paying for expensive gyms. That said , alot of the ladies on here do go to the gym and do go to a slimming club ~ no one is excluded. You choose to loose it your way , it's up to you.:D

Some have posted reciepes, some like to post what they eat everyday in a "food diary" sort of way , what ever helps! :T

I hope that what I just wrote is correct and that it meets with everyones aproval :D

Right, today I'm going to drink lots of Cranberry Juice to try and "Flush" some of the carp that I've been eating out of me!:T

Good Luck everyone, lets not forget our goals and targets and why we are doing this , oh and see you all on the GMTV sofa in September ? ;)

    Morning everyone.

Can I join in too please.

I've about a stone of weight I need to shift, and previous attempts have either succeded - and then failed when the weight came back, or just failed outright:o

I've done the fads, the clubs, the eat nothing but cabbage trick and I'm fed up with it all, so my aim is to eat sensibly and cook everything from scratch. Of course, eating sensibly means portion control, which I may have a problem with :D

    Okay, so today we have:

    Breakfast:

OS oat so simple [made from porridge oats, and it's surprising how much you get out of 1oz!]

    Lunch:

Crisp rolls with ham and salad.

    Dinner:

HM turkey curry - more rice than curry for me.

    Snack:

    Fruit.

I've no idea what I weigh today, as we don't have any scales, but will be taking measurements shortly

Looking forward to reading all your successful slimming stories throughout the year  Hoping mine will be one of them.

    All the best

    Pipkin xxxx

    Morning everyone...HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Well, I'm here to lose loads of weight but I'm going for the first stone by my birthday in April. I have found through all my many many years of going to slimming clubs and following diet plans that A- all I lost was £'s not lbs and B- any weight that did come off went straight back on again with a few more lbs to keep it company.

This year is going to be different because along the way I've learnt to cook good healthy meals (using a lot of recipes from this board), there is a great, supportive community 'out there' - that would be you Mrs M, Frogga, Taplady etc and last but not least I want to spend this New Year feeling great and not panicking every time I get a pain in my chest IYSWIM!

    Good Luck to everyone, newbies and oldies - here's to a Happy and Healthy 2008 :T :T :T :T :T

Hi everyone, me again - just going to pinch pipkin71's idea of listing what I am going to have today.
Breakfast: 1 oatsosimple - I have 2 packets to use up! 2 slices toast and marmite
Lunch: HM Turkey soup! LOL bet there's a lot of that floating around today!
Tea: Low Fat Chicken Kiev, boiled potatoes and tomatoes.
No puddings or treats today - you would not believe how much rubbish I've ate over Christmas!

Forgot to say that I will be weighing in Monthly to try and stop myself from getiing bl**dy obsessed with jumping on and off the damn things
